I worked beside mental health for 20 years. Something itched me when one of our own vile politicians was accused, in media, of being mentally ill. So I poked at that for a couple of years--here's my result.
There is a difference between mental illness, and evil, which has become blurred over recent years.
Mental illness is not voluntary--no-one CHOOSES to become mentally ill. It is not blame-worthy.
Mental illness CAN, within varying limits, be treated with varying success.
People with mental illness can, again in varying capacities, return to living among the population, with no danger to either themselves, or the population
Evil is voluntary. It is ALWAYS chosen.
Evil cannot be remedied or alleviated through treatment--masses of sound studies have proven that.
Evil people cannot be safely integrated/reintegrated into the general population. Hence, the only effective response from the larger world is (a) imprisonment (humane, but strict and never-ending), or death. Canada doesn't have a death penalty any more.
So, go back & look at those two distinct identifiers, their sources, their implications.
IMO, Trump is not mentally ill (unless it's a sub-set of his condition--he's aware, he's been repeatedly informed about & counselled to refrain from many hideous actions & decisions; he's persisted anyway. I wonder if other people are actually "real" to him...
Consequently, IMO, he should be imprisoned, securely & strictly, for the remainder of his life--or executed, which would save costs.

And if you add in they are nuttier then a fruit cake well that’s horrific. And his misery loves company and that sums up the crazies that follow and help do the horrible crap he does. There’s only one other person in my life time I met that has no conscience and I put that person in prison. But unfortunately they let him out. I’m extremely proud of all of you that choose empathy, morals, values, and keep fighting for good and what’s right. So I’m still here and I love you all
I worked in a large city jail many years ago, and many of the men were so very similar to the felon...their family didn't have the money to get them off. That's the only difference between the rapist/murderers I worked with and the felon. I also worked at a Crisis Center/Child Advocacy Center and so many of the male offenders of child sexual abuse demonstrated behaviors similar to Narcissist Personality Disorder. Back then, unfortunately, most of the offenders found guilty received 10 years adjudicated probation. Not a day in jail. :(
I know that the death penalty has often, too often, been applied to people whose fundamental issue was poverty, horrible family life, etc.
But I think that my country moved too far in the opposite direction when we ended the death penalty completely. My next post explains. We need to find a new balance.
He received 15 yrs but did 8 almost 9yrs. They said he passed the 4 steps he had to do to get out. Well one of those steps was to admit everything you’ve done wrong. Ha! I know for a fact he did not. So they released him to the same place he committed the offense. I ran into him in a place and totally flipped on him. Told the store manager exactly why she didn’t want him there with her kids. It’s a vicious circle dealing with it. But hey I’m not one to let it happen if I can stop it.
I've been completely opposed to the death penalty for all my earlier adult life, and was delighted when Canada revoked it.
But then there was one guy who killed a number of young teens, hid their bodies, finally got caught, and did a deal with the force that he would only tell them where the bodies were if he got a spitload of money for his family, and imprisonment. He tormented the justice system for the rest of his life with frivolous (i.e., BS crazy) appeals etc., consuming masses of resources. He finally died in prison.
And then there was another one who specialized in picking up mid-teen-age girls, raping them, killing them, and & hiding the bodies. The toll included his wife's sister. The cops were unable to find the VIDEO evidence, which he'd hidden in the bathroom ceiling. He's still in prison, still appealing as often as he can.
The most recent one was a pig farmer on the west coast, who picked up First Nations women who were hitchhiking along what is now known as the Trail of Tears (highway), took them home, raped & abused them--and then fed most of them to his pigs. He finally got caught, is in prison (Canada doesn't have the death penalty any more), told his cell-mate that he was SO disappointed because he only missed his "target" of 50 women by 2 or 3.
I'm real good now with the death penalty for things like those--they're very expensive to keep, and there are much worthier causes for the money.
It’s so hard to even begin to understand demented people if thats what you want to call them, like that. Especially when it comes to kids. I instantly see red. I mentioned to someone close to me what he had done to me. I was young. She never did anything. It literally took me 20 years after I was an adult to stop him. And then they let him out and I came face to face with him. Let’s just say I found my strength that day.

