Can't happen soon enough............... However, unless we get rid of the republiCRAPS, we don't have a chance. And with their gerrymandering (which is only supposed to happen every 10 years--or so what I learned) at half-way between the census, it's only going to get worse. Just look at all the puke states and what they're doing.........

People have forgotten that this same deal was presented to BB in September 2024 from the Biden Admin, Biden said BB take the win. Sound familiar, that's the words Trump used last week. So in September 2024 a week after, Trump called BB and told him don't take the win he thought that would help VP Kamala Harris. Now Trump is taking credit, but one thing no one is saying BB and Hamas DIDNOT sign the agreement, so there is no deal that's why HAMAS is still killing. TRUMPS been played again. He doesn't know what he is doing when it comes to wars.

Time To Organize Against Cheeto and His Nazi Allies

The upcoming Oct 18 No Kings protest is a rallying point around which we can consolidate our voices in dissent of what Cheeto and his Nazi party are trying to do to our government

But as important is to develop a long term strategy for our movement As Marc Elias writes in Democracy Docket(https://bit.ly/4n0Qj1J) there needs to be a long range plan that requires organizing around a set of strategies that ensure the takedown of this radical right wing fascist movement that we have come to know as MAGA which by the way has been in the works for at least 2 decades This is not just about 2026 but there and beyond 2028, 2030, 2032 Apathy doesn’t win

As Elias points out we need to organize for the long term around the protection of voting rights, supporting each other with conviction and energy, and being proactive not reactive So much of what is termed journalism is merely a reporting of what has happened in the day While that’s valuable we need to go on the offensive with a plan to attack MAGA Sadly the DNC is woefully behind the power curve and it’s up to all of us to show up WE the People show up and lead the way but that’s how it should always be

Absolutely. It's unbelievable (then again--maybe not) that the republiCRAPS was the party that was determined to free the slaves and Lincoln was their leader. They thought everyone should be free and not be totally under the CONTROL of the federal government.. For the most part, Democrats wanted to hang on to slavery. What happened? Obviously, the Democrats got smart and the republiCRAPS got stupid beyond a doubt.

What I'm most concerned with is the safety of all of those Palestinians that came back to Gaza area!! If hamas continues the killing and take over of the area, Isreal will resume it's bombing and killing people of Gaza. Where will they find safety? I saw them crammed into the streets when the Palestinian hostages were released. I agree, Ben, that Trump only likes the admiration of others, wanting the limelight. My son tells me that Trump is incurious. He doesn't care about details. He projects that this is how it is, no questions. He the same way with us. Doesn't care. He's getting his, so that's all that matters to this narrcisstic sociopath. The "Peace President" who declares war on his own people. Canada looks so good from here. 🎒📦📦📬👋

Mr. Cohen: this is a thoughtful, well analyzed, well supported, and well written article.

Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan in full, BBC, Oct. 9, 2020 https://tinyurl.com/ykcbzcvx

[This plan never was meant to be followed, and it will not be. It is a cram-down by Trump to pacify his insatiable ego. He already is claiming credit, furthering his personal plans to develop Gaza, get “his” *I stopped 8 wars* Nobel Peace Price and rightly receive all praise due to Caesar]

Per the White House (abridged):

1. Gaza will be a deradicalised terror-free zone.

2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza.

3. War will immediately end; Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line.

4. Within 72 hours. all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.

5. Once all hostages are released Israel will release 250 prisoners plus 1,700 Gazans.

6. Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence will be given amnesty.

7. Full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip.

8. Aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties.

9. Gaza will be governed under transitional governance, a committee headed by Trump.

10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created.

11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates.

12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza.

13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza.

14. Regional (Arab) partners to ensure that Hamas, complies with their obligations.

15. The US/int’l partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF)

16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza.

17. If Hamas delays or rejects this, scaled-up aid will proceed in terror-free areas.

18. An interfaith process will be established for tolerance and peaceful co-existence.

19. Implementation of a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination.

20. The US will establish a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence.

[See if you can identify which of these (BBC has more details) actually happened? Why did Israel release any in-Gaza and more than 50% of Gazans in Israel when the living hostages were released and then dribble out further compliance reciprocally? One word: Trump.*]

> > > > >

*[Edit: CNN, 15 Oct 2025] "What happens if Hamas refuses to disarm? CNN asked the president. “I think about it,” Trump responded. “Israel will return to those streets as soon as I say the word. If Israel could go in and knock the crap out of them, they’d do that.” “I had to hold them back,” the president said of the Israel Defense Forces and Netanyahu administration. “I had it out with Bibi.”" https://tinyurl.com/439mmxr6

Roseann Duchon's avatar

Oh God! You know trump and Jared can’t wait until Gaza is totally in their hands to mold into another gold laden monstrosity in the image and likeness of a resort strip on the Mediterranean!

