Despicable, but I wouldn’t expect anything more from Collins, who has lied repeatedly about her “concern” on issues and then votes against the best interests of women confirming Kavanaugh….she always so concerned…I hope she’s concerned about losing her seat…Good Luck Troy! We’re donating to his campaign, even though we are in the SF Bay Area and are hoping for a win on November 3rd!

I'm in Mexico right now and I'm sending a campaign contribution! This letter made me see red. I'll never forget when Collins was interviewed right after Kavanaugh's office visit prior to Senate confirmation. She was all atwitter and aflutter like a high school girl who the football hero had just given a wink. What was that all about?

Mainer here. What you are going through is because a vile, corrupt and opportunistic politician is terrified of losing, and secondly because she’s basically a monster of her own making and it’s so unfortunate that so many Mainers, like others around the country are voting against their best interests. I voted for Troy yesterday and will be catching Heather Cox Richardson with Hannah Pingree in Wells next week. We’re all here for you and glad Meidas has given you this opportunity to raise awareness. We’ve got this!

Ramaswamy using Amy Acton's childhood trauma to impact her campaign. Susan Collins using a 40 yr old occurrence to tarnish her opponent. Susan finally has something to genuinely be "concerned" about: losing this election. Republi-CONS don't have any record to run on, they are tarnished by t-Rumps failures, and drowning in shit. They are scared to death that their reign of terror is coming to an end. We The People could be happier. Vote Blue to make sure it happens!

Thank you Lana for speaking out, and for your unflagging support of Troy. I saw your piece as an op-Ed in the Bangor Daily News, glad to see it promoted by Meidas! I’m a Maine resident and I have voted early for Troy.

I have always been "con cerrned" about Senator Collins " concerns". I wish you victory but most of all I wish you peace and joy

Stuffasaurus's avatar

I love “con-cernned” I can’t stand sc, she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. 🤷‍♂️

Jackie Robare Fiese's avatar

Why the hell are campaign ads all about trashing people’s lives vs. what their plans are for making their constituents’ lives better?

Sounds just like all those dumb ass republicans to do that.

Stuffasaurus's avatar

sc is only concerned about her billionaire donors. she is bad for our country.

Lee Lenard's avatar

Agree. Agree. Agree. Trashing the other candidate unless they were convicted of a heinous crime by dragging up something 30-40 years ago actually reflects what a upstanding and great person they are because because the republicans cannot find anything negative without trivia 30 plus years back. Just like vickawhammy in Ohio using coercion to get a mother that has not seen or been a part of a candidates life since the candidate was a child in a totally despicable situation and try to create a negative tv ad is totally repulsive and should have legal consequences.

Republican candidates! Tell us what you are going to do for the people. Tell us how you are going to clean up the mess we have in Washington. Tell what you are going to do for the people of your state!

Telling and advertising lies and demeaning the other candidate does nothing for the people of your state, the nation and the World!

Ricardo Valentin's avatar

They have nothing to tell except lies, everyone should already be done with taking anything they say seriously.

Yaman Al-mouradi's avatar

When are people going to understand that whenever someone is attacking someone's character in a way that has nothing to do with policy, it is because they have no argument. I mean come on, ad homonym arguments are the oldest false arguments in the book.

DillyDooBee's avatar

Look around: IF REPUBLICANS DIDN'T LIE, NO ONE WOULD ELECT THEM!

They're DESPERATE! Haven't figured out that the BIG BEAUTIFUL DISASTER they voted for DESTROYED HEALTHCARE, SNAP cuts created HUNGRY AMERICANS,

BRAVO TO LANA PELLETIER!

A MENTALLY ILL ICE GESTAPO THUG KILLED A MAINE RESIDENT WITH HIS CHILD IN THE CAR NEXT TO HIM.

SUSAN COLLINS VOTED FOR THE ICE GESTAPO FUNDING ignoring attempts by DEMOCRATS to put controls on tRump's ICE GESTAPO.

Where is Susan Collins? Clutching her PEARLS?

Karen Jacob's avatar

What does bad mouthing a person's family have to do with politics? bad mouth the candidate's own personal flaws, but not others.

Despicable by Susan Collins. She had an affair and is corrupt. So tired of her, that’s concerning and betraying Americans by the last vote. And to hear she was taking money - despicable. None of them have helped Americans in their entire century old careers. Go away Susan!!

Cappy Fann's avatar

In other words, she's as fake as her godawful haircolor.

Trying to wrap my head around an affair....with her? Ick!

BRAIN DEAD Darlene is an insult to voters!

I watched a YT short of Troy Jackson this morning saying I'll tell you about me, etc. If I lived in Maine, I'd vote for him with no hesitation. Seems like a good, decent, sincere and hardworking man (being a logger seems like hard work to me) and first and foremost wants to help the working people.

