Ice Agents at airports doing TSA….gee what could go wrong?
Well, it just confirmed for me to not fly. Long lines were bad enough, but if we don’t have to fly we should boycott so airlines will put pressure on the republicans and trumplethinskin.
Oh….and please any that can, join the 28th’s protest.
Tourism is already down and will plunge even more so with ICE in the airports. This is happening at the advent of the summer season. There are so many other places to spend your money. Why risk coming to the US?
In the early 1980s my husband won a trip through work to a resort in Dominican Republic. While we were on the compound the capital Santa Domingo had violent riots going on due to a rise in food prices. The compound was locked down, no one could leave to go into the nearby towns or the capital. The country put armed troops in the resort, fearing that Americans could be taken hostage. It was highly discomforting and not at all reassuring to see these unsmiling men walking around the grounds in full combat dress carrying what looked like the eras AR-15. And this was trained military.
How frightening and psychologically damaging will this be, especially to children, to be searched by armed thugs who are not trained in anything except thuggery. How many will be targeted due to the color of their skin or the language or even accent they may have.
This is madness, but what else should we expect coming from the mad despot "king"? I don't know if our country can survive another almost three years of this. I'll vote, I'll protest, but I'm very pessimistic this will accomplish a thing. The cult isn't going anywhere, and unfortunately they vote.

Iran rejecting it was the only rational move. Accepting ultimatums from someone who already broke the last agreement and bombed you during negotiations would be strategic suicide. Now we get the predictable next phase: “we gave them a chance, they chose this.”
The economic tracking matters: oil glut to supply shock, $150/barrel projections, rising foreclosures. Markets respond to Hormuz offline and 12 million barrels/day gone. This is the real-time cost of permanent emergency.
The domestic playbook is ICE deployments while missiles fly, culture war theater while infrastructure burns and isn’t distraction from incompetence. It’s the strategy. Flood the zone, normalize chaos, exhaust resistance.
What you’re doing matters because authoritarian movements rely on people stopping paying attention.

Capitulation is a non-starter to a rational military planner in Iran who intends to ensure the survival of a modern (in relative terms) 92M+ person, 2,500 year old civilization, especially since 45+ years of intelligent strategic and tactical planning give Iran the upper hand. It can choke the SofH indefinitely and destroy all to dare to test its resolve. It knows the world economic order is in chaos and has the ability to strike targets 2,500 miles distant, or more; yes, with diminishing accuracy. It can and will set oil production back for decades if that course is pursued against it (Kharg Island), creating inflation and a critical supply decrease of petroleum, essential in so many ways to the rest of the world. The more 47 says he does not want to escalate, the more likely escalation is. He sent ships while negotiating. Misdirection, just as the Fordow bombings last summer, with two weeks of discussion assured. Another deceptive weekend strike. The USMC is en route. The rabid rat cornered himself and is panicking. Taking us down is nothing to him. It is all about him.

Agree 100%. Let's start by electing people not beholden to PAC's, ending CU and outlawing lobbying. Politicians are supposed to be legislating for the betterment of the people and the country. Not the billionaires and their corporations.

In my opinion, these threats against Iran are unlikely to force Iran to reduce tensions. Today, we see that everything is more expensive than yesterday. All parties must come to the negotiating table, and I have to say, as an Afghan veteran, I’ve seen these tensions before unleashed on enemy forces by Trump. He left us Afghan veterans in the hands of ruthless enemies in Afghanistan.

Everything. I was trained in ground security when I worked in the airlines. They won't have any idea what they're doing.
Just like their current jobs...not a clue.
