They could do so whether or not he had a criminal conviction because the standard would be whether he violated a rule of professional conduct. Personally, I would view a blatant constitutional violation such as paying insurrectionists as an offense where disbarment is the only appropriate disciplinary sanction. Any disbarment in one jurisdiction would cause Blanche to receive the same penalty in other states or courts where he is admitted to practice. If you get disciplined in one state where you’re admitted, you will be disciplined in every state or Federal jurisdiction where you’re admitted to practice.