Ms. Pelletier's article brought tears to my eyes. So many good candidates running in the mid-terms, I hope and pray they win and not the 47 sycophants that have no platform. We need big change.

Thank you MTN for featuring Ms. Pelletier's simple and effective article; it got the point across, and it was also touching (to me).

Voting on Sunday, ICE or no ICE. I cannot let them deter me from doing my part and trying to help create the change we need and want.

Being a logger is extremely hard work. One of the hardest physical labor type jobs there is. It is also dangerous work, particularly Heli-logging. Anyhow, I thought it pretty cute--they're practically highschool sweethearts, it seems. Susan Collins is probably just Jealous. I didn't really follow the attacks, and don't care to. If it has nothing to do with policy, I don't rightly care. Everyone makes mistakes over the years, and the incident is 40 year ago from when the guy was 19! Everyone has something like that. The fact that she had to dig that deep, shows me that she's desperate. She has so little respect, that she deserves none herself.

Great piece by Lana. I hope this piece is being circulated widely in Maine!

Elizabeth's avatar

Collins is a snake, also sick in the head from Parkinsons & I wouldn't wipe my shoes on her, well maybe her face

Yaman Al-mouradi's avatar

Honestly, it's enough for me to know that she takes AIPAC money, to know that she is VILE

Yaman Al-mouradi's avatar

Oh, and unlike Susan, Troy Jackson does not take AIPAC money. That alone speaks for his character. God, no wonder they're digging so desperately hard to find something on him. The guy is totally solid. Backs labor, comes from labor. That almost too good. Maine is lucky to have him and his sweet family.

Leslie Spotz's avatar

Thank you MTN for this post! Thank you to Lana for her courage. Collins is despicable and vile. I'll never forgive Susan Collins for voting against women (for Brett Kavanaugh) and for her corrupt, criminal actions (taking bribes). Hopefully, she'll be out of office soon. In Texas, I'm sorry not to be able to vote for Troy. But I voted for Talarico, Ginojosa, and dems down ballot.

Beautifully and artfully articulated. How low can MAGATS go? Well, whatever we thought about them scraping the bottom of the barrel before is quadrupled by their latest ugly, patently false assertion.

Lana, thanks for letting us into what you and Troy and family have been experiencing. The more people reveal what Diaper Destructo's cult is doing, the better we get at defending what's right and decent. MAGATS haven't figured it out yet, but it only takes one match to break the wall of darkness. 🏆💙

Collins needs to go!

Well done for speaking out, but what a tragedy that it has become necessary. Good luck to Troy.

And she didn’t vote against Trump during his first impeachment. And all the terrible things he said and done afterwards. I heard she was a mistress before she married the man she’s with. I heard she was at fault.

Merry's avatar

I remember when Collins declared that djt had learned a "pretty big lesson" from his first impeachment trial in February 2020.

“During a CBS News interview in February 2020, Collins announced her vote to acquit Trump, explaining that she felt the impeachment process itself served as a significant lesson and that Trump would be "much more cautious" in future dealings with foreign powers.”

Sure, Susan. And look how well THAT turned out!

And now she continues to support djt as a convicted felon and sexual predator, but she has the audacity to attacks Troy Jackson!?

And let’s see. Hmm, how much $$$ did she take from Martin Kao in exchange for a defense contract?

“Kao confessed that in 2019, he funneled $150,000 through a shell company to a pro-Collins super PAC (managed by operative Scott Reed) in exchange for securing $32 million in naval contracts.”

“A September 2026 investigative report by ProPublica alleged that U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) and her 2020 re-election campaign were tied to a pay-to-play bribery scheme with Martin Kao, the former CEO of the defense contractor Navatek.”

“Kao was separately convicted and sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for wire fraud, bank fraud, and illegal campaign contributions, and offered the information as part of an effort to reduce his sentence.”

And then of course THIS happened - “According to leaked records and reporting, the FBI was moving toward a broader public corruption investigation into the arrangement. However, the probe was shut down after President Donald Trump took office in 2025 and he purged anti-corruption units at the FBI and Department of Justice.”

Geez. Someone, please. Make it stop.

Yaman Al-mouradi's avatar

Interesting. Didn't know about that bit. And Pro Publica is an excellent source. Their investigative journalism is excellent. Thanks for the input.

Merry's avatar

Understandable. And you’re welcome.

The constant daily barrage of criminal activity under trump’s regime (which has increased exponentially throughout Congress) has been so overwhelming that it’s challenging to grasp it all. I’m exhausted. But I must stay informed.

And yes ProPublica is one of the few credible sources that still exist.
