Given what the WSJ just published, Mikey better get his MAGA pals to Congress. They are never going to survive the obvious cover-up. Donald KNEW 2 MONTHS ago that his name is all over the "Epstein Files."
He knew 10 years ago! He's such a disgrace. How are we going to explain to our grandchildren? Oh, we had a cult who's only goal was to destroy America, and we (I'm loath to write WE) decided to elect the man who created the cult, solely to dispense cruelty, hatefulness, and best of all kids, his goal was to return us to the 17th century!
They've already sunk their political careers with their constituents. Where they think they'll be come election time is a given--as in nowhere, stuck in the mud and sunk in the swamp their cult leader created. At least they'll have each other for comfort.
Sounds like a great informative show, as always. Like these written previews. Will watch later tonight and am looking forward to Ron's MAGA and lawyerly insights.
Remember the movie WAG the DOG? This is exactly what Trump and his minions are doing.
In movie President ??? was caught in an affair before election, so his top aides decide to 'fake a war' create a fake war, to take everyone news item off the affair. Sound familiar.
Trump is throwing too much bull shit, he is over doing it. It was Obama and Comey and Biden that wrote the Epstein files. Made no sense. He was Obama that tried a coup and pushed false news to interfere in 2016 and 2020 election re Russia. (again this is false and congress has said so). on and on and on and on. Trump is tossing so much shit and I love his ding a ling press secretary - like in the show CHICAGO when Roxie Hart sits on lawyers lap and says what Flynn/ Gere tells her to. A dummy. "reached for the gun" OMG. never have we had a MAGAT press secretary. She vomits BIDEN caused all the problems and the great Trump is fixing it.
Reminds me of Dorothy and the Lion, scarecrow and tin man are in OZ.
The great and powerful OZ commands you.....(and later - ignore that little man behind the curtain. The great and powerful OZ. tells Leavitt and she is his puppet. OMG it is sick.
Ok that's enough for now. Just some thoughts knowing how Trump responds to truth.
Deny deny deny then accuse accuse accuse and then throw out all the bull shit you can to confuse the people. Always holding the strings and control of your minions (GOP congressmen to do your bidding)
Exactly right. I've watched Kevin Costner & Gene Hackman's No Way Out multiple times. So akin to what we're living right now. Hackman's character had an aide who was so enamored of him that he unalived himself when the big guy abandoned him. Reminds me of Miller.
Exactly. Obama has immunity anyway because . . presidents (plural), not just pres. trump, have immunity now. So, Gabbard & the rest of you, go find another red herring that has more credibility would you? . . Jees. And GET OFF THE AIR! I wish I had a dollar for every time I have to hear trump's name in a day. That would add up to some money.
Trump is falling all over himself trying to exit stage right. There are too many witnesses and abused for him to make a getaway. We have to look for ways to undo his damage. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/the-damage-done?r=3m1bs
BTW, Anthony, that gold trim in the Gaudy Office is real gold, if I'm not mistaken. He always talked about how gold colored paint doesn't look real. Only genuine gold leaf or whatever looks real. So I think that destruction of the Oval Office decor was really expensive.
Always OPM (other peoples money). The dude is a tramp, a liar and a thief. He stole the FIFA gold medal during the ceremony. It's on film ffs. Pure unadulterated filth.
He's a real sick shameless greedy mo-fo who proudly brags about his egregious barbaric crudity (and cruelty, for that matter). I simply can't understand or fathom how his inner circle stands being near or with him, looking up at him adoringly with glazed eyes and blank soulless faces.
Agree. What they’re doing is simple—hitching their little red wagons to the entity they believe has the power to create the Robber Baron saga 2.0.
Drump The Dumptruck has an old tired script of using the phraise, “Against our country.” Clearly he thinks of himself as “our country.” He’ll follow the use of the term with a complaint saying “I have been treated so unfairly,” blah, blah, blah. He’s limited in his ability to speak a complete sentence, he flubs reading when a word has more than two or three syllables and he tries to cover up his verbal slips by immediately mentioning the duration of the imaginary assaults (himself and the country). He’s predictable. He’s limited and has no threat of ever being invited to join Mensa.
Listening to him is like listening to the late Leo Gorcey and his infamous malapropisms. Loved Norm Crosby as well. Laughable and enjoyable. 😂
No one seems to have a handle on the specifics of a general strike or talking about it during their podcasts, yet I see several Substack posts which advertise different dates, with the one that I’m hoping will happen starting August 9th. This is crucial, as our country desperately needs to get its act together. I’m a former regional campaign coordinator that sees the inability of other organizations to do this work and have been begging to help. Any suggestions?
I’m with you on this, David. We need to get our collective act together and schedule a massive general strike. I wish 50501 and/or Indivisible would take charge of this and set a day in stone. They’ve both done it with our massive protests; there’s just no reason why it can’t be done. I’m not banking on anything big happening on the 9th.
That’s my sense, also, Teach. I hope you don’t mind me calling you that. I can’t tell you how many times (it’s probably close to a thousand) that I’ve attempted to reach out to organizational staff and leaders as well as politicians all over the country about my concerns and ability to help and hear nothing in return. I took a break from two decades of community service in the early 2000s and jumped back in full force when Obama was elected, only to be disappointed after spearheading a project for 4 years and going broke, then giving it my all again in 2015-16. I’m getting way too old for this crap and wish more people would realize that we can’t find solutions in the system that created the problem, which is essentially what Einstein said.
Anyway, I continue to email my two senators, Wyden & Merkley with a strategy or plan to maintain our independence and hope that I’ll eventually get a response that is more than just a form letter.
