Trump Memes as the World Burns
Donald Trump is spending Sunday hiding from the press and posting garbage on Truth Social. So yes, a normal Sunday for him. The White House was closed to reporters again this morning, and Trump bolted for Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. The press pool didn’t even see him get out of the car.
But before he teed off, he found time to post an AI-generated image of Kaitlan Collins’ face on the body of transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, holding Bud Light cans. This is a callback to a supposed “joke” Trump tried to make at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, one that landed with total silence in the room. Nobody laughed then. He’s still trying to make it land now. It’s just as pathetic the second time.
He also posted a cartoon of Bruce Springsteen wearing a shirt that says “I’m stupid,” standing next to signage mocking his tour, alongside a caricature of Chris Christie, who Trump is mocking for his weight, cheering him on.
While he’s doing that, the wheels are coming off somewhere much more serious, and I don’t think most Americans have any idea how bad it actually is. So let me bring you the receipts.
