This one of the biggest reason that Russia does not care at all about the environment. Putin is completely fine with no ice, world be damned... Drill, baby, drill.

Can you blame us in Canada after being threatened by Trump? We are important to the US but Trump doesn't see it. ELBOWS UP CANADA! Keep on boycotting all US products, sorry for the sane Americans but we have to protect ourselves. We will never be the 51st state but some US states could become Canadian provinces.

I've served alongside Canadians in Afghanistan. Thank you for being there for us. And I'm sorry for the sad state of affairs created by our idiot president.

Patricia Turcotte's avatar

Thank you for your service 🙏

It is sad and terrifying what he is doing to your country and its reputation. 🇨🇦

70 year old American here. I applaud you for boycotting all US products. Absolutely NOTHING else will have even a chance of making an impact on the fascist regime other than a decrease in money coming into the country. Approximately 100,000,000 voted for Kamala, 100,000,000 voted for fascism and racism and 100,000,000 FAILED TO VOTE. Toxic outcome.

My dad was the son of Polish immigrants to the US. He was born here. I used to argue with him about his neglect of the right and obligation to vote. He died at almost 102, never having voted. Makes me sad.

My dad was born here to parents that grew up in Norway. He received an award for voting in every election! He inspired the right to vote in me! He always said that you dont have the right to complain about political subjects if you didn't vote!

Elbows up for sure 👍. We can’t trust the US again. PM Carney was there to protect our resources. F America !

What a terrific show from you both! Very informative.

The US needs to keep other challenges in mind while fighting the current fires: war and elections and Epstein files.

The Arctic is about to become a very big issue in 5 or so years - I’m hoping we can hold on there until Trump is gone.

Joan MacLeod's avatar

As a Canadian I was thrilled to see Canada open an Embassy Nuuk, Greenland to help protect Greenland and Denmark from the Trump Regime's threats. Also all the other European countries sending troops there.

What the US needs to do is get rid of the Trump Administration.

WE The People Demand More Of The Democratic Party

I don’t know about you but I get an incessant flow of emails daily about campaign contributions from Democrats running for office While it worked for Obama 18yy ago they’re beating a dead horse now because it’s difficult to know where the D’s stand on anything except “fund my campaign because I’m a Democrat”

While the Republican party may have been purged of anyone who isn't a fascist, look at the cover-up currently going on in New Mexico regarding Zorro Ranch and you will realize that some Democrats are also fascists. Be sure to vote in the primaries, and be sure to vote for the Democrat who's not in it for personal power and wealth.

Both parties have severe problems It's just the R's are in this case worse and their corruption is more visible The Democratic party has as many problems and it's time that it undergo a restructuring The anger from the talking Congressional heads in the media is not enough The D's need to be held accountable to WE the People No $$$ just because they have a D next to their name WE need to hear what their positions are on: expand SCOTUS, complete restructuring of voting laws, restructuring of DHS and elimination of ICE, meaningful immigration reform, national abortion access, stop funding Israeli military budget, demand campaign contribution reform, insisting on a wealth tax going after the oligarchic class WE the People demand more of our elected D representatives

As the primary season is getting under way Indivisible is getting behind specific candidates who aren't taking AIPAC or PAC $$$ and are supported by a supermajority(>80%) of Iocal Indivisible members examples Brad Ladner and Analillia Meija(NY) Julie Gonzales(Co) for Senate Jasmine Clark(Ga) Ross, Hill, Fox, and Little(Mn) and Flanagan(Mn) for Senate Randy Villegas(Ca) Peters(IL) Graham Platner(Me) for Senate Justin Pearson(Tn)

Admittedly, we have our own issues here in NM. However, we also have standouts like Rep. Melanie Stansbury. If you’re not familiar with her tenacity, please look her up. She has been a thorn in the side of this administration from her first term and has my complete respect. ✊🏽

Well aware of Rep Stansbury star power She's a great voice in the House She's received $55K from AIPAC....not a very large amount

Check out The Pugilist here on substack. An admirer of Stansbury, disillusioned, as she began investigating Zorro

ugh no, the entire reason the climate crisis has never been addressed is that the selfish vested interests WANT this last biologically diverse and critical realm to be destroyed for the profit motive, all life, including our own, be damned. We are already solely responsible for this 6th mass extinction event. The heating now of our oceans is already causing ecosystem breakdowns and the demise of whales and corals, for example. What a travesty! This is the only known, habitable, species-rich and amazing planet in the known universe. And we are vandalising and crushing it for a mere few years of mineral rights. Stop talking it up as a new $$$ channel and look at the cost to all life on this fragile spinning rock hanging alone in the vastness of space, a living planet that wouid have continued to be just as glorious and abundant, fresh, healthy and clean, as it had been for millions of years before humans began to see life itself, as a marketable commodity. 😡🤬

Thank you, for steering the topic back to nature & all creation in it. Of all animals on Earth, I'm most fascinated by whales. All kinds. All types of journeys they make. Their high intelligence and social lives. Their methods for wave-washing seals, off ice blocks, is a human-level of strategy.

All parts of me scream, when the corporate world wants ~even more~ shipping lanes to ship more STUFF. We all see the videos of ice calving, the raw vertical side of a glacier cracks and falls into the water. I'm so sad to know the speed at which glaciers are coming apart.

We are all stewards of Earth, for the years each of us is allowed to live here.

Far too many humans cannot think beyond themselves. (US gov't is now a forerunner of this destructive way to live). Humans take too many ideas to extremes... how often do you hear the words "monetize" and "unlock".

Already: research confirms that over 50% of Arctic marine mammal subpopulations overlap with industrial shipping lanes, facing fatal ship strikes and intense noise pollution.

Canada has 18 active icebreakers of different sizes, and is expanding, as Iris says. It's my understanding that it is the second largest fleet in the world. This conversation is hard to take in when the liar-in-chief is at the helm. He has threatened our sovereignty many times and has treated our country like shit. The current, unhinged president cannot be trusted. He is lawless, corrupt and dangerous. We share the longest, undefended border in the world, at 5,525 miles. Sometimes I feel like we need better security at OUR southern border 🤔

It's been documented that the Arctic is the fastest warming place on the planet. Many environmental organizations like Earth Justice are constantly fighting logging,, road building & drilling. AK is called the Last Frontier. Let's hope it doesn't become the Lost Frontier. Canada is vital to saving the Arctic, as it has the longest boundary with it. Canada & the USA share a long history of helping each other. A long ago event is the Great Halifax Explosion. Boston heard the call for help & rushed firemen & medical personnel to Halifax. In appreciation for their help, to this very year, Boston is sent a beautiful Christmas tree to decorate for the Holiday season. Since then we have helped each other fight fires, as late as in Biden's administration. I hope & pray our friendship can be rekindled. 'A friend in need is a friend indeed.' ALWAYS

Sandra Przybylski's avatar

Thank you. I had the pleasure of visiting the Maritime Provinces in May of 2024 with my family, when I visited the site of the Halifax Explosion & learned of the event. I live in Missouri & I'm so glad I visited when Biden was President. As an American, I fear our relationship with Canada & many other countries has been severely damaged.
