Ron Filipkowski on Today's Uncovered
We started out the show with new revelations from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who was a longtime friend of Jeffrey Epstein. He talked in a podcast interview about how Epstein made his fortune by filming rich and powerful men in his massage rooms then using those videos to blackmail them.
I then did a deep dive on the respective positions of Republicans and Democrats on the shutdown, the messaging of both along with the details of what they are fighting for and some ideas of how I think Democrats can deal with Republican lies a little better.
We talked about Trump and Jared Kushner’s deals in the Middle East, their various conflicts of interest, and the unbelievable news today that the Trump admin had agreed to extend NATO-equivalent US security guarantees to Qatar. I then talked about Karoline Leavitt losing her mind today when a reporter dared ask her about Kushner’s shady deals in the Middle East.
We spent a lot of time breaking down Pete Hegseth and Trump’s speeches to the generals, the messaging they were trying to convey, what it signals for the future, and how both of their speeches fit together to portend ominous things if the generals don’t stand up and push back on some point. I also talked about Hegseth’s plan to target women and gay people who are serving in the military.
I talked about Stephen Miller’s latest rampage against Gavin Newsom, as he continues to cry about Newsom and other Democrats accurately calling him a fascist, with Miller’s claims that it is being done to incite violence against him.
There is lots more than that but those are the highlights. I also wanted to note that I was missing one of my front teeth and did my best on pronunciations. I had several serious injuries in the Marines and one of them was to my teeth. A crown that has been in many years came out on Sunday. I thought it was going to be fixed this morning but my dentist told me I need a root canal, so I will be without a tooth for a couple more weeks.
Link to the show is here. Don’t laugh at my jack-o-lantern teeth - I didn’t want to skip the show because this one was important. I will be back tomorrow with my usual Today in Politics bulletin. Thanks again for subscribing and supporting my work!

So sorry! But a root canal is a great analogy for living through these times!
So you’d rather have a root canal than deal with all the Trump madness!
