Canada is praying tRump is gone soon because we don't want to be the 51st state. Canada is a better place to live. We are not a communist country like he says and we pay for our own health care. We care enough about people to make sure everyone has free health care. It is cheaper when people are health.
Do NOT think that this election will fix what is wrong. The forces that want to undermine America and Democracy are still at work and must be dealt with. Like - the Billionaires, Christian Nationalists, White Supremists, the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, the Federalist Society and control of America's court systems, control of state government by forces wishing to shut out the voices and rights and freedoms of their constituents, the Roberts 6 and their continued silencing of the concerns of the people of America, etc. This election is a beginning to root out the damage, identify the causes and the players, fix the damage, and make sure it does not happen again...... Do NOT let up......... Stay active, pay attention, get involved, and do NOT quit...........
Absolutely!!! I don't think we can do a whole lot to fix what is wrong without big wins in the election but wow is it ever just a beginning. I worry a bit that even if there is a blue wave, folks will say "Whew, glad we won that, time to go back to pre election past times and lack of involvement". Personally I don't think we can show the world in two years that we are to be trusted so I don't see many great trade agreements, or many really bright scholars/doctors/scientists deciding to come or return to the US, or manufacturing (regardless of what the GOP says, manufacturing needs smart folks as the jobs that relied on persons with mostly the ability to follow instructions are being done by robots now). If you were a multi national corporation would you want to invest where there was an aging population and a younger population that didn't want to work very hard and bought all the lies trump has told them? If you were a doctor would you want to move your family to where health care was a low priority, child care as much as college and if you were a person of color, racism rampant? Its going to take years to reverse all the damage the GOP has done to our standing in the world community, and meanwhile those nations are forming alliances with each other and are moving on from America and there won't be reasons to return to as it was in the past. Having said that, I know next to nothing about world politics and economics and maybe I'm wrong. Maybe if there is a Blue Wave smart folks from other nations, especially persons of color will say Wow, good job America, I think my kids will be safe with you now, so I'll bring my expertise to you instead of say Canada, where there's a much better chance they will be safe and where they have a really smart leader who speaks in complete sentences about policies, not some man's ass.
The best thing that has come out of this is that we are now listening, watching, and seeing in real time how quickly democracy can fall and that it is up to every one of us to speak out, speak up, and fight for it. A lot of new laws are needed to insure that the next trumplike monster does not get away with what he has been able to get away with. Supreme Court overhaul should be the first thing that's addressed because legislation and laws mean nothing when the highest court of the land forgets that their loyalty is to the Constitution and the people.
