Welcome to our Sunday Morning Coffee post.

As you know, this is my favorite post of the week. Even during these deranged days of the Trump regime, I always enjoy sitting down with all of you over a cup of coffee, reflecting on the week behind us, talking about where we are, and looking ahead together.

You may have noticed I had a different background this week. I spent a few days in Carmel-by-the-Sea with my family to get a little change of scenery. We had a wonderful time, and now I’m back home. I have to admit, though, I kind of liked that backdrop. Maybe it’s time for me to switch things up a little. We’ll see.

Anyway, let’s get into the news.

The first video I made this morning focuses on Donald Trump once again backing away after escalating his rhetoric toward Iran.

On Friday, after leaving Camp David, Trump was threatening military action and talking about attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran alongside Israel. He was portraying military action as imminent.

Then, around 11:00 p.m. last night, Trump abruptly changed course. For the 100th time, it seems.

He posted that although the United States was “locked and loaded” and capable of inflicting what he called “military terror” on Iran like it had never seen before, he was going to hold off because, according to him, Iran had reached out to discuss what he described as the “perimeter” of a deal. That’s actually the word he used. Maybe he meant “parameters.” Either way, it was another example of the chaotic way he conducts himself.

We’ve seen this pattern over and over again. One day he threatens catastrophic military action. The next day he claims Iran came begging him for a deal. It has become a humiliation ritual for the United States.

But that’s not what actually happened.

The reality is that the United States has reportedly exhausted significant supplies of Patriot and THAAD interceptors. Senior military officials have publicly acknowledged limitations in our current capabilities, including the availability of naval assets needed to support further escalation.

None of this changes my belief that we should never have been dragged into this dangerous and unlawful conflict in the first place. But it does explain what’s really going on behind the scenes.

Reports also indicate that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman became heavily involved after meetings in Washington earlier in the week. Working alongside regional partners, including Qatar and Pakistan, efforts were reportedly made to de-escalate the situation by warning about the devastating consequences a broader regional war would have on Middle Eastern infrastructure and the global economy.

Whether other conversations also took place involving Trump’s personal business interests or those connected to Jared Kushner is something that deserves scrutiny, given the obvious conflicts that continue to exist.

Whatever happened behind the scenes, Trump’s position changed overnight yet again to discussing his imaginary deal.

Then, as if to distract from everything else, he spent much of the day posting bizarre AI-generated images of himself that only reinforced how detached from reality he appears to be.

This also came as the Department of Justice dismissed its case against David Hearn, who had been falsely accused of damaging the Reflecting Pool.

In court filings, Jeanine Pirro acknowledged there was no evidence supporting the government’s theory and that the damage resulted from construction failures rather than vandalism. The filing also exposed serious problems involving the Department of the Interior’s handling of the project.

Frankly, none of this surprised us.

We all knew the Reflecting Pool wasn’t damaged because of some elaborate act of vandalism. We knew the contractor had done a poor job, and now the government’s own court filing confirms it.

What’s remarkable is how differently this administration behaves depending on whether it’s inside a courtroom or on social media.

That’s the story of this regime.

It also makes me think about how the same people who lied to the public about the Reflecting Pool continue to lie to the public about the Epstein files, the economy, the deficit, and virtually everything else.

While they make grand claims about money supposedly pouring into America, our debt continues to climb, Treasury yields remain elevated, mortgage rates continue squeezing families, and millions of Americans are struggling to make ends meet.

The lies never stop.

One of the themes my brothers and I explore throughout WTF America?! is exactly this pattern: the normalization of constant disinformation and what it does to a democracy. I genuinely can’t wait for you to read it when it comes out.

Now let me take another sip of coffee.

As difficult as this moment is, I actually feel more optimistic than I have in a long time.

The Meidas Mighty has never been stronger.

This pro-democracy movement has never been stronger.

Trump’s approval numbers continue falling. His administration is increasingly chaotic. His Cabinet is divided. His agenda keeps running into reality. Even many of the people who once supported him are beginning to recognize what we’ve been saying all along.

And here we are.

Less than 100 days until the midterm elections.

Think about everything we’ve been through together.

Think back to the dark days before January 2025, when so many people felt hopeless.

We stayed together.

We kept building.

We refused to give up.

They attacked us. They threatened us. They tried everything they could to silence independent media and intimidate this community.

It didn’t work.

We’re bigger than ever.

We’re stronger than ever.

And I truly believe this movement is only going to continue growing.

The road ahead won’t be easy. There are going to be difficult days. There are going to be setbacks.

But I believe we’re going to get through this together, and I believe our country will ultimately emerge stronger because people like you refused to stop fighting.

I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you.
