I am 69. My generation should not be running the country. We grew up under different conditions. Things are changing all the time. And we are getting older. We need to leave leadership to the people who will be living under it.

Ann Beyer's avatar

I’m 72 and totally agree with you. We need young, new blood in leadership roles.

SeekingReason's avatar

Age limits need to be established. There are always exceptions, like Bernie & other effective older leaders. But the U.S. Congress started looking like an end of life care center. There are good and bad people in every generation. I get tired of hearing people put entire generations in stereotypes. This is non-sense. But age affects abilities, especially after the mid seventies.

There are states that are vastly under-represented, like California. This must change too. We must demand punishment for the Fascist/Seditionist trump admin & Congress + SCOTUS. JUSTICE must be served before we can move forward one inch!

Victor R. Rutledge's avatar

Just REQUIRE a cognitive exam, and a VALID hs diploma/Ged to get into congress. Fake University degrees are "not appreciated". [I'm 75 and I haven't published in 50 years, so mine wouldn't hold, either]

wilma galenko's avatar

They should be required to pass a Civics course to understand how our government actually works, i.e., the purpose and function of each department that affects all of us in our daily lives.

Denise Gallo's avatar

I’ve got you all beat. I’m 78 and what I look forward to are new and fresh ideas. Not the stagnant status quo. And definitely not the regression we’re faced with. Nor do I want legislators who are 10 years older than I. If their thinking is too ‘radical’ for you, sit down and have meaningful discourse with those who are young enough to be your grandchildren. You’ll learn a great deal.

Kathy Sowers's avatar

76 and ready for some brand new, fresh, motivated, diligent, honest, clear-eyed younger generations to take over and build the future they want and deserve as citizens of the United States of America. Take your places and show us your determined "We the People" power!! We're with you!

Valerie Hastings's avatar

I agree. It is time for these old established politician to leave their cushy $$ padded seats of power and get elected officials who will represent the people - all of the people. If our government stops looking into the future beyond their own self serving agendas, there will be no future.

Renee Goodman's avatar

Joni, it depends on who they are. There are some younger individuals in Congress that have no knowledge of the Country’s past or what needs to done for the future! There should be qualifications for every member running for office before they can be elected. The older people in Congress need a medical exam to make sure they have all their mental capacity to make the correct decisions.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Agreed. We are living through the result of appointing Cabinet Secretaries, Agency Heads, staff, who have no background or familiarity with their stated function. Faking it until you make it isn't the best idea when lives matter; and the Treasury is at stake. There needs to also be seasoned, experienced people around to share the history, and the reasons, for what they are doing. This is time for "hit the ground running", not sitting around hoping to figure it out.

Lynda Lamensdorf's avatar

SO agree. The HORRID CREATURE from OH. with the rolled up shirtsleeves would be better served (& we would be too) collecting garbage from the dog pound. He would fit right in there. He isn't old. He IS ghastly .

WJB Motown's avatar

Schumer and Jeffries need to be the first chucked out the back door.......

New, young progressives will need all they have got to fix the disaster left to them.

Sharon Herrick's avatar

It just seems that age should not be our focus. I'm 78 so I feel I have skin in this game. And I am a perfect example of someone who doesn't get around much any more. I also agree that we boomers need to make room for the upcoming generations. But. Our aging leaders are not failing us because they are old. They are failing us because they lack courage and boldness and honesty and morals. Courage and honesty and boldness and morals have nothing to do with age. It's a mistake to think that "young blood" is the answer. Put all the Proud Boys in Congress, and what have you got? On the other hand, having power, specifically having power for a long time, and getting all of the benefits that go with that power, that has a lot to do with a failure of leadership. That's why we need to change.

Madannie's avatar

All I have to say is revere your elders. I guess I'd have to say...50/50 doesn't have to be one or the other. We certainly don't need folks who really have done their time like grassley, moscow or any other archaic figure head.

Did anyone see the NY Times article about Jeffries meeting with Kushner? What was your response? Mine was 🤬 and WTAF. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/us/politics/jeffries-kushner-private-meeting.html

Dee Cee's avatar

I just posted this, but I hope it's okay if I repost it in reply to your comment:

If you're upset with Jeffries because he met with Kushner, please call or message him.

You can message him through his website even if you aren't in his district, just scroll down to the option for non-constituents of his district.

My short message:

Re: Your meeting with Kushner.

A couple years ago, I changed parties from Independent to Democrat, because I felt it was time to take a side. I started donating to Democratic candidates, and for the first time in my life donated to several out-of-state candidates.

