SPEAKER 2
Donald Trump's uber-rich Treasury Secretary, who's worth about half a billion dollars, he's saying, we're on a roll right now, America. Sure, there may be a recession looming, and sure, you may be suffering, but isn't it all great? Don't you all love the vision? I mean, let me just show you what the oligarchy looks like.
0:19
I mean, this is his $22 million mansion, as he says. Yeah, hey, you could deal with a little bit of suffering. I think we have the dollhouse photo if we have it. No, no. That's actually Barbie's life. This is the one he lives in, a $22 million mansion. And he's lecturing people. People don't want cheaper prices.
0:37
That's not what people are looking for. It's not like Donald Trump promised he was going to lower prices on day one. Earlier in the morning, he was asked about the probability of a recession. Watch the arrogance as he answers his question. Let's play it.

Rep. Casar and the Fight Against Trump’s Billionaire Oligarchy

My interview with Congressman Greg Casar

Hey everyone, Ben Meiselas here. I just had a powerful conversation with Congressman Greg Casar that I think every single person in this country needs to hear.

We broke down what’s really going on behind Donald Trump’s so-called “momentum.” You’ve got Trump’s half-billionaire Treasury Secretary smugly declaring, “We’re on a roll!” while the rest of America struggles to afford groceries. And where is he making that declaration from? His $22 million mansion. These people aren’t even pretending to hide their contempt for working people anymore—they’re flaunting it.

Greg Casar nailed it: when oligarchs start bragging that everything’s great while the rest of us suffer, history shows what comes next—economic crashes, deeper inequality, and devastation for everyday families. This is exactly what we’re seeing again with Trump and his billionaire buddies like Elon Musk trying to run the country for their own gain.

Casar is on the front lines of the Fight the Oligarchy Tour alongside Bernie Sanders and AOC, going into red and purple districts with a simple, honest message: the real moochers aren’t seniors getting $65 a day from Social Security—it’s Elon Musk raking in $8 million a day in government contracts while calling your benefits a Ponzi scheme.

Let that sink in.

If you’re wondering why your costs are going up, your wages are stagnant, and your government isn’t working for you—it’s because Trump and his cronies are looting the place while you’re stuck footing the bill. And then they have the audacity to say you should be grateful for it.

Casar laid it out clearly: Democrats can’t play dead anymore. We have to fight. We have to name names. We have to say it out loud—Trump is corrupt, Musk is corrupt, and they want you to give up so they can take everything. But if we organize, if we speak out, if we push back—we can build a movement and win. History proves it.

The fight is ahead is about whether government belongs to the people or to a handful of self-dealing billionaires who want to turn this country into their own private playground. So let’s get loud. Let’s get organized. And let’s fight like hell for a government that works for all of us—not just the ultra-rich few.

Democrats need to stop asking for $3 from everybody for a while - because it’s as if all we are to them is a source of funds, and we ain’t billionaires - and instead use that mailing list to send short messages, each on a different subject, educating Americans about what is going on. The Treasury Secretary’s disgusting comment about social security would be my choice for number one.

We need to hear more about what they're doing to help protect us and curtail the corruption? We need to protect the money we have, not donate it away. Our income/savings are under stress and challenge.

What we have is raw courage. They have none. They are too afraid of losing their stuff and their privileges. Our job is to make certain they fail. We can do this only if we work together.😊👍

Shouldn't we be asking how it is possible that representatives and senators on both sides of the isle start out with a base salary under $200,000 and often end up being millionaires a few years later?

Why is this allowed:

You could hook the revolving door between the CDC and the corporations they govern up to a turbine and light up the Vegas strip, meanwhile congress invests heavily in these enterprises based on legislation that they are going to pass in the future because they are exempt from insider trading laws.

