Hey Meidas Mighty,
Let’s talk about the state of corporate media.
Is the end of corporate media here?
It sure looks like it.
Cable TV ratings for CNN and MSNBC have hit their lowest levels ever.
The Washington Post, LA Times, and other major newspapers have lost most of their staff and barely hold an audience anymore.
For example, the Washington Post has reportedly lost about 20 million unique daily users, according to Semafor. They’re now down to just 2.5 million unique viewers.
The MeidasTouch Network has more.
The irony is that Trump used to call these media companies “failing” when they actually weren’t. Then, in their desperation to appease him, they really did become “failing.”
It’s the same story with Trump—ETTD.
Everything Trump Touches Dies.
But here’s the thing:
The death of corporate media isn’t an accident—it was by design.
Corporate media became the sacrificial lamb for the billionaire oligarchs who bought them.
Some people naively believed that billionaires, with their unimaginable wealth, would protect these media properties and focus on the greater public good.
Wrong.
Here’s another acronym for you: NTAB.
Never trust a billionaire.
Am I being too harsh?
Let’s face it—American billionaire bros weren’t content with 10 mansions, 10 super yachts, 10 private jets, and 50 exotic cars.
They wanted more.
So, they latched onto a con artist named Donald Trump, believing he would help them hoard even more wealth and power.
To prove their loyalty, these billionaires tanked their media properties or turned them into Trump propaganda machines.
In doing so, they neutered what little dignity they had left and handed their power to Trump.
But here’s what they didn’t see coming: They could be replaced.
They thought their media properties were permanent fixtures of how we consumed news. They thought there’d be no alternatives to fill the void.
They were dead wrong.
The MeidasTouch Network emerged with a simple proposition:
• Report the facts.
• Deliver the truth.
• Cover issues thoroughly and lead with data.
• Support democracy.
• Promote values like compassion, empathy, love, community, and unity.
• Reject the influence of billionaires.
• Reject outside investors.
• Listen to and be there for the audience.
• Stay people-powered.
With that simple proposition, the MeidasTouch Network became more than just a media network.
It became a community.
It became the Meidas Mighty.
Our stakeholders aren’t billionaire shareholders—they are you, the Meidas Mighty.
This has been the key to our growth.
You’ve built the MeidasTouch Network into the top YouTube channel in America across all genres, with nearly 6 billion views and 3.5 million subscribers.
In under 120 days, this Substack has become the 7th most popular Substack, and we’re on track to reach the top of the charts by year’s end.
We’ve built the best editorial and research team in the game, thanks to you.
Corporate media underestimated us.
They thought what you’ve built wasn’t possible.
They looked down on us. They mocked us.
But we’ve got a message for them: We are just getting started.
Every day, brick by brick, we build together.
The Meidas Mighty is motivated, energized, and relentless.
Just wait until they see where this community will be by year’s end, and how we’ll continue exposing Trump and his MAGA sycophants.
We’re not afraid of Trump. We’re not afraid of MAGA. We’re not afraid of billionaires.
We’re free from their control and coercion—and we always will be.
So goodbye, corporate media.
You won’t be missed.
The MeidasTouch Network will continue to grow and thrive.
And here’s some more good news:
We’ve hit 7 straight days of meeting our Substack subscriber goal.
Let’s keep the streak alive and aim for 200 new paid subscribers today.
If you’re not already a paid subscriber, now’s the time to join. Or, if you’re already subscribed, consider gifting a subscription to a friend or family member.
We hear you loud and clear: Stay independent!
Thanks as always, Meidas Mighty.
Our coverage of the confirmation hearings begins today. Let’s get to work.
Every news corporation has let Trump dictate how they report on him. Meidas is willing to drop the bs and call a spade a spade. Thanks for the work and effort!
I have to admit, the demise of newspapers makes me sad. First it was local publications, now larger ones. I used to love reading the Washington Post every day and saw it as a source of truth in our troubled world. I'm really thankful for the rise of independent media, especially The Meidas Touch Network, to keep us informed.
