On today’s Uncovered, of course we started out talking quite a bit about the budget drama - both the political and policy implications and broke down some of the key parts of it that will really have an impact on people and the midterm elections.
We also talked about how Democratic leadership has played this - specifically Chuck Schumer, and how this could affect their positions moving forward.
I spent some time talking about Lisa Murkowski’s cave and the deal she made and also Susan Collins. We discussed how this battle led to Thom Tillis announcing he is leaving the Senate and the possible/likely candidacy of Democrat Roy Cooper now running which we be huge for Dems.
Of course, I also had to talk about John Fetterman’s comments about wanting to leave to go to the beach.
We talked about the deportations generally across the country and specifically Ron Desantis’s new ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ facility which is expected to take in their first detainees tomorrow.
I also talked about the reignited feud between Trump and Elon Musk, and Musk’s stated intent to start a 3rd party with the budget as the final straw for him.
We then talked about Trump used a threat to withhold aid to Israel to get Netanyahu’s trial postponed - and how analogous that was to the situation with Trump’s first impeachment for doing something similar with Ukraine.
We concluded by talking about Trump’s latest grift - his new line of perfumes and colognes.
Lots packed into this one. Link to the show is here. If you missed yesterday’s Bulletin recapping all the news of the day, you can find that here.
Fetterman's family needs to have a heart to heart and tell him to step down.
When I voted for him he was a different man. I feel his stroke plus depression are
just too much for him at this time. Get no one when I call his office.
Pay-to-play IS The Trump Doctrine.