Agreed. If this country ever turns around and the rapey traitor felon is gone along with his corrupt regime, major anti-corruption legislation must be passed throughout all three branches of government. It’s obvious that the constitution and judiciary is toothless when faced with a true crime boss and his enablers like the rapey felon. The problem is the “ruling party” right now, and that republican voters can’t see corruption in front of their faces unless it smacks them up side the head. They blame everyone else, deflect truth and point fingers and never take responsibility or face accountability for anything committed in their name.

I was only asked for donations when Kamala Harris was running for President because that's who I donated to. I'm in NW IL. I also subscribe to Scott Dworkin. He has a lot of links to write letters to your senators and your Rep. I've written many, and I've received many letters from each Senator back. My Rep is wrong, that's a whole 'nother issue. Senator Duckworth sends out newsletters on what she's doing. I'm signed up for that. Has anyone contacted their senators and Rep or looked on their web page to see if they send a newsletter? That's my suggestion because I don't see anyone suggesting this to see what they're doing.

Same here. And somehow they keep coming and with a scare tactic with it. That makes me mad and makes them no different than the other side. They need to quit that if they want donors. They know 60% live paycheck to paycheck and the people with only income is SOCIAL SECURITY and no savings are scared shitless to spend much less DONATE right now. They need to figure out how to MESSAGE THE SAME WAY THEY ARE DOING US FOR DONATIONS. THEY MIGHT GET SOMEWHERE THEN.

I love putting things into perspective and Rep. Cesar has done it. Muck collects $8 million a day in federal contracts while the average senior American citizen collects $65 a day in Social Security.

This is why oligarchs and billionaires can put down a million-dollar bet to open a poker game. Imagine what that senior could do with that million bucks. Imagine what the country could do with the income taxes that Elon would pay if he followed the rules.

Elon is a welfare queen. And a South African immigrant who is calling for the prosecution of citizens in a country he doesn't belong to. Elon Musk, you are not welcome here. Go back to where you came from, you spoiled brat.

Why people thought the democrats should have walked out of trumps address to congress, instead they held up paddles? Really? They were told by democrat leaders they needed to sit there and be good little boys and girls. Nothing would have missed trump off more than the attention being taken away from him. If democrats would have stood up and walked out with Al Green, it would have shown solidarity and I bet the headlines would have been about democrats and not trump. Hit him in his narcissistic ego.

Mar 22, 2025

In honor of Women's History Month—and with the upcoming marches on April 5th—I've written this prayer to celebrate the fearless women who came before us and to inspire those still searching for their voice and purpose. As we continue our fight for our families and communities, our rights, our freedoms, the rule of law, and our democracy, may these words offer strength, clarity, and resolve.

An Activist's Prayer to the Fearless Women Who Came Before—and Stand Among—Us

O Spirit of Resistance,

we call upon the courage of Harriet Tubman,

who walked through darkness with only the light of freedom to guide her.

May her fire burn in us as we move through fear toward justice.

We call upon the truth of Ida B. Wells,

who wielded words like weapons to expose cruelty and demand dignity.

May her voice echo in ours as we speak out against lies, hatred, and bigotry.

We call upon the boldness of Shirley Chisholm,

who was unbought and unbossed in halls of Congress built to keep her out.

May her defiance strengthen our spine as we stand against authoritarian rule.

We call upon the passion of Greta Thunberg,

whose clarity and moral conviction broke through global apathy.

May her fearlessness in the face of power inspire us to speak urgent truths to a burning world.

We call upon the vision of Dolores Huerta,

who organized hands and hearts into a movement that could not be ignored.

May her spirit guide us as we build power from the ground up.

We call upon the wisdom of Ruth Bader Ginsburg,

who carved justice from stone and refused to yield.

May her clarity of purpose be our compass in this fight for our rights, freedoms, rule of law, and democracy.

We call upon the fire of Angela Davis,

who taught us that radical simply means grasping things at the root.

May her radical love guide us as we uproot oppression in all its forms.

We call upon the tenacity of Nancy Pelosi,

who broke barriers and stared down corruption with a gavel in hand and grit in her heart.

May her strategic strength and unwavering leadership remind us that discipline is power.