This wasn’t at all what being a public servant was like in my day. Other than Bernie, AOC, Jasmine Crockett and a handful of others, I’m tempted to say good riddance. But even they don’t respond to correspondence. Ugh!
I just came from a stirring local presentation about Diane Nash of SNCC and SCLC renown. While I remember quite vividly much of the journey she traveled, I was shocked I did not know her name or have any recollection of her. Over the past two years starting with close attention to the qualifications issue in Colorado and Maine, I have had the same kind of zero response as you to dozens of substantive communications to the President on down to the DNCC and in between. After hearing the Nash saga it occurred to me that I'd been asking myself the wrong question at 89: I should have been considering not not just what the issues were but what am I prepared to sacrifice to help end the nightmare we now live that's been brewing for a good thirty years at least. This began with Reagan, but it has been given fuel by a series of SCOTUS decisions starting with campaign financing, the current fickleness of both House and Senate leadership, tax policies which allowed oligarchs to take root in America, too, and perhaps otherwise relatively normal permutations of politics to develop into the crisis we now face. That question of myself is heavy . . . Jail? Alligator Alcatraz? Exhaust my sons' and granddaughters' inheritance? Risk a roughing up by ICE? Other?
I see your note, Hendrick, and it sounds like you’ve had similar experiences with the Democratic Party, as well as corresponding to the President. How, may I ask, can we be of assistance, knowing that bots and moles are always present.
I understand your frustration. I, too, have sent a constant stream of letters to my two Democratic senators. Tammy Duckworth always responds with detailed letters about what she has done and is doing, but like you, I am disappointed that my actual suggestions aren’t acknowledged.
I feel cheated out of what should be a relaxing and enjoyable retirement because of this criminal regime, and I really wish that more of the younger generation would get involved in the fight. We need to do something drastic; anything short of that won’t get us out of this situation.
I'm 59, and I want so passionately to be effective, and help get our country back to sanity, and safety.
I honestly want to do more than just keep leaving messages to Susan Collins, and others! If I didn't have Substack I would be unable to believe that we have a chance. I was widowed last June, and I'm so grateful for everyone here!
We’re of one mind on this, definitely. And I totally know where you’re at with the retirement issue. I’m 70 and gave my life to community service and am now feeling as though it was a complete waste.
I couldn’t agree with you guys more and am preparing to storm the beach, as they say. My dad who was a sole survivor of a B25 plane crash in New Guinea during WWII, had a harrowing story after leaving his 7 dead crewmen behind and spending several days in the jungle floating down a river with the threat of headhunters and Japanese soldiers capturing him or worse at every bend. He eventually found his way to the mouth of the tributary and was rescued by his own company, which made such an impression on me as a kid that I attend the funerals of soldiers whenever possible. The patriotism and dedicating myself to this country is baked into my DNA. Therefore, I assume that I’ll end up making the ultimate sacrifice in the hope that future generations can have the life that our ancestors had fought and died for.
My Daddy served in the Pacific in Army during WWII. He was a double, Purple Heart recipient. Remember as a teenager, my Daddy expressing at the kitchen table how he fought the Japanese all night. He kept a scrapbook with pictures. This from a drafted skinny. 18 year old.
Ellie Mae, thanks for sharing. My guess is that both of our fathers along with the thousands of other WWII veterans would be deeply disappointed right now in how the baby boomer generation has squandered the opportunities given to them which so many died for. I, for one, will fight to the end to maintain that legacy.
What a great role model your father was for you! I can “hear” the pride in your words. Neither I nor my family come from a military background, but I am willing to die for my country.
What’s even more amazing is that I received a phone call from a fellow who is a professional plane crash researcher and found the wreckage, with a picture of what was left of the fuselage laying in the jungle. Needs to say, I was overcome by emotions.
I just tried resending some pictures for the third time. I noticed a problem sending pictures earlier today and may need to wait until tomorrow before the technical issues get resolved.
I keep coming back to an idea that I came up with in watching these brilliant people who were showing up on Morning Joe as guests as far back as 10 years ago. Why not assemble a round-table discussion where everyone is given the question of what to do when the system has failed and domestic terrorists have wiped out the top professionals within our institutions. I like the Blue Card/Red Card option as a starting point of the conversation but certain that’s not the only way of getting ourselves back on the high road. If you haven’t seen the Blue/Red proposal I’ll attach it this post. It’s pretty creative …
Thanks for the lead to Red/Blue cards. It WOULD be, I think, a funny way to launch into discussions that would be as varied as the composition of the groups convened. Unfortunately, it doesn't deal with the structural degradations which define the puzzle we're in and appear so intractable. But I enjoyed the conversation between you and Teach. Thanks. Long day. Time to turn in.
No, you’re right. I still believe our Constitution was sound. The problem is that Lawyers interceded with their own language that no one else understood, as well as forgetting the need for ethical & moral principles which gets back to the Founding Fathers assumptions that our society would have virtues.
I like it too! It seems pretty simple and would be easy to market. I’ve sent the video to several Congresspeople but to my Oregon senators and haven’t heard a word.
Yeah, I can’t let go. My dad would be almost 103 if he was still alive today. And as his eldest son, I have a duty to live up to, knowing how many have died so that we could have this freedom.