Today, after reading that you met with Jared Kushner, I'm questioning all my decisions. I can't tell you how very disappointed I am in you.

I hope Democrats regain control of the House. I hope your stunt doesn't give cause to those people who believe both sides are the same to stay home. And I hope that when Democrats do regain control of the House, they have the common sense not to elect you as speaker.

Again, really, really disappointed in you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Sad, isn't it? So many thoughts, but it's not worth the time to type it. :(

Dee Cee's avatar

I took the time to write directly to Jeffries. I'd been giving him the benefit of a doubt at every turn. No more.

Fred Jonas's avatar

Ms Bosch, I'm 76. I totally agree with you. And I'm a medical doctor. Medical doctors should not be running government. Lawyers like Raskin, Warren, and others should. People like me should be consultants.

It's not only that people like you and me should leave running government to the people who will be living under it, but it should be left to people who have the drive to do more than collect checks.

I just wonder how much Melania is being paid for these appearances the past few days? I mean, her and Natalie were both at the Indy race. She must have been paid well to show up to that.

Barry Cusitar's avatar

My take on Melania, starting to show up, is due to the fact that she is scared out of her wits that her ORANGE dude is going to get his diaper spanked this November and she wants no part of Epstein investigations and having to testify - hence, she thinks by standing by her Orange Child, that will help with the voters.......and she is WRONG. Accountability is coming for all these criminals, of which she is one.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Well said, Barry. I agree 100%.

Julie's avatar

With you both on that! 👏🏼👏🏼

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

May it come for her, and reveal what she is. May it bury her !

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

There's not much to reveal though, we all know she's a whore.

Renee Goodman's avatar

Barry, you are absolutely correct!!!

Lynda Lamensdorf's avatar

Euro Trash. knows no better, She WILL find out.

Renee Goodman's avatar

Joanne, I so agree with you! I believe that is the only reason she is still EVIL T. She gets Millions from him to keep her mouth shut!!

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

Absolutely !!!! She knew EPSTEIN first !!!!

She knows everything

She a apart of it all.

WJB Motown's avatar

Must be some kind of clause in the pre-nup. Mel has to show up a few times.......

The Orange Mafia family is overflowing with tricks.......Amanda Ungaro is always hovering in the backround......time for Mel to get another botox injection

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Her day is coming and I'm going to sit back and laugh my ass off.

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

Me too, I will find such joy in the revelation that she recruited children for that fat pig and EPSTEIN

Dee Cee's avatar

Natalie was cozying up to Eric. I can't stand Lara either -- the three of them deserve each other.

I wonder if Lara has a rabbit?

Karen Rivera's avatar

Eric, and the Rabbit, better be careful - Daddy Square Pants won't like him cutting in on his action.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Rabbit Stew anyone? 😂

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

You know Joanee, it will be really great when the absolute truth is revealed absolute the

Whore, she us great friends of maxwell, and heaven only knows the depths of which she had a hand in recruitment of children for them. This is what must be revealed to the entire world......

And a cold jail cell, would be a reward for us all !

Karen Rivera's avatar

Yeah, none of this cushy white collar prison. She can lay awake at night thinking about all the people, especially the kids, who have been harmed and will never be ok as they go through life.

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

May it haunt her now, in her sleep, may she see the faces of children she destroyed.

She deserves to be mentally torched

Karen Rivera's avatar

Can't happen to a more deserving person, except for her BFF, Ghislaine Maxwell. I don't get the sense, though, that Ghislaine has any conscience about any of it. And the real kicker, is if Epstein wasn't executed in prison (CIA, KGB, MI6?), he took the chicken shit way out, leaving everyone else to deal.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

I'd rather physically torch her 🔥

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Yes, I can't wait to see that bitch in prison. I look forward to that day. All of them actually.

Julie's avatar

😂😂😂 maybe she gets $$$ for every time donOLD holds her hand?? And OMG the $$$ she gets just to show up!

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

A million dollars just to hold his decaying hand 😂

Karen Rivera's avatar

There is every indication Melania was a Call Girl. She would never show up for a "date" without being paid - & leaving it on the dresser wouldn't have been acceptable to her.

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

I agree completely with you.

That's exactly who she is

May this come out and make headlines around the world, like this week would be great

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

You're too kind, Karen. She's a sleazy whore.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Well, alright, sleazy whore it is! 😂

Krikit's Songs's avatar

And don't forget Carney calling Trump's bluffs in a major way!!!