We call upon the strength of Malala Yousafzai,

who rose from violence with an unshaken voice for girls' education and equality.

May her bravery inspire us to protect the vulnerable and confront tyranny and attacks on education.

We call upon the legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer,

who was sick and tired of being sick and tired—and still kept going.

May her endurance fortify our spirits as we fight voter suppression and the attacks on our community.

We call upon the resolve of Cassidy Hutchinson,

who risked everything to tell the truth when it mattered most.

May her integrity give us the courage to speak out—no matter the cost.

We call upon every unnamed woman and man

who resisted quietly, marched loudly, mothered movements, sacrificed without thanks, and loved fiercely and without fear.

May they surround us now.

Protect us from despair.

Empower us to speak boldly.

Guide us to show up, speak out, and build power so that all can be treated with dignity and have the opportunity to thrive.

Inspire us to build power rooted in liberty, freedom, and justice for all.

We reject the lies of fascism.

We reject the cult of obedience.

We reject the politics of cruelty and control.

With the strength of our foremothers,

the bravery of those beside us,

and the vision of generations yet to come,

We rise.

We resist.

We reclaim.

Amen. Let it rise within us and guide our power.

Now is our time to rise. At People Power United, we believe the fight against fascism begins with each of us taking bold, consistent action—organizing, mobilizing, and showing up to protect our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, and our democracy. History shows that just 3.5% of the population actively engaged can create real change. That's why we're helping build a movement of over 10 million people—committed to standing up, speaking out, and taking meaningful action every day. By reaching out to others and growing our collective power, we can out-organize this fascist takeover and create a future where the people—not extremists, special interests, or the privileged few—hold the power.

I applaud the Democrats that are going to stand up and fight for us some people don't realize that they have been sold a bill of goods from Donald Trump nor do they realize that musk is using the federal government to make millions I think the sooner you can get that message out the better off this country will be because people cannot just let it go it has to be something we fight for this country was founded on democracy and freedom we have a beautiful Constitution and it takes more than just Congress to fight this battle it takes the Senate it takes every office in the government and most importantly it takes the people of United States of America to stand up and yell loud to say we are not putting up with any more of this garbage get the hell out of the office and put somebody in that is going to take care of the American people

Is your vote SAFE? Will your vote be purged by vigilante challengers? Scared? Get Angry Protest

The Nazis(aka Republicans) SAVE Act and access to Americans private information The Nazis will use this information using AI to eliminate voters from the voting rolls with election consequences

We have the numbers they have the cash. The SAVE act will require proof of birth either by original birth certificate(who has that) or passport

The SAVE ACT will require people are asked to register or re-register to vote (31m do that every year….for various reasons change address/change county, change name with marriage) voters will have to prove they are citizens in order to vote This can be done in 2 ways: 1) proof of birth either by original birth certificate(who has that?) or 2 passport (12% have passports and are usually white and wealthy) What about women who have different last names now? Try to register if you do not have your original birth certificate because marriage licenses, military ID’s will not count This is why the Trump regime tried to do away with birthright citizenship

The result of the SAVE ACT: Massive drain of the voter rolls

Call your congressperson to vote against the SAVE ACT 202 224 3121

If it’s there fine—I’m happy to get behind it. But WHERE THE FUCK IS IT? We’re fighting against a massively funded cabal that has spent years scheming all this. And the fuckheads even told us that they were going to do this in the Project 2025 abortion vomited up by the Heritage Heretics… save us from Vought and Nosferatu Stevie Miller. Why isn't the media focusing on the problem - Capitalism? Trump is just taking advantage of this flawed system - admit it! Fuck!

I've been screaming myself hoarse about this since I watched tRump change his tactics during COVID. As soon as Kushner told him "not our people" were dying from COVID, the policy instantly changed. They thought they'd use COVID to kill off "blacks and Hispanics," but, ultimately, infirm white people were the largest group of dead people. Democrats counteracted the message while rural white people accepted it and rebelled against preventive measures. They filled the hospitals, cursing staff with their dying breaths, insisting they didn't have COVID.

