Electric delivery rates are regulated by the MPUC (Maine Public Utilities Commission and high voltage transmission costs are regulated at the Federal level by FERC. Maine does tax electricity usage, but at the same level as the state sales tax which hasn't changed in many years. The first 750 kWh delivered to each residential home each month are exempt from the state sales tax. There are other specific exemptions for off-peak space and water heating as well as low income assistance programs. Troy Jackson has little or nothing to do with electric rates in Maine.

We can talk about wars fuel prices, military numbers and political arguments, but behind those numbers there are families,workers and young people trying to live a normal life. I also believe criticism should be directed toward the decisions of the government, not toward the American people. Military members are standing up in one way. There is a heading of Conscientious Objector that is being used. These are not just soldiers who decided that they didn't like the military so are using it as a way to get out. This afternoon, returning to our hotel, there are 2 men sitting outside the shop. I stop and ask if one of them happens to be the owner. The man with the beard says, he is the owner. I ask if he received the card I left this morning? He stands up and tells me he is so happy I came back as he had no way to reach me. He gives me a hug followed by a 30 minute conversation about world affairs. Peter, the owner was born and raised in copenhagen and has traveled extensively for his antique business, including many times to the US.
Bottom line: He has loved and respected America forever but somberly told us he can no longer like America. It is because of the lack of action from the people to stop this man.