Karen Rivera's avatar

The entire Free World needs to follow Carney's lead. There's safety in numbers. It would be so entertaining watching Square Pants being left out. FOMO is a powerful thing. I just hope Carney doesn't fold to the bribes, threats and demands that are surely coming.

Lynda Lamensdorf's avatar

He IS my hero. I love Carney!

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

What's next with these White House events? Monster trucks? Motocross? This is all so incredibly disrespectful to our capitol, our country and us sane Americans. Disgusting. It reminds me of "Make a Wish." Absurd.

uRNangel423's avatar

And “Make A Wish” foundation is not politically motivated, they grant “very sick children with poor life expectancy” with their wish before they die from their terminal illness.

Lil donnie only has terminal mental trump derangement syndrome, not a true diagnosis by the way!

Dee Cee's avatar

Why did we not get any say on how the 250th would be celebrated?

I'm going with cock fights next.

Dee Cee's avatar

I want to see a cat fight between Natalie Harp and Lara Trump.

Winner fights Melania for the crown.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

That would be a sight!

Victor R. Rutledge's avatar

At least "make a wish" is for kids.

Karen Rivera's avatar

So... I stopped donating to Make A Wish several years ago when the "wish" was to shoot and kill a bear. Nothing child-like about that. It was a horrible thing to teach a kid; there was no reason for any living creature to lose its life on a whim.

WJB Motown's avatar

Karen Rivera's avatar

Oh! Joanne, please don't give him any ideas

Victor R. Rutledge's avatar

I wish a grocery list for my wife and I didn't run $250.00 for two weeks. We're not young, and so some things just have to be bought, and paid for, because, of course they do. If I could afford more, I'd do it, because Meidas Touch has found a place in my heart.

Elizabeth Romedy's avatar

I'm an 82 year old woman and believe my generation should NOT be running these UNITED STATES. We need the young voters to be active because their lives, along with ours, depend on them. Our CONSTITUTION needs to be protected from our FELON IN CHIEF and his absolutely disgusting REGIME to save the PLANET! Thank you, Ben, for keeping us updated and providing HOPE!

Personally, I dont care about age. What I care about is government that has a brain and does care. We have seen a version of decay in the lame members we do have. They have done nothing to stop this person spending the people's money. Let's keep the strong members who have done their job and fire the ones who have vacationers their term.

Will Wilson's avatar

Knowing that you're planning for the long run makes this 72yo heart smile. I've often worried about what's going to happen to those I love after I die. I've wondered if the generations after mine were ready and willing to fight for their freedom or if they'd become so inured that they no longer care. Ben, you and the entire MeidasTouch Network give me great comfort by showing that the generations after mine are ready and willing. Thank you.

After the 🌊 drowns those rats, Trump not only needs to be impeached and prosecuted as soon as possible, but his assets should be frozen. Of course, much of those assets are off shore, but they can be found.

Victor R. Rutledge's avatar

Confiscate everything he's earned while president, until it can be investigated. He won't live that long.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Sounds good to me. We would be able to track and confiscate a lot, but every good mobster has a hidden stash kept somewhere else.

The Peaceful Solution-Plan B's avatar

The key to defeating Trump? Mass non-cooperation | Mark Engler and Paul Engler

The following are excerpts from this article.

“The extraordinary level of grassroots solidarity and creative resistance in anti-ICE protests in Minnesota has given people a new appreciation for the power that mass non-cooperation can have in resisting the Trump administration’s drive toward authoritarianism. And it has created an awareness of why such action is clearly needed.

Those immersed in social movements look at the process of change in a different way than political insiders do. Instead of subscribing to the monolithic view of power, they hold a social view of power, which understands that those in positions of authority are dependent upon the cooperation and support of the governed.

Now, as then, the list of methods is best seen as an invitation to creativity, reminding organizers they have many tools in their collective toolbox – each with distinctive properties and powers. The potential of civil resistance is not just in holding large demonstrations. It is in drawing from a vast array of strikes, boycotts, noncooperation tactics and artistic protest. And it is in coming up with innovative forms of creative resistance that may never have been seen before.”

From The Peaceful Solution:

Please: Resist. Stop cooperating. Stop spending. Stop the fascist takeover.

Thank you for restacking, and sharing, to help Spread the Word!

WJB Motown's avatar

Karen Rivera's avatar

Maggot RepubliCON. I think there are old-school Republicans who don't like anything about this Regime and would come out of hiding to change it if they could.

