It is really difficult to understand, since several victims have been in publicly displayed videos, discussing intimate details of their victimization that they have been ignored or minimized by media and the courts. Why does the perpetrator get all the coverage, with only minimal coverage of the victim's actual recall?

Unfortunately the fact that the victims are ignored is not limited to Trump’ s Illegitimate DOJ. The justice system as a whole in our country treats victims of sexual abuse, rape and domestic abuse abysmally. Since women are the victims in these crimes, they are dismissed as partially culpable in what happened to them! And sadly for women, this will INCREASE under Trumps leadership, because of the takeover of our justice system and democracy by the “FAKE” Christian Nationalist agenda! 🤬😫🤬

NOT 'MOST PROBABLY A LIE.' IT IS A LIE. Because truth can only incriminate the swine in 100% OF HIS MISERABLE, SWINISH EXISTENCE, so he and everyone around his piggy carcass has to lie 100% of the time! Only his MAGAT supporters are stupid enough to believe the lies. And because they are moronic enough to believe the lies, they do not possess the brain power to EVER realize that they were mistaken, so it's pointless to try to make them see and understand. Ergo, they don't count. Ignore them. Just as we have to ignore the billions of germs inhabiting every square inch of our living environment. We ignore them because there's not a damn thing we can do about them. Those that threaten our lives, however, we kill. Without hesitation or remorse. There is nothing else you can do with germs that are dangerous. You sure as hell don't try to reason with germs, and you don't detain them in holding pens. You kill them.

I hear your hate, but at a certain point it sounds amazingly like the hate we hear from the far right. Of course Trump needs to be opposed, and of course his supporters are complicit in his crimes, but not everybody who voted for Trump has the same mental defects, and notably a growing number are starting to get buyer's remorse. When people feel attacked, they rarely start thinking friendly thoughts, in fact they invariably start getting defensive and rationalizing their choices making it even harder for them to ever admit they made an 'oops'. Our best case scenario is to win with Democracy, which means getting enough votes to win enough.

We are sick and tired of running scared from these fascist thugs, afraid to talk back. WE think it's time we started threatening their existence. We are fighting back. We are expressing our rage and hatred of their fascist takeover of our country. And we believe that CONTINUING to mew about how doing so only exacerbates the problem, that we must rely on our voting power (which is being eroded even as we speak) to defeat these monsters is what got us into this position in the first place! I am not trying to tell you to think how I think, just telling you what I think.

I have had a lot of intense emotions in my life and often they ended up getting in the way of my ability to think effectively. What I learned is I can oppose something, with my life if need be, with absolute resolve, without the blinding hate or other extreme emotion. I still have emotions, I just work to make sure they are simply providing motivation, not doing my thinking for me.

When people are confronted with hate, their thinking tends to stop as well, so, especially in an arena where there might be the opportunity to persuade people, I try to not confront them with strong emotions, as I would rather their conversion not feel coerced.

Your mileage may vary.

Agreed with both... I think the analogy was to keeping the regime in the courts. The hate from the MAGAnuts is is not our battle. The fight is in the courts and the legislation. We need to end this with our votes, protest and boycotts. We The People still hold power and will not let them pacify us with a instructed audiotape confession from a convicted perjurer and sex trafficker.

Expand full comment
Douglas Gilligan's avatar

While I disagree with the hate and do support the fight in the courts, we also have to recognize our current SCOTUS has been corrupted, as has been the current House and Senate. I dearly want to win in the elections, but if the post election analysis shows that the popular vote was not even closely represented by the number of Representatives, and if Trump retains control and continues to destroy this nation... Well, I also agree with your statement "We The People still hold power" and should never forget it. But, if the majority really want to destroy this historic nation, I will either hunker down or move to another country, because things will get worse, because the power does belong to the people...

Because I think a large segment of our country (thank goodness not the majority) brainwashed by right wing media outlets, will excuse and deflect any legitimate reality of corruption, sexual assault and abuse by their godking who they have anointed as their all powerful leader. Sounds like a deposition when questioned by her defense attorney...

She did not really need any coaching. She knows who the president is, and not just by name. She knows him well from 'way back'.

She was already known to lie under oath, but she KNEW that she would never be prosecuted for any of these lies, and that her eventual pardon would include these lies under its umbrella.

The only person who revealed anything was Todd Blanche in his questioning.

It is classic in the art of interrogation, that questions reveal so very much about the questioner. Their focus, their knowledge, intent, what they want to know... In an abusive interrogation it leads the 'suspect' into giving the answers the questioner clearly wants to hear. In this one, it helped guide Maxwell to give the answers desired. It is not simply what is being asked, it is in context to the other questions being asked, in what order, then we get to tone, inflections and timing.

Of course she lied. She wanted a better prison and wanted an eventual pardon.