Another weakness is that Lincoln was too forgiving after the war and never should have allowed the Confederate states the power of controlling the electoral college.
I am wondering why no one on substack has looked into what ICE has done with all the children loaded into vans and carried away!
You would think if Magas want to get justice for Epstein,s young girls they would be horrified at the young children ICE has disappeared! I know I am, and I’m no not a MAGA! Come on! Where are these children?
Never - EVER - will Trump get a Nobel peace prize. His Epstein locker room misogynistic good ole white boy banter may have mentioned a ‘piece’ prize but that should get him a prison prize. Even the alligators would spit him out.

Of course he knew because he was there!
Of course. MTN has the receipts.
Explain theft by deception. On a grand scale.
Good. Hopefully this will sink the lot of them!!!
They've already sunk their political careers with their constituents. Where they think they'll be come election time is a given--as in nowhere, stuck in the mud and sunk in the swamp their cult leader created. At least they'll have each other for comfort.
He's known all along. The evidence is indisputable.
Bingo!
Yup. He's the man who "knows everything" except when he's put on the spot.
Another great episode. Thanks to you and Anthony
Sounds like a great informative show, as always. Like these written previews. Will watch later tonight and am looking forward to Ron's MAGA and lawyerly insights.
Yes, a good idea-I will watch later as well!!

