Sunday Morning Message from MeidasTouch Founder

Hey Meidas Mighty. It’s the Sunday before Christmas. As you know, the Sunday post is my favorite, where I get to grab a cup of coffee with you and reflect on the week. I am having this cup of coffee a little later than usual since I’ve been on childcare duty and my 15-month-old is now walking (running) all over, which has made typing this out in the morning while drinking hot coffee a little more challenging. She’s napping again, so here I go.

Now to my Sunday post. I am drinking a black coffee, nothing in it. Obviously, I am reflecting on Trump’s awful cover-up of the Epstein files. In my prior career as a litigator, when I brought down billion-dollar Ponzi schemes or exposed corruption inside police departments with officers actually selling drugs, the cover-ups were far more sophisticated. In those instances, the criminals knew that if they were caught, they would be brought to justice, so they went through intricate ways to hide their schemes.

This is not the case with this criminal Trump regime. They have destroyed the Justice Department. They have a supine right-wing Supreme Court that gave Trump “absolute immunity.”

The criminal regime shows no concern for the laws they don’t enforce and openly break. In plain view, criminal Trump has violated the Epstein Transparency Act. In the small batch of documents they did produce—which is about 5 percent of the overall files, and where most of what was produced was entirely redacted—they have now deleted documents made public that included a photo of Trump. The criminal Trump regime has said the men who are implicated in Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring are the “new victims” and must be protected at all costs.

We have a criminal regime in the White House that is openly and willfully covering up a child sex trafficking ring. We have a criminal regime in the White House led by a convicted felon. Led by someone who has been found liable for sexual abuse and who is on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women. Led by someone who has been a lifelong fraud. Led by someone who has bankrupted company after company.

We know Trump’s name is in the files. We know Trump, Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell were close friends. This is not a point that can be disputed. What do you think they were doing together during that period of time—a period when they were also hanging out with other men who led so-called model agencies that were being used for grooming girls, with some of those men also dying under unusual circumstances?

It’s not just the cover-up of the Epstein files on display this week. It’s the cover-up of everything this week. There’s the cover-up of Trump’s health, with the refusal to turn over his MRI reports and credible medical information. Some are speculating he has dementia or early signs of Alzheimer’s, and his performance at a speech in North Carolina at the end of the week raised even more red flags. The White House’s claim that the bandages on his hand and the discoloration are from “many handshakes” is yet another example of how bad their lies are.

Then, of course, there is the cover-up of the video showing the United States military murdering survivors of a boat strike on September 2 off the coast of Venezuela. And speaking of Venezuela, the gangster Trump regime continues to seize tanker ships off the coast, trying to provoke a response that could be used as a pretext for war. The criminal regime desperately wants war to distract from its failures at home.

The American people don’t want war. The American people want healthcare. The American people want affordable things. The American people want to be paid a wage with dignity and be able to afford a home. We also want transparency and a government that follows the Constitution and supports democracy. The Trump regime and MAGA have betrayed the American people. Trump and MAGA literally shut down Congress and took an early vacation to deprive the American people of needed extensions of the Affordable Care Act subsidies.

With all of this going on, and as I finish my cup of coffee, the word I continue to think about in how the people have responded to all of this is “resiliency.” It’s remarkable how our institutions have largely bent the knee or been complicit in this madness and criminality—but what never bent or gave an inch was the people of this country.

Over the past year, the people of this country have made it clear we don’t want a dictatorship. We don’t want an oligarchy that subjugates us. We don’t want our books banned or our neighbors disappeared off the streets. We don’t want a mad king ruling by social media post and bragging about passing cognitive exams by recognizing the distinction between a giraffe and a hippopotamus. We don’t want to be allies with Putin. We don’t want to pull out of NATO or cancel funding for pediatric cancer. We don’t want this.

What I am most proud of is working with you to build a new force for good that stands up to these criminals. It was critical that we get the truth out and keep the people informed and united. I am thrilled we inspired a new generation of independent media that is meeting the moment. I am thrilled that we held the line—and will continue to hold the line—with you by our side.
