Absolutely horrible but closely confirms on a slightly different way what Ken filmed in his ‘Drone Hunters of Kherson’. And it’s good to see this is also part of the Valor Media Network. Hard to believe these heroic Ukrainians can persevere against such misery for these 4 years. Thank you, Ken, for bringing this to us, this time thru MeidasTouch. We need to be more aware.

Putin is further despicable in that he and Zalensky are both Orthodox Christians. Zalensky has never bombed religious or civilian targets, yet Putin recently bombed the ancient Pechersky Monastery & Cathedral, and continues to bomb and use humans as this article depicts, and call for cease fires around the Paschal and other Sacred Holidays of the Orthodox Church, and violate the very cease fires that he himself has called for. He is a callous, cold, and despicable human being, yet a "close friend" of our president.

I have had a Ukraine yard flag in front of my house since the ground thawed in April 2022. The flag there now is the third; the first two wore out. I will fly the blue & gold until Ukraine is whole and free. There will be a reckoning for Russia's crimes, and for the U.S. legislators who still withhold sanctions and aid that could be saving lives. Slava Ukraini!

I used to worry about Askania Nova... with each new report, it's becoming harder for me to find sympathy for the Russian zealot tourists who are stupid enough to come to the area and find later on that they can't easily get back home. The Ukrainian citizens in Kherson never deserved this. The Russians need to go. They have plenty of swamps to populate. They don't need to be in Ukraine.

Just a suggestion to help some western readers understand the way you explain a river's geography. I learned this from my Ukranian wife when I was pointing out that I was confused from reading about which bank the Ruzzians and Ukranians occupied. My learning has taught me to look at the bank of a river and orient my sense of direction (east bank, west bank) based on a compass north and south.

At least in Ukraine, the east-west bank label is strictly a function of the flow of the river. A river flowing south like the Dnieper River, would have the Ukranian "east bank" on the western side of the river. And the "west bank" where the Ruzzians are located are on the eastern side of the river.

We need to keep the Ukrainian people in our thoughts and prayers.

We need to let them know that we see them and we support them.

We will not turn a blind eye to what is happening to them.

Fear is a potent weapon, especially when you know you will be targeted if you speak up.

When will our world wake up to the reality that we are all one humanity? When we kill the other we are killing ourselves as well.

As we have seen in the past you cannot destroy the human spirit. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🙏🙏🙏

How To Be A Dissident In The Age Of Authoritarianism

The takedown of democratic governments these days doesn’t occur with a military coup or some forceful takeover, they occur through elections. Recently it’s occurred in Venezuela, Russia, and Hungary. Now it’s occurring here in America. But because the takeover is not sudden and a shock to the system and slowly brings the population/electorate along, it becomes painless, almost cordial in its invitation to a “better life”.

But because it’s slow in the takeover, it means the electorate has off ramps to combat the takeover as we saw in Hungary and Brazil recently. But now in the age of AI and technology, surveillance states have become increasingly threatening.

A couple of days ago Rachel Maddow(https://bit.ly/4gQWTII) talked with Julia Angwin and Ami Fields-Meyer who are authors of "On Courage: How to be a dissident in an age of fear”. There are a variety of ways people can throw sand in the gears of authoritarianism to preserve democracy and this book helps with historical references as to how to do such.

For example, dissidents can become witnesses of the authoritarian regime and document state violence(“We will know who you are”…a promise of accountability). The book looks like a real help for the next 2.5y of suffering that WE the People will have to go through.

Most of all, we must not turn our backs and refuse to see what is happening.
