Locally two specialist doctors offices are no longer answering phones and a US educated pet vet is going back to Australia. Probably half of the medical staff in this area is heading out or has left unless born here.

Where I live the community is mobilizing - we have a huge Afghan refugee population, I volunteer helping with English lessons (for 5 years so far), their resettlement funds were completely cut and SNAP is on the cutting board. We are doing all we can to look after them while we fight the regime on this. It's a GOOD thing for the communities to step up and get involved at the local level. It makes us all stronger.
That is what our community is doing as well. Huge local efforts that are on-going to be sure that no-one goes hungry just because the orange felon is cutting SNAP to blue states. (Washington State here.) We are making sure that our food bank is well stocked and also donating gift cards to grocery stores for those unable to get to the food bank.
