He makes Kirk out to be a saint, which he was far from being. I don't condone what happened to him at all. No one should die like that. But there were 4 people shot in Minnesota, two politicians and their spouses of which two died and I didn't see anything said about that. Not even condemning it. There is only one party for these people and its MAGA.

Two students were shot and the killer, a kid, shot and killed himself on the same day as Kirk's death. Kirk promoted the 2nd Amendment and the loss of lives is "just collateral damage" for that "right." The kids shot are going to be okay......physically, but will probably be forever healing mentally. WE have a gun problem in the US. Whether Kirk or children or concert goers, or church attendees. Can we make this about THAT!!!

Also, who will talk to all these young men who now do not have a leader close to their age. Talk to them and let them know that they are not excluded from the table of American prosperity by women, brown skinned or black skinned people, immigrants or GLBTQ. They are excluded because of BILLIONAIRES. These youth need a hetero white man to help them see this. My opinion.

Agreed. We need funding for mental health programs that will help young people when they need it most. But of course the administration cut funding for those programs. Maybe if we had these programs in each state, all the school shootings going back to Columbine, could have been prevented. We have to push our representatives to push for funding to be restored and even added to so that these kids can get the help they need before it comes to violence.

Saint? Cardinal Dolan thinks so!

Cardinal Timothy Dolan referred to Charlie Kirk as a “modern-day St Paul.” Cardinal Dolan calls the late Charlie Kirk “a modern-day St Paul.” I’m not making this up. National Catholic Reporter, September 19, 2025. Really, Cardinal Dolan?

Might these comparisons of what St Paul and Kirk have said have led Dolan to liken Kirk to St Paul?

St Paul said: “There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28. Kirk said: “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.” America Fest, Turning Point USA, December 2023. And, “The Civil Rights Act, let’s be clear, created a beast, and that beast has turned into an anti-white weapon.” The Charlie Kirk Show on Real America’s Voice, April 16, 2024.

St Paul said: “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18. Kirk: “I think it’s worth it, I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.” Turning Point USA Faith Event, Salt Lake City campus of Awaken Church, April 5, 2023. Kirk also called putting people to death by stoning “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters,” while referencing gay people. The Charlie Kirk Show, June 8, 2024, with Jack Posobiec.

St Paul said: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1. Kirk: “I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term – that does a lot of damage.” The Charlie Kirk Show, October 12, 2022.

St Paul said: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-6. Kirk said about Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Sheila Jackson Lee, Ketanji Brown Jackson: “Yeah, we know you do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously…. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.” The Charlie Kirk Show, July 13, 2023. And, about black pilots: “If I see a black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’” The Charlie Kirk Show, January 18, 2024.

Of course, none of these are what Dolan was referring to. Might he have had in mind what St Paul said about married women? “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22. When Charlie Kirk spoke about Taylor Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs’ star, Travis Kelce, he offered this: “Reject feminism” and submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.” The Charlie Kirk Show, August 26, 2025. Can this be what Dolan is referring to when juxtaposing Kirk with St Paul?

Cardinal Dolan’s declaration severely distorts the reality of Kirk’s emphatically unchristian pronouncements, a distortion that is regrettably befitting the constant distortions perpetrated on the American people by the Trump Authoritarian-Compassionless-Anti-Constitution Government Complex.

Lastly, during The Charle Kirk Show on January 4, 2025, while speaking with Michael Knowles, a Catholic commentator, Kirk called Pope Francis a Marxist and rejected his authority. “I can’t get over the idea of this Marxist who calls himself the head of your church being a representation of Christ our Lord. I mean that as someone who loves the Catholic impact on the world that says it openly. And by the fruit, you will know it and you have very Marxist fruit. Why should I care at all what that guy from Argentina has to say? Well, because you care what your pastor has to say, yes. But if your pastor starts saying crazy things, I find a new pastor. So, if your pope starts saying crazy things, maybe he’s not the pope and maybe that’s a bad representation.” This, despite Dolan being a Prince of the Church, in rank just below the Pope.

St Paul spoke against false prophets who deceive. Timothy 4. [Kirk claimed George Floyd died from an “overdose.” Posted by him on X, September 8, 2025.] I would urge the Cardinal to review Kirk’s words and rethink the notion that he could be likened to St Paul.

There can be no doubt that his assassination should be strongly condemned. There also should be no doubt that Charlie Kirk’s statements, standing there like the metaphorical 2000-pound elephant in the room, should not be overlooked. Cardinal Dolan’s declaration severely distorts the reality of Kirk’s emphatically unchristian pronouncements.

In my view, elevating Kirk as a paragon of Christian values is a disservice to the Catholic faith community. The pastoral care by our Catholic clergy must in all instances be authentic.
