  1. A bombshell DOJ whistleblower who just exposed senior leadership—including a nominee for a lifetime federal judgeship—for instructing DOJ lawyers not only to ignore federal court orders, but to lie about it and tell the courts to “F off”;

  2. The MAGA majority on the Supreme Court undermining centuries of Due Process and Fifth Amendment rights in a one-paragraph “emergency” order;

  3. A federal judge calling out Trump for lying about Harvard and attempting to lead it to “slaughter,” as she rules against Trump for the second time in two weeks;

  4. A federal magistrate finding that the Trump Administration has no real evidence—only “double hearsay”—to justify keeping Kilmar Abrego in detention ahead of his human smuggling trial.

And that’s just the beginning.

Why can’t we organize nationwide rallies against the Supreme Court and the republicans in Congress. They are the enablers of Trump

Expand full comment
Barbra's avatar

Definitely need to get the Congress GOP to do their job.

They are basically on strike, and it's fraudulent for them to continue to collect salary, benefits and pension increases.

They should be charged with Fraud.

As for SCOTUS, I suggest that while the work can be done in advance, we don't want the Supremely Corrupt Judges, Thomas & Alito, to leave until we have a non-MAGA President to select new judges.

I came here to ask this same question. The ruling they just made has me reeling. It has huge consequences. Can we write to them and leave messages as we do our Congressional reps? Can we protest? This ruling, along with their initial ruling of giving Trump immunity, is at the root of the demise of our Democracy. What have we become? We are sending people to war zones to be tortured, basically for committing misdemeanors? My God. I keep trying to imagine that scenario, and it’s beyond horrifying. When did the United States of America become the abusers of human rights, not the protectors?

Here’s how you can reach the Supreme Court: Call the general information phone 202-479-3000, or public information office 202-479-3211 (press 1 when calling this number), or write: Chambers of Justice John Roberts, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, 1 First Street NE, Washington, D.C., 20543.

I honestly couldn’t care less if Trump says, “fuck.” We have so many more issues than him telling us all to fuck off. The man is a terrorist in an elderly man’s body.

Expand full comment
Barbra's avatar

Well, him using the F word, especially in the context and manner that he did, is a symptom of his decay.

That's why it's important: not because it's illegal or immoral (to some) but because it's another symptom of his mental decline.

I'm sure he uses it a fair bit IRL.

But to use it on the lawn of the White House, in front of a gaggle of reporters, shows that his ability to assess what's appropriate is reaching zero. He used to be quite aware of his image.

He seems to be trying to get physically better, but the mental decay is really worrisome.

Let's remember he has the key to the nukes.

Wasn't there a King on Game of Thrones who said "burn it all"?

Trump believes that the entirety of the US is his locker room.

Expand full comment
Barbra's avatar

Yeah, it just shows the level of his disrespect for the entire country.

He comes from an immigrant crime family that never really integrated into the US culture, mores, and laws.

It's always amazed me that people cannot see him for the conman (and now convict) that he is.

He uses those words a lot. I always think of him as crass anyway so I wouldn’t expect him to do any better I guess. He made fun of a disabled reporter in public so I don’t put anything past him. I say that as a person who uses that word quite a bit too, but who wouldn’t as the POTUS.

I don’t think we’ll see many big waves (like a major MAGA Congress member changing their opinions), however I think we can cause little ripples. I’m thinking staff members who hear the same thing over and over via voicemail, phone calls, letter after letter, email after email - maybe they’ll be a little more receptive each time they hear from us. Maybe they’ll talk more about our talking points to friends and family, maybeeee they’ll vote differently (if we get to vote again). I think we can cause ripples to push news organizations to be more honest and maybe even a bit accusatory about what’s happening. As a collective, our volume matters. And, at the end of the day, if we just annoy and overwhelm some staffers working for people hurting the average American, I’m ok with that too 🙃

When there's little waves, the current can change and they become big waves. We won't let up. Pester the hell out of them until they get as sick of us as we are of them. Today was my first listen and wow did I learn a lot! I extensively studied science, education, special education and ministry with degrees to show for it. But what do I know about politics or law? Not much!

