On today’s Uncovered we started off the show talking about the blatant corruption involved with Trump’s new legal team negotiating a $230 million settlement with his former legal team which is currently running DOJ for supposed malicious prosecutions of him by Jack Smith.
Well guys, I was under the impression that when remodeling, or construction of a home or in my case warehouses, I was required to obtain permits, have inspections to be signed off, meet the standards of the construction industry.. I have not observed any type of advisory board, historical board, or the appointed agencies to sign off. I’d be in a world of hurt if I put earth movers and bulldozers on a project with no permits or plans.. Utter chaos.
I can't even watch, because if I do I might not stop screaming. I'm sure I'll watch the podcast sometime, but not while it's this fresh, this sharp and cruel. Some of us have learned how to protect ourselves.
I came in late to a thread on another platform about the destruction of the East Wing and read through the 50 some odd posts. The MAGA posters overwhelming remarks were that it was no big deal, the pres is doing a "service" getting rid of an old building, he is paying for it, etc.
These attitudes were countered by many others yet no one mentioned that he is not paying for it and who are the donors paying for it and what do they expect in return. I just couldn't close the page without responding. So I mentioned these points as well as others that were not mentioned. I did that last night (10/22) and it is now 10/23 9:40a.m. and not one response.
Seems that anything he does is okay with them and as I've mentioned before one poster actually said that he wants a dictatorship.
I came to the DC area in 1976 when I was assigned to Andrews Air Force Base (it's designation at that time). Naturally the first place I visited was the White House. You could actually walk on the side walk just a few yards from the front door. I remember my parents sitting on the concrete wall that held the black vertical iron bars just feet from the Marine Guard Shack. Behind the White House, for Christmas, they had a tree for every state and a live Manger. All gone. If I find the pictures, I will donate them to a historical society for future reference but it certainly won't be the Smithsonian.
