No Oligarchs Welcome at Meidas…Why We Grow

I was reflecting this morning on our interview with President Biden at the White House. (By the way, we are going to release it on our YouTube channel tomorrow, 12/19/24, at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT. Make sure to set your reminders on our YouTube channel.)

I was thinking about how we were so fortunate to have landed this interview with the President. Here are my thoughts:

First, I think it’s because the MeidasMighty community is such a big and dedicated force for democracy.

Second, and relatedly, I think it’s because we are not controlled by and directed by oligarchs.

Oligarchs have killed the media in their quest to loot, pillage, and destroy America.

Almost every major media network in America is now controlled by some billionaire or super-wealthy person or interest that wants to further a corporate agenda.

In contrast, MeidasTouch has been built brick by brick by all of you.

This is a people-powered network. We have no investors. We do have paid subscribers to this Substack and supporters who share our reporting each day—like you.

President Biden has been a President for the people and not for the billionaires. I think that’s why he wanted to do this interview with a people-powered network.

I hope this interview sends a message: A pro-democracy media company with humble roots, focused on the truth and decency, and not the agenda of oligarchs, can thrive and grow.

Here’s my promise to you:

The MeidasTouch Network will never be controlled by oligarchs.

Never.

We will never take our marching orders from some billionaire.

While we have no shareholders and no investors, we do have stakeholders. Our stakeholders are you, this community, the MeidasMighty.

That’s it.

We are accountable to you and we are 100 percent independent.

I give you these frequent updates on the status of the network and its growth because everything we do is with you in mind. Just like our interview with President Biden.

I can’t wait for you to see the interview with President Biden.
