I don’t think it will take decades, I believe it will take elections with the super majority of citizens turning out and voting in 2026 and then 2028 to take back our country and its constitutional democracy, ridding us all of this criminal insane regime, repairing and stabilizing our allied relationships in existence over the past 80 years. It will take patience, as well since the destruction has been fast and furious and recovery takes time.
Don’t get me wrong. I believe things can be restored. But elections will not repair the lost trust from our allies, the destruction of the WH, armed goons killing American citizens, hundreds of thousands of dead from cuts to USAID, and government agencies they decimated. As a Canadian, I would like to add that the Kingdom of Denmark also includes the quasi-autonomous territory of Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic. Also, both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are represented by two Members each in the Folketing, the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark. (The unincorporated Insular Territories of the United States do NOT have any effective representation in the United States House of Representatives, and that includes the District of Columbia.)
The U. S. Embassy's reaction to the planting of flags honoring the Danish fallen in Afghanistan and Iraq is despicable in my opinion, and I assume that they were planted outside the United States extraterritorial zone in Copenhagen.

Debb I so agree on the need for those running for office that they should have to take a test on our Constitution and the others you mentioned! I have said that about the Constitution for years! Also they should have to pass a test on State laws if they are running for a position that represents their State.

Denigrating the Danish solders that gave their all fighting with their counterparts is abhorrent. The reason the sub surface and get the sailor onto Greenland shores was the fact they have Universal health care and the US care is just too expensive lol. I don't think Denmark is a member of the Board of Peace. Trump is just giving the middle finger to NATO and all the US long term allies. He is busy gathering up all the despots for membership.
