Did Jimmy Carter request that tRump not be invited to any post-mortem services?

That is not who Pres. Carter was, imo.

I doubt very much that trump will attend and subject himself to the unflattering comparisons.

Exactly. He never will go to anything where he isn’t the centre of attention, unless it’s to suck up to someone who he thinks is more important than himself. Like royalty, or Putin.

He had the unmitigated gall to show up to Former President Bush's father's funeral--even attempted to get his attention as he walked by his fat ugly orange a**. President Bush ignored him. And, when he was told not to attend Senator McCain's services he sent Ms. Plastic Surgery and her Ken Doll to the ceremony.

No one named Trump or Kirshner should have been admitted. Rather, they should have been unceremoniously turned away before they reached the entryway. PPOS the whole stinkin' bunch of 'em.

And the fact that flags will be flown at half staff for him even at trumps inauguration is gonna piss trump off because of the attention not being totally on him. I expect him making an ass of himself well before then. And Jimmy had a Nobel and trump never got his “Noble” as he called it.

I do hope it might get through to some who voted for the narcissist, however. It might give them a clue about what a real president looks like, and, come to think of it, what a former president can accomplish if he doesn't have to worry about being locked up for committing crimes.

He wouldn't want to go, because he wouldn't be at the center of attention. I hope his whole clan is not invited, nor welcome.

Carter was so far above ugly or revengeful thought that I doubt he would have considered any negative or hateful action against Trump, or any MAGA people attending his services. He worked to unite Americans, and all people.

“humble compassionate servant, free of scandal” says it all. He was the better angels we talk about. He didn’t just say it, he SHOWED it in how he lived his life, especially post White House. The world lost a great human today.

Yes, Carter was a great president. That would be correct. Then, along came Ronald Reagan, who ushered in the beginning of the demise of the middle class. But there are people in the middle class who still hold him in reverence— that would be the brainwashed right-wing stupidity we witness today.

That he did. He also emphasized whatever soothsayer Jeanne Dixon contributed. Imagine "Just ask Nancy," and "I don't recall" actually doing something positive for the nation. They didn't and I can't.

btw: I liked him better as an actor and when he was married to the lovely Jane Wyman. Nancy "Just say No" always came off as elitist IMHO. Never like her.

That's one of the many ironies of the Republican Party. They are, more often than not, the ones who are most elitist and actually would never hang around the "working class". Which to be fair, working class to most republicans means white working class.

He walked softly and used diplomacy to achieve the ends but all knew he had the big stick behind his back.

Also the only president that kept the US forces out of foriegn engagements except for a failed and flawed attempt to rescue the hostages... At least the armed forces learned from their mistakes.