Here's the thing: Digging trenches, carrying people to them, shooting them, and pushing them in, takes time and money. If you simply withhold Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits, you can successfully kill off MILLIONS of those "unproductive people." I grew up on a dairy farm. I understand culling the unproductive to "balance the budget."

This is happening right in our faces - spit in our faces. The billionaire TechBros - including Musk telling employees to hang onto their stock because US taxpayers will buy them a robot factory. Robots remove the need for people. People need food, clothing, and medical care. The wealthy view the masses as unnecessary and resent the need of those "lesser" creatures. They view our consumption of those things the way we view mosquitos getting a bit of blood out of our arms.

LISTEN to what they are really saying. Solving pollution is accomplished by removing most people - people who are now "unnecessary" and a "liability" in a world of robotics. Today, robots are rapidly moving into the "relationship' class. The need for humanity by the wealthy ruling class is dwindling. You will see these efforts begin to take place in Russia, China, North Korea, and probably others. I would not discount the idea that the Ukraine war is at least partially an effort to rid Russia of unnecessary and undesirable population. Wars have a way of doing that. The wealthy are not the ones who lose their lives.

When are some of these self-proclaimed macho men, in the GOP and MAGA, going to stand up to Trump, FOR OUR COUNTRY, DEMOCRACY, CONSTITUTION, RULE OF LAW?! So far they have proven to be lying spineless traitors, who continue to kiss Trump's ass for a buck, and Iawless, unlimited power! How do they even look their children, families, and constituents in the eye, while betraying them all every day. All will be recorded in history, as a complete corrupt disgrace, traitors to the United States of America, who chose to turn their backs on the USA, betray us, and team with communist, murderous Russia, and has stomped all over our Constitution and laws.

"The war on women has new momentum now that MAGA is back in power, and it could ultimately lead to American women losing the right to vote, argued a senior writer at Salon.

Amanda Marcotte wrote in Wednesday's piece that Donald Trump's success in repealing Roe — the landmark 1973 decision that gave women automony over their own bodies — has emboldened right-wing factions looking to strip women of even more rights.

Marcotte posted that "many on the right feel they no longer need to hide the naked sexism fueling their movement or put up with the annoyance of women in even token leadership positions," now that Trump is once again in charge.

"Forty-five percent of female voters backed Trump in 2024, despite his overt misogyny," Marcotte wrote. "Most, no doubt, believed that complicity would protect them, and that the attacks would be centered on other women. But while the GOP certainly wants to strip liberal and feminist women of their rights, male MAGA leaders are showing increasing interest in bringing Republican women to heel, both culturally and through the force of law." Okay. This is going to piss off a lot of people, I'm sure. But I'm sick of the cluelessness, and I really don't give a damn who gets pissed off and who doesn't. Here comes a long post, and then, until the Meiselas brothers stop pimping Bernie Sanders, I am unsubbing.

Short form: Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. He assumes some kind of self-righteous mandate to speak for a party he helped tank in 2016. He helped saddle us with Donald Trump in the first place, by egging on voters with hashtags and noisy slogans, which seems to be all a certain percentage of the demographic wants to hear. He bloody convinced 30% of the left to stay home or vote for Jill Stein or the libertarian (vomit) candidate.

Got it? Clear now? He helped elect Donald Trump in 2016.

Now. Someone let me know when he or the Our Revolution fauxialist contingent owns that fact. To date, the American left hasn't.

Egged on and completely controlled by Tad Devine - go look the man up - Sanders decided that he was fated to be the leader of a great revolution (go look at his horrible NYT interview, when he wanted their endorsement during the 2016 primaries) by hamstringing the actual Democratic nominee, who by the way BEAT HIM BY FOUR MILLION VOTES in those same primaries. After years of slagging the Democrats, he reregistered as a Dem, helped himself to databases and funds he had done NOTHING to earn, and ran with it. When it became clear that he wasn't going to win the nomination, he slunk out the back door, REREGISTERED AS AN INDEPENDENT, yet kept taking party funds and demanding attention.