At 69, I just moved into assisted living. Learning as a life endeavor is keeping me going, not Bingo.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Rating since I’m not on any paid platforms!

Thanks Popok for this Intersection report! First—let say I agree with your analysis. Dropping the “f-bomb” in the Rose Garden was not presidential, but it appears that his regime drops it every other word in the WH! Look how easily it came out of his mouth! And as mentioned before in a comment, cursing and using profanity IS A SYMPTOM OF DEMENTIA! Second—Bove needs to be disbarred, impeached as a traitor, along with every complicit DOJ lawyer that has lied to judges, along with Blanche, & Bondi-you know she had to have approved these directives!

Third—The Supreme Court, oh where to start? It’s truly a shame that Biden administration couldn’t get Thomas & Alito out before his term ended! Perhaps the MAGAts sitting would have had less effect on decisions. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I was always under the impression that these justices were to follow the law and precedents, and be nonpartisan in their decisions, no matter what their political affiliation was. Call me naive! Fourth—Mr Abrego was kept in CECOT long enough for the DOJ to concoct the lawsuit against him filed in TN. Seems that bald-faced lying was the main reason to delay so this suit could be made. Every DOJ member that lied to the courts should be stripped of their license to practice law-not just in the states they hold, but across the country and it should be a life long disbarment!

Fifth—Hang in there Harvard, don’t settle, you are getting closer to a major win!

As always, I look forward to all of your Legal AF podcasts for the explanation and expert opinions. Until the next one…

They came here because of God only knows what was going on in their country, rape murders Chaos stations, unruly governments, and so on and so on, and they thought they came to our country where we would help well we understood now we’re pushing them off to a to a third world country one that they didn’t come from you’re not even letting them go back to their own country where they know of where they know how to live and what to do for God sake you’re sending them into slaughter houses killings slavery I think that’s what you want slavery rightpeople to work for other countries or us as slaves again I don’t know. Whose Country Is This? by Calvin Coolidge, Good Housekeeping, February 1921

What will you contribute to the common good, once you are admitted through the gates of liberty? Our history is full of answers of which we might be justly proud. But of late, the answers have not been so readily or so eloquently given. Our country must cease to be regarded as a dumping ground. Which docs not mean that it must deny the value of rich accretions drawn from the right kind of immigration. Any such restriction, except as a necessary and momentary expediency,. would assuredly paralyze our national vitality. But measured practically, it would be suicidal for us to let down the bars for the inflowing of cheap manhood, just as, commercially, it would be unsound for this country to allow her markets to be overflooded with cheap goods, the product of a cheap labor. There is no room either for the cheap man or the cheap goods.

If we believe, as we do, in our political theory that the people are the guardians of government, we should not subject our government to the bitterness and hatred of those who have not been born of our tradition and arc not willing to yield an increase to the strength inherent in our institutions. American liberty is dependent on quality in citizenship. Our obligation is to maintain that citizenship at its best. We must have nothing to do with those who would undermine it. The retroactive immigrant is a danger in our midst. His discontent gives him no time to seize a healthy opportunity to improve himself. His purpose is to tear down. There is no room for him here. He needs to be deported, not as a substitute for, but as a part of his punishment.

We must remember that we have not only the present but the future to safeguard; our obligations extend even to generations yet unborn. The unassimilated alien child menaces our children, as the alien industrial worker, who has destruction rather than production in mind, menaces our industry. It is- only when the alien adds vigor to our stock that he is wanted. The dead weight of an alien accre-tion stifles national progress. But we have a hope that can not be crushed; we have a background that we will not allow to be obliterated. The only acceptable immigrant is the one who can justify our faith in man by a constant revelation of the divine purpose of the Creator.
