Yup. Cloud seeding is real, but ultimately, when it works, isn't really "making" rain so much as it is shaping where that rain will fall. As such it's not used much, as the people downwind of a successful cloud seeding attempt tend to get upset and sue you for taking "their rain". _Sometimes_ though it does work and isn't too legally fraught to proceed. And all it requires is an aircraft and something to encourage nucleation. Low energy requirements, easily obtained materials, and at least some of the time, successful.

Now _making_ a hurricane is a different story. To make one, you need to command at least as much energy as the system you are trying to create (yep that pesky "energy cannot be created or destroyed" law). Unfortunately not even our entire nuclear arsenal will let you summon the energy to create, direct, and maintain a Category 5 hurricane.

At the very least any attempt to summon _that_ much energy might be a tad bit obvious, even when the all-powerful "they" do it :) And summoning enough energy isn't enough -- you still have to figure out _how_ to use that energy, which we currently have no clue.

Cloud seeding is a ridiculously simple, if not always useful, technology. Hurricane-making is the stuff of science fiction and comic books... and crazy MAGAs.

From what I can fathom, a hurricane during election season hurts both parties EQUALLY. Or are the magats saying that we can actually cherry-pick which homes to destroy with that sweet high wind? "Look! That house has a Trump sign! Get it!"

Truly terrifying what these people believe.

When Orwell wrote in the book 1984 that the populace would actually believe it if Big Brother said that 2+2=5, I thought he created an example that was too extreme to actually believe.

Yet if Trump told the kids that 2+2=5, I'm convinced that all of the maga followers would repeat it as fact. Ya know, like hurricane control.

Y'all are fuckin stupid. Hurricanes don't kill just Republitard voters. Nature is apolitical. If anyone could control the weather, there would be no destructive storms LIKE THERE HAVE BEEN SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME, AND NOT RELATED TO YOUR STUPID FUCKNUT POLITICS. Meanwhile, just last week EVERY ONE OF 10 REPUBLITARD REPRESENTATIVES from FLORIDA VOTED AGAINST A NATIONAL DISASTER RELIEF ACT.

Why? To make Biden "look bad'? It's gone just so far. Real Americans are hungry and homeless. But they didn't care. It's that simple.

A fully developed hurricane releases heat energy that is the equivalent of a 10-megaton nuclear bomb every 20 minutes — more than all the energy used at a given time by humanity,. The US Government would be powerful, indeed, if it could harness. that amount of power.

I know where to find that kind of energy!

In overheated Gulf waters due to climate change. All you need to add is some well organized convection :)

Nowhere. Same with holding the planners of Jan 6 accountable—dump, all the politicians who bore no consequences for their part in the attempted coup, ad nauseam. Garland was the biggest mistake of the Biden administration. I think President Biden will be remembered as one of the most consequential presidents in history. However, appointing Garland, and then not firing him at the risk of appearing political, has done us great harm. Although I understand who Joe is—he would not do this because it would have appeared overtly political. He was between a rock and a hard place on this, once Garland was in place as the AG.

From cloud seeding (i.e., making a little, localized rain piss down for a little while (maybe, sometimes) to a fucking Category 5 hurricane hundreds of miles wide conjured at will by the Derp State. These idiots don’t have even the most tenuous grasp on How Stuff Works. And prayers caused the storm moderate when it made landfall, too. Didn’t work with Helene’s path of devastation, okey-doke, whatevs.