But why would he not be? He's got tons of money behind him. He's got TONS of aggrieved citizens behind him. And every crook in the garden.
And not everything good---as long as there are people like you, & others here, who see clearly what he is, and will take actions to get him out of office (if you can--you may have to take to the streets for that part)
The way I see it, the only way we have to get out of the Iran war is to have a change in US leadership. New person comes in and says "that was that crazy guy, now let's get this settled and over with". BUT, that means we get rid of the current idiot and not 2 years from now.
Leadership will only change if we force it.... he is already setting it up to do something to the elections.... unless everyone rises up and tells him "Stop it" we will continue plunging into a hell we can't escape from.
I'll be escaping, as I'm old...and I look forward to getting away from hateful MAGAs and their hateful children. lol and all the stupid democrats that refuse to allow us universal health care.
Or simply fight against MAGA harder and stop letting "Dumbass" and his cronies off the hook.... some are trying.... but it needs to be a full unified force from the Democrats or they can be seen as also just going along with it.... this isn't game

Sadly, we held Nazi rallies back in the 30s.... certain people embraced that ideology wholeheartedly.... considering that was about 1-2 generations after the Civil War.... I'm not surprised.

And if you add in they are nuttier then a fruit cake well that’s horrific. And his misery loves company and that sums up the crazies that follow and help do the horrible crap he does. There’s only one other person in my life time I met that has no conscience and I put that person in prison. But unfortunately they let him out. I’m extremely proud of all of you that choose empathy, morals, values, and keep fighting for good and what’s right. So I’m still here and I love you all
I worked in a large city jail many years ago, and many of the men were so very similar to the felon...their family didn't have the money to get them off. That's the only difference between the rapist/murderers I worked with and the felon. I also worked at a Crisis Center/Child Advocacy Center and so many of the male offenders of child sexual abuse demonstrated behaviors similar to Narcissist Personality Disorder. Back then, unfortunately, most of the offenders found guilty received 10 years adjudicated probation. Not a day in jail. :(
I know that the death penalty has often, too often, been applied to people whose fundamental issue was poverty, horrible family life, etc.
But I think that my country moved too far in the opposite direction when we ended the death penalty completely. My next post explains. We need to find a new balance.
He received 15 yrs but did 8 almost 9yrs. They said he passed the 4 steps he had to do to get out. Well one of those steps was to admit everything you’ve done wrong. Ha! I know for a fact he did not. So they released him to the same place he committed the offense. I ran into him in a place and totally flipped on him. Told the store manager exactly why she didn’t want him there with her kids. It’s a vicious circle dealing with it. But hey I’m not one to let it happen if I can stop it.

See, this is the thing.
I've been completely opposed to the death penalty for all my earlier adult life, and was delighted when Canada revoked it.
But then there was one guy who killed a number of young teens, hid their bodies, finally got caught, and did a deal with the force that he would only tell them where the bodies were if he got a spitload of money for his family, and imprisonment. He tormented the justice system for the rest of his life with frivolous (i.e., BS crazy) appeals etc., consuming masses of resources. He finally died in prison.
And then there was another one who specialized in picking up mid-teen-age girls, raping them, killing them, and & hiding the bodies. The toll included his wife's sister. The cops were unable to find the VIDEO evidence, which he'd hidden in the bathroom ceiling. He's still in prison, still appealing as often as he can.
The most recent one was a pig farmer on the west coast, who picked up First Nations women who were hitchhiking along what is now known as the Trail of Tears (highway), took them home, raped & abused them--and then fed most of them to his pigs. He finally got caught, is in prison (Canada doesn't have the death penalty any more), told his cell-mate that he was SO disappointed because he only missed his "target" of 50 women by 2 or 3.
I'm real good now with the death penalty for things like those--they're very expensive to keep, and there are much worthier causes for the money.
It’s so hard to even begin to understand demented people if thats what you want to call them, like that. Especially when it comes to kids. I instantly see red. I mentioned to someone close to me what he had done to me. I was young. She never did anything. It literally took me 20 years after I was an adult to stop him. And then they let him out and I came face to face with him. Let’s just say I found my strength that day.