It was all part of a carefully contrived plan to destroy the entire area only to have trump’s and Bebe’s lawyers doing everything to keep BOTH men out of prison.

HAMAS still retains 24 dead bodies refusing to release them. That was enough justification for the IDF to target a HAMAS site used by terror operatives and killing 25 in an air strike including a home where a family of 6 lived all while reducing the number of aid trucks. The “optics” and only the “appearance of a “cease fire” was most evident. The cease fire has already been broken by HAMAS on the 2nd day, Thursday. The wrong bodies are also being returned. And many show signs of torture and abuse. It’s a mess. But it seems no truth is bad enough that will make Trump

realize this is far from over, much as he would like to be able to crow about him being responsible for peace and a Nobel nomination.

You fail to mention just who Hamas has had to execute. It’s the gang Israel has armed and commissioned to kill Palestinians returning to Gaza City, the ones who killed the beloved journalist Saleh Al-Farawi. The accusation you make about Hamas making plans during a ceasefire is literally the history of Israel’s military between campaigns against Gaza. Also cannot believe you equating Israel’s minimal withdrawal as leaving a “power vacuum” as if the IDF was holding things together in Gaza. It’s just a partial “bombing vacuum.” Several neighborhoods have been bombed since the ceasefire announcement. The quadcopters are still flying and Palestinians are still being killed by snipers or simply disappearing while searching where their home used to be. Why don’t you know these things?

Thankyou. Finally the facts. Hamas are not heroes (sadly Palestine has no means of defending itself legitimately), but they are responding to Israel's brutal (and illegal) occupation of their country. Israel has been holding thousands of Palestinians - why is no mention made of them other than a casual 1700 detainees were returned. And Israel continues the bombing. WHAT CEASEFIRE?

Sadly none of the Trump Show is real. It's never about the welfare of victims, any victims. I'm deeply relieved that the living hostages were returned by Hamas, but little is being said of the more than 1700 'detainees' returned by Israel. This conflict is not ancient, it is new. Palestine is a country that has been populated by Arab peoples for millennia. Israel was created when a group of western post WW2 politicians decided that the land was theirs to take. No surprise the Palestinians objected and violence followed. Israel created the first terrorist groups ever. They are the only option for poor people. Palestine did the same. It was extraordinary that there was an agreement to share the land and live peacefully together, agreed by the leaders of both countries. Netanyahu and has broken every agreement, and like all invaders, wants it all. It has nothing to do with a Jewish homeland. They had that.

Netanyahu is a thug and Trump is his mate. One wants a photo op and a headline, the other wants to steal Palestine. All of it. Using the religion to justify any of this is obscene.

Hamas committed an horrific crime when they attacked a music festival. Nothing justifies such cruelty. Israel, lead by Netanyahu, has been committing war crimes in Palestine that are excused/ignored. This is not a war, it has always been a land grab, and Israel ACCEPTING a two-state solution? They only exist because Palestine agreed to ratify Israel's claim and gift them land. Now millions of Palestinians are homeless, angry and have nothing to lose.

Trump moving to Phase 2? If there were anything funny about any of this I would be laughing hysterically. More likely by far that he will be charged with war crimes in The Hague. (Of course George W should be there with him but even George can't stand him.) He believes he's important. He is a cartoon with power. History will not treat him kindly.

Trump’s obsession with the Nobel Peace Prize poisons what’s left of his mind.

If there IS a viable ceasefire between Gaza and Israel, then why does Israel have so much control?

(Would that answer include the USA Military Industrial Complex?)

Biden apparently had the same plan...he probably thought it out more thoroughly with his team of QUALIFIED staff and advisors. When Trump derailed that plan for his own optics (nevermind the 10s of thousands of Palestinians who would perish in the meantime), he either only had someone read the first paragraph to him or stole it unfinished.
