Thank you! Hunter should never been dragged into this MAGA mess!!!!😡

How can anyone compare what Hunter did and the ULTIMATE ILLEGAL fuckfest Trump dumped on our Constitution.

Same. if we still had a democracy, with a Supreme Court that hasn't been couped, Biden would have stuck to his promise.

I will still never understand why Biden hasn't condemned Israel and withheld weapons until Gaza's innocents are safe, but pardoning his only living son when Kash Patel is in the pipeline? Of course he did.

MAGA/Republicans simply have no standing or right to comment on Biden’s pardon of Hunter, given their similar egregious conduct. They should have already dropped the charges against Hunter or announced that they would. Instead, they double-down. Democrats should be not commenting at all for similar reasons and because we no longer have a Republic founded on Democracy. I doubt that martyrdom by Biden or Hunter would be useful in a fight against tyranny.

We must stop playing by rules that MAGA Republicans dropped decades ago. This was not an instance where scrupulous adherence to principle made sense. Sometimes you must hit the schoolyard bully back, not just take the beating and then go tell teacher or Mommy. We no longer have the protections of the Constitution. There are no longer checks and balances. Our approach needs to be firstly, to hit back. Indeed, we need to slam, pummel and pound back.

I was proud when Biden said he would not pardon his son, Hunter, and I am even more proud of Biden for pardoning his son, Hunter.

We’ve seen how the GOP has said they will STILL PURSUE HUNTER BIDEN-James Comer & Nicole Malliotakis come to mind-which only further points out that President Biden is 100% correct in giving his son a pardon when the opposition is still sharpening their knives. I’m sad that the GOP wasted taxpayer $ for nothing & want to continue to waste our $ for nothing. Hunter Biden was never an elected official. I am so upset. President Biden- I stand with you!

Well, reminds me of GOP Special Council Kenneth Starr's non-stop investigating and smearing of the Clintons. (helped by Brett Kavanaugh. His work then was among all the documents that McConnell withheld during Kav's hearing, even after dumping hundreds of pages on the Democrats the night before the hearing started.

In other words, GOP has been playing very dirty since Joe McCarthy. At least half of them eventually voted to throw Joe out of the Senate.

Why wouldn’t someone support a pardon for Hunter.

Because Joe promised that he wouldn't. Nevermind that the situation for upcoming months ( years ) has changed dramatically.

That promise was foolhardy. A man trying to show his principles without thinking about the true nature of the circumstances. A promise he never should have spoken, but one based on years of the belief in a system that no longer exists the moment he's out of office. Have you never changed your mind when faced with more facts?

With the degenerates Dump is appointing, like Kash Patel, Biden did the only thing a loving parent could do to stop the relentless hounding of his only surviving son. Kushner's 2 billion dollar Saudi deal. Ivanka's Chinese patents, Daniel Jr.'s coke use. Nada. Dbl standards are Maggats' stock and trade

Sadly, Trump is already stating that he will do away with mail voting, early voting (going back to voting only on election day) and requiring proof of citizenship, so basically only the wealthy will be able to vote.

However, I believe this would require a change to the Constitution, since voting is in the hands of the States?

Patrick Muldoon's avatar

Yeah and good luck trying to get that law passed a 1 seat majority in congress. Not to mention the Senate where democrats can filibuster. Because he would have to go through Congress to do something like that. And another thing to keep in mind the main people who use mail in ballots and early voting are the elderly and Republicans so Trump would be basically be screwing his own party.

Mail in/absentee was 44% for Dems, 26% for Republicans.

In person on Election day was 28% Dems, 39% Republicans.

I think all the disinformation about voting has a big effect.

I'm also wondering if Repo Senators will feel pressure to kill the filibuster in order to appease their emperor.

That shows how dang ignorant & very low IQ Drumpf is. He would be well advised to shut his flapping trap about it. It is up to the states how they conduct voting not him. States rights & all.