Wade Baynham's avatar

Thanks Ben. We're standing, building and loving forward-- with you.

sheryl jeffries's avatar

We are definitely in a difficult place. Trump is literally looting the country. I can't believe the corruption; it gets worse. I'm shocked that anyone voted for him. They must have short-term memory loss

Juliaf's avatar

Ben, I’m hoping you can answer a question for me. Since these trades that Trump is making based on his announcements, policy changes and executive orders are against the law based on the fact of him illegally enriching himself thru the office of the president, why can’t someone like Jeffries march the national guard into the WH and arrest him?

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

That actually should happen

Why hasn't it happened yet ???

All traitors making money in the billions now ????

Juliaf's avatar

That’s why I asked. It’s insider trading at the very least and against constitutional law at worst! These are not covered under his SCOTUS immunity rule as these trades are not decisions made as a president for the good of our country!!

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

He should be prosecuted to the full extent of our laws

The felon, pedophile, con man, ripping our world apart

Must pay....prison is waiting

Want him to live to spend the rest of his worthless life in a dungeon

Karen Rivera's avatar

I have wished the same. How dedicated and loyal is the Secret Service; could anyone get close enough to corral him & them? I'm pretty sure a Military Coup would start civil war. He would send for his J6 Militias and it'd be game on.

Juliaf's avatar

I bet if the National Guard walked in the Secret Service would be out gunned.

And as far as his J6’ers go? Most Americans, more than 70% now, would be happy to see him go!!

Karen Rivera's avatar

National Guard is a State entity. Would the US Army, Navy ( who really hates him now), Marines, and Air Force be the most effective? Guys in white coats tagging along would also be good. And if he goes peacefully, there'll be a big (fake) gold platter piled high with Micky D's foreign beef Big Macs.

Nina Simmonds's avatar

Because Jeffries is compromised and is a Russian asset and always has been.

WJB Motown's avatar

Jeffries serves AIPAC and Israel first........he snubbed Mamdani's victory party.......enough said.......exit stage left

Juliaf's avatar

Can’t say I don’t agree with you.

But I’m wondering why TRUMP can’t be arrested on someone, anyone’s authority here.

WJB Motown's avatar

You know that already..Juliaf......the Supreme court gave him immunity.....the FBI has been filled with Trumps puppets...........that will get you started

Juliaf's avatar

I’m hoping to find a lawyer out here that can explain the legal reason why he can’t be arrested on corruption charges.

WJB Motown's avatar

Good move......Watch Legal AF......Katy Phang on Meidas......looking forward to what your lawyer says......go for it!!!

Juliaf's avatar

Also - SCOTUS gave him blanket immunity for decisions and actions taken for the country and trading stocks to enrich himself off his posts doesn’t fall under that. So, no immunity.

Juliaf's avatar

Asking a serious procedural question. Not looking for stupid answers.

Janet Edelstein's avatar

I don’t think so- Jeffries is a good guy fighting for the Dems

Juliaf's avatar

I just want to know why we have to wait for November. Or it’s really January when the New Democrats take office.

Arrest his ass now!! No man is above the law!!

Juliaf's avatar

Pretty sure it was Kushner who asked for the meeting. They can see the writing on the wall and I bet Trump asked him to see if democrats would be willing to work with him on anything that might save the Republicans in the midterms. And nothing bad comes from a sit down.

But I’m also pretty sure we can assume what Jeffries told him.

I wish I’d been a fly on the wall for that meeting!

Jen Valente's avatar

Ben, can you please talk about all of the lynchings in the south that the press is ignoring or calling suicides. Law enforcement also calls them suicides and quickly try to bury the stories. NC alone has had at least 5 and by some accounts as many as 9. Black people do not hang themselves from trees. Please inform the Meidas Mighty about what is happening. MS is also experiencing the same evil.

Stacy Kalstrom's avatar

Ben, can you please look into the meeting between Jefferies and jared? We need to get this out that those two are doing some collaborating and that is completely unacceptable.

Thank you for all you do. You help us remain sane knowing there are millions of us out there

Sandra Waide's avatar

This is my concern too. Jeffries has repeatedly shown that he will not affect change if he's selected again as the speaker and him colluding with Kushner is a red flag for corporate do-nothing House members. I always wonder how much dirty laundry keeps Congress from cleaning up the mess they've made.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Bingo! I can't tell if Jeffries is a good guy whose hands are tied, if he really is a Traitor, meeting with Kushner seems to make that implication, or if he's just an ineffectual chicken-shit. I was always wary of Pelosi, but she did keep her House-ducks in a row, and she got right up in T-Dump's face more than once.
