I was just in Portland in June and it is a beautiful city, and I did not feel in any way unsafe walking through it by myself! The people were super friendly, and as I said, it was beautiful!

I'm in Chicago right now. This afternoon I saw thousands of people of all ages gathered to listen to jazz, patronize food trucks and shop handmade vendors. The kids were getting face paint. Dogs were frolicking on the lawn.
Great turnout at the waterfront this afternoon for a spirited No Troops march, with Governor Kotek and Mayor Wilson, and a few thousand of my Portland neighbors. Peaceful, joyful resistance.