What does that make him? A liar, a fraud, and a thief. It makes him a slightly different flavour of Donald Trump, except he's wearing blue hate. And the hat is STOLEN. He isn't in any way entitled to wear it. Early version of DOGE, with his self-righteous smug little cadre doing a little hacking into Hillary's database during the breach. So they differ from the DOGE creeps ethically - how?

I only came in to comment because, as of now, Meidas is losing me as a viewer.

Bernie Sanders is a crap politician with one of the worst attendance records of any sitting member of congress. Until he helped himself to John Lewis' universal healthcare proposals (he seems to like stealing things) and rebranded them as Medicare For All (which, by the way, takes away my choice to keep neurologist whoi has kept me out of a wheelchair for thirteen years, because OH NOES KAISER MUST DESTROY NOW, and choice is not only about your ovaries, kids), he renamed a post office in Vermont and rubber-stamped two bills as part of the Veterans committe.

Oh, and also helped pass the most gun-friendly piece of legislation of the 21st century (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protection_of_Lawful_Commerce_in_Arms_Act). The NRA publicly thanked him. Has he ever changed his stance on whether the companies making guns used at Sandy Hook and other mass shooting should be liable? :::crickets on the left:::

I've been a fierce noisy fund-raising Democrat since I went door to door in affluent lily-white Marin County for my first presidential candidate, a Black woman named Shirley Chisholm. Bernie Sanders caucuses with the Dems because, if he didn't, he'd have to eat his lunch all by himself. He is not a Democrat. He's a noisy privileged old white man who loves the sound of his own voice. And by the way, actual socialists are not willing to throw half the population under the bus for their personal Big Shiny Noble Causes.

And if Meidas is going to push the faugressive messiah as the saviour of a party he tried hijacking, byebye. I am done here.

I understand your disdain for Bernie. However, I see the current regime as the most dangerous thing facing the majority of Americans, so right now, I say we use every single tool we got to defeat the beast. Bernie and AOC are pulling in huge crowds of people who are fed up, so let’s make that the headline, the people are showing up. The more the country sees that, the better chance we have of uniting even more people to takeout these corrupt, disgusting, people trying to hijack our Constitution and our Democracy. Meidas has been going at Felon47 since day one without Bernie. I personally think it’s a great idea to seize the momentum he has and use it to bring down Trump, but that doesn’t mean though, that I would ever actually vote for Bernie.

Good point, but…Kamala conceded the election without firing a single “um, something’s rotten in Denmark” metaphorical shot, because we were all too noble to call out an obvious theft (heads up to the no conspiracy types: it’s not a conspiracy theory when they’re telling you they did it, showing you HOW they did it, and lauighing at you because your damned nobility and political purity has painted you into a corner). We’re all livid at Schumer. So at what point do we demand that the people who pulled a similar hijack to trump’s - this time of our party - stop thinking they have a right to speak on our behalf, and pretend the history didn’t happen, that they had no part in it? Until someone there stops thinking that not admitting they bent us over a table in 2015 and cornholed us, they’re basically abusive boyfriends being enabled. And I’ll pass, thanks. Your mileage obviously varies, but I have waited since 2015 for SOMEONE in the Our Revolution camp to take ownership of the fact that their blind adoration of slogans and their blind hatred of Hillary Clinton were instrumental in creating this moment in history. They haven’t yet. They’ve just fed on it. As for the country seeing the huge crowds? They saw Kamala’s packed rallies and trump’s tiny ones and it made zero difference. All trump and musk and vance had to do was shriek “THEY’RE EATING THE PETS!” and boom, here come the technology-saturated zombies, buying right into it. Also, past history shows that Sanders will try and grab control of the right to speak for the party he’s been pissing all over since the 90s. Done with it.
