Maybe once the MAGAts get screwed badly enough long enough, they could start to detach from propoganda. But that won't happen before the economy is well and truly screwed and they have no healthcare, pensions, or jobs. What they have is skyrocketing inflation and shortages as crops will be left rotting in the fields because there's no one to harvest, pack, ship food. The massive corporate dairies, feeder lots, and meat packing plants all rely on immigrants laborer.
But even it all that comes to pass, I don't see wholesale defections from MAGAts.
Grifter and corporate greed feasts on the greed of the masses. After things got better for a lot of these folks, they seemed to be emboldened and now entitled. They believe they can have it all - not able to reason that it's just the grifters telling them all they want to hear.
They've already been prepared to believe that the reason the economy is [pick a vulnerable group]. They're gonna want to believe so badly, most will continue to double down.
Why do I believe that? Because religion has been conditioning humans since birth to believe fairy tales and promises that rely on no empirical evidence or proof whatsoever. The God Gatekeepers of Santa Claus-like dieties have, for thousands of years, successfully conned humans for the course of their entire lifetimes to fork over $ / sacrifices as evidence of their faith.
What I hope is that strong blue state coalitions can soften the decline and maybe if they can hang together, they can develop their own regional economies. What I'm interested in is discovering a way to throttle down the flow of taxes from Blue states to DC that just prop up the Red states. Maybe that's where State's Rights can be flipped to the aid of Blue states. The Wild Card here is Climate Change.

It appears that the Republicans are using multiple media. When I turn on the TV, there are atheist 5 Republicans news type programs on 24/7. On the other hand there are no Democratic news type programs on, period. What they are doing online appears to be also equally aggressive. Democrats wake the hell up. Where is your voice, I don't think you are being heard. The Democrats have a great platform and are for the people, the working class. We are going to pay dearly, all of us for this Trump win. I went to Meidas website and clicked subscribe. Then when you sign up for Substack, you can see all the content that Meidas offers.
Yes, that’s true, and it’s how I’ve been following the various content sources. But I’m trying support them monetarily, and be a contributing Meidas Mighty member, but it seems there are different subscriptions for each content source.
For instance, I subscribed to Meidas Touch Network yesterday after reading Ben’s post saying they hoped to get 300 more subscribers yesterday. But then I learned that Meidas + is apparently a separate subscription. I am more than happy to pay for such superior content but it would be nice to know which content is under which title.
It is terribly confusing. You'd think it would be made easier or explained so that people don't become discouraged. I'm still clicking various links on Meidas and Substack and keep seeing new and different links. Hoping to be able to eventually understand all these connections and screens.

The Lincoln project has changed its audience and it's methods. Coming from the Repupublican party they have the skills that like yourself the Democrats are weak at. For every city they go after, track the real implications for various economic sectors (could be immediate or could be gradual or could be delayed depending on the particular sector) and then throw in MAGAs face over and over again because it's all going to hurt them. Let them know not only that they voted for this but that is factually happening to them. Like a Katie Porte whiteboard for very economic sector that it hits. I, like many Democrats, were pretty disappointed after the election, but leading up to the election I saw how legacy media was failing with “sanewashing” and “both-sidesing”. Thank you for providing some clear truth to what is going on. Both my wife and I were suspicious about the swing states voting for Trump, when Elon called the election 4 hours before anyone else. Now that Trump has said out loud that he and his cronies rigged the election, I’d like to hear what has been done to bring this to light (if truly verified).

Yes! Being informed. Unfortunately, young people these days and frankly all people in some way have very short attention spans. They need quick bites of the truth. Keith Boykin, Danielle Moodie and so many others like MTN are doing that. I saw Senator Chris Murphy right away come out with a video highlighting Senator Bernie Sanders grilling Scott Bessent on the minimum wage and Bessent replying "no, sir" when Bernie asked if the minimum wage should be raised. Unless you are a political junkie, you simply don't stay engaged, you don't know who the players are, etc. People must know at the very least who represents them. Podcaster Clay Cane, who wrote a great book titled "The Grift: The Downward Spiral of Black Republicans from the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump," says he always asks people who call in to complain about an issue if they know who their Senators are...some think he is trying to make them "look stupid." by putting them on the spot. That is not his motive. He just wants voters to know where their elected officials stand on an issue and how they voted, AND WHO THEY ARE. There are people who voted for Trump because he "gave them a check" during the pandemic. The stimulus checks that he held up to have his name on them. People need to be educated that a Democrat Congress passed that stimulus, but the orange idiot wanted HIS NAME on them and thus the delay. That is all people remember; as if he'll be sending Americans checks weekly. The disinformation and misinformation is insane!! We MUST educate people and especially our young people. There are a few, but really poignant, screaming errors that people make with their English on these broadcasts and it’s very aggravating because it just makes you look uneducated, which we know you are not! If your first language was not English, and you learned correct grammar when studying English, or if you were taught by nuns in a parochial school, I fully understand your dismay at what's been happening to grammar. I've been equally dismayed, but had to let go of my irritation because the "disease" was spreading everywhere.
Have you noticed "more better," "more happier," "more simpler," etc. etc.? And to your point with pronouns, I most often hear "Me and him/her/Sandra...." People you would think are educated talk this way, including newscasters, politicians, and commentators.
Clearly, the rules of grammar are no longer taught to native English speakers. The entire population now sounds like this, so very few realize that it sounds uneducated.
It's an indisputable fact that language evolves. That is my only consolation.

The pardoning of Jan 6 violent offenders is worrisome for many reasons but especially due to the fact that Trump could use the Proud Boys as a PMC to commit violence against americans. Based on my study of the limitations of PMC's there is no clear prohibition on the use of PMC's within the borders of the US and no clear limitations on what they could be asked to do. Since PMC's are controlled by the State Dept and not by the Dept of Defense they would offer Trump a mechanism to activate groups like the Proud Boys to enforce whatever directives he might imagine. The only difference between Proud Boys and a PMC is the formal creation of the For Profit entity.
Please examine this as I believe it could be the reason Trump pardoned these guys.....now they owe him.

Have you ever done a count in these interviews how many minutes are consumed by the interviewer and home many are given to the person being interviewed? I often find myself wanting to hear more from the person being interviewed. I've also noticed that the interviewer often remains very animated in both moving around and changing facial expressions while the person being interviewed is talking. The opposite happens when the interviewer is talking. Not just this post, but in general.

Your attitude about how to deal with first time offenders is basically the attitude of the Drug Policy Alliance. A very high percentage of those first timers are in prison for non violent drug offenses and if drugs were not illegal, they would either be getting help if they are addicts, or would be contributing to society.

Lawrence reports that during the last 2 years with Ms. LaPierre (sp) the "journalists screamed" at her and also at Joe Biden during his news conferences. And many of them were brutal in their reporting.
That is one of many reasons I will not tune into them now.
I do not trust nor respect them or the media company they work for.