I love what you wrote! SPOT ON! Just remember that when it comes to Trump's Regime EVERY accusation IS a confession. For real.
Exactly right. I've watched Kevin Costner & Gene Hackman's No Way Out multiple times. So akin to what we're living right now. Hackman's character had an aide who was so enamored of him that he unalived himself when the big guy abandoned him. Reminds me of Miller.
Great insight! I loved that movie!
But if they indict OBama according to the Supreme Court he’s got immunity from any prosecution… right?🤣🤣🤣🤣
Trump will be thrilled to find out that he got immunity for Obama
He already said " Obama should thank me ". His obsession and jealousy over President Obama is alive and well, I see!
Did you know that belligerent pig, trump, took away President Obama's and President Biden's secret service protection?
What a petty little bitch trump is. 🙄
No, I didn’t know that! OMG - ditto on your comment! — petty little bitch . . such a perfect descriptor.
Thank you!!
Touche'! ✅

I responded to you, but they placed it under the comment under yours!!
Well, since they've been blowing him for a decade, it seems they've come to terms.
Agree. What they’re doing is simple—hitching their little red wagons to the entity they believe has the power to create the Robber Baron saga 2.0.

That made me more sick than I usually am, when I'm assaulted with the sight or sound of Trump.
Understood!
We all have to cut back while he spends without restraint
" we'll get over it ". I still can't believe how pompous McConnell sounded, saying that. US, not THEM. They are sickeningly entitled.
I'm dizzy 🥴 so much is coming out, Thank you,Ron, and will reStack ASAP 💯👍
Ditto!
Love your podcast and love your daily recaps. Keep up the good work Ron-fighting to keep reason, sanity, and truth in our daily lives.
I think it can’t get worse and everyday it does. What will it be like in the future? Two “truths”?
Will up be down? Day be night? Left be right?
Thanks Ron. Your smile reassures me!

Teach - Given your background I thought that you might enjoy reading this article published in the Oregonian a few years ago.

Unfortunately, it doesn't deal with the structural degradations which define the puzzle we're in and appear so intractable. But I enjoyed the conversation between you and Teach. Thanks. Long day. The simplest way to address this is to overturn the Citizens United decision and rid ourselves of the dark money in politics.
No, you’re right. I still believe our Constitution was sound. The problem is that Lawyers interceded with their own language that no one else understood, as well as forgetting the need for ethical & moral principles which gets back to the Founding Fathers assumptions that our society would have virtues.
Sure, there are a myriad of ways people will come up with to get back on track. But I love the Blue Card/Red Card idea!
I like it too! It seems pretty simple and would be easy to market. I’ve sent the video to several Congresspeople but to my Oregon senators and haven’t heard a word.
I will try to send to my two Senators tomorrow.
Yeah, I can’t let go. My dad would be almost 103 if he was still alive today. And as his eldest son, I have a duty to live up to, knowing how many have died so that we could have this freedom.

The poster for August 9th with no details
Yes, I have seen that post. It sounds like more of a boycott; that is, not spending money anywhere or doing business anywhere that day. I can easily do that. Will it make a difference? Perhaps if at least 3.5% of our population participates. But the word hasn’t gotten around for enough people to know about it.
I’ve been in the mode of boycotting all my life and can’t say that it’s working. 😪
Welcome to the club, Penny!
Another weakness is that Lincoln was too forgiving after the war and never should have allowed the Confederate states the power of controlling the electoral college.
Yes, I agree.

No Nobel Peace Prize
Never - EVER - will Trump get a Nobel peace prize. His Epstein locker room misogynistic good ole white boy banter may have mentioned a ‘piece’ prize but that should get him a prison prize. Even the alligators would spit him out.
Ron, love the show. Used to get a pretty much daily via email your The Day in Politics recap which is exceptional and my most looked forward to email.
Suddenly I'm not getting it anymore, how can I get it again?
We're going to have midterms. We have local elections, people. State elections too. So the national elections will be on those ballots. All of them are on those ballots and you vote in your county of residence. The elections will be held.
What will be rigged is social media. Voters have to be vigilant and pay attention to trusted news sources, not Facebook, not X, not TikTok. Those are the places that gaslight voters. Don't let Russia Russia Russia brainwash you.
Is there a transcript available? I just cannot devote an hour and a half to watching a YouTube video, good as I'm sure it is.
