THIS IS UTTERLY INFURIATING!!!! It makes my blood boil just to read this—but by the same token, I am not at all surprised that he would use LG’s death as a tool to push his agenda forward. He is despicable and evil. There is not a single fiber of his being that has any decency or awareness of what is appropriate. My husband was diagnosed with dementia after a string of occurrences where he said and did things that were completely out of character for him, and that were dangerous to himself and those around him. The doctor that diagnosed him called it disinhibition. Trump didn’t develop that character— he was born that way. The evilness of DJT’s soul has been there since the day he was born. I can’t wait until this fucking nightmare is over.
I took care of Alzhimers, dementia patients, cancer patients, stroke, ,you name it I cared for them in my ACLF
In my home. It's tragic what your husband had to go through, luckily he had you .
We all see with our eyes, we hear his utterly non sencical words, he is incapable of a structural sentence, never read a book in his life, no knowledge of anything
You write so beautifully!!!💕💕 I have been a caregiver for the past 15 years for 4 different family members, and I watched them, one by one, fall prey to this terrible disease called dementia. It is not for the faint of heart. But I can honestly say it was the most fulfilling and rewarding thing that I could have done for them. I wouldn’t change a thing—-and, I discovered that, at the age of 63, I finally found my calling in life! Now that they are all gone, I have been caregiving for other families that have a family member in need of care from dementia. Every day is a new adventure, and I feel like I’m truly making a difference! It’s so interesting how life brings you to these places that you never expected.🥰
I cared for the elderly for 17 years. They lived with me , I am also a retired teacher. Taught special Education, all the soles I cared for became family to me and my daughter. She was 13 when I started this, I was 43
I am 74 now, she is 46
We still refer to the 45 families we cared for with Alzhimers diseases, dementia, Parkinson diseases, strokes, cancer. I had 6 patients at one time
It was the most incredible journey in my life. Other than being a mother, and an Educator.
Rump was born evil, he was evil as a child, evil to his 1st wife, who said he'd beat her and rape her
He murdered her just the day before she was to reveal information he didn't want out. He murdered EPSTEIN, hoping he's burning in hell
This inhumane thing was a horrible father, raping his daughter, horrible to his son's as well. A pattern of bullying, raping women, on that TV taped recording with Billy from Acess Entertainment TV. Remember that. Patterns of malignant narcissistic sociopath, pathological lier, borderline disorder, pedophile, suspect in child murders, the last goes on and on
Racist for his lifetime, refused to let people of any color live in his father's buildings. Slept with Hitlers book by his bedside.
Diabolical, madman, mentally deranged, never should be where he is now. He should be
Locked up in prison, 34 counts, he's a felon, and now registered sex offender.
He must be removed
He must pay for every crime committed.
Before he dies a miserable painful death. Karma is coming for him
Although I totally agree with your description of the current occupant of the White House, I do not agree that he was born that way. He was brutally formed into who he is by the demented relationship that his father perpetrated upon him (pure cruelty, sneering criticism, withholding attention as punishment, always comparing him to others, impossible standards, emotional and mental abuse, which left him without a shred of empathy, incapable of being honest, needing to and eventually enjoying putting everyone around him down, always needing to prove himself and always coming up short so he learns to cheat, to wear a mask, to always be on the defensive. He learned to dish it out, to never admit fault, and to claw his way up by watching his father, who had been taught by HIS father, an utterly ruined person of no character himself.
His mother was no charm either. I read a book on the making of a sociopath. A key factor is lack of bonding with the caregiver in early infancy. From what it sounds like, his mother was not there for him in his early years. Maybe postpartum depression after his birth or maybe there were mental health issues with mom. The not bonding with a caregiver leads to the infant instinctively not trusting anyone since their needs were not met. You can't develop empathy for others if no one ever showed it to you. Dad was a real trip. Cruel and utterly lacking in parental skills. Seems though that Trump was the only one of his siblings to be so evil. Felt sorry for his older brother Fred. Sounds like he was a decent guy, dad treated him horribly and he died of alcoholism in his 40's. Can you imagine if Trump drank? Actually, if he would have, he'd probably be with Satan by now.
I agree that he was not born this way. As psychiatrist and violence expert Dr. Bandy Lee, who has joined other leading experts in calling for Trump's immediate evaluation and removal from office, has said, "We know that Donald Trump is himself a victim of abuse. He has to dominate, control, and attack preemptively in order to feel safe. What needed to happen was to keep him from power, to teach him that displays of force are not the best way to reduce intolerable feelings of shame and humiliation....Placing him in an office he is unfit for has only ballooned his expectations, making him angrier and more vengeful over his own incompetence, and has brought unprecedented destruction to our country....That his grandiosity would transmogrify into grotesque delusions of grandeur, and his narcissism into violent, insatiable megalomania, was only a matter of course, once he occupied the most powerful position on the planet."
The terrible burden all of us are bearing with this regime in power must be minuscule compared to the faux sycophants who pretend that this has a shred of sanity. Lindsey internally couldn’t bear the contradictions.
Graham sold his soul when he betrayed his closest friend & colleague, John McCain, in exchange for assumed power by becoming butt buddies with djt. The joke’s on Graham, as tRump’s demented sociopathy has no concept of friendship; much less truth. Can anyone say “term limits” for all our representatives (and Judges). When one becomes too old and disinhibited to know RIGHT from WRONG, one must be relieved of duty and kept in forced containment. IMPEACH, INDICT & IMPRISON trump!
Yes of course we need term limits. But we also need to not be able to elect convicted felons, not sit back and let said felon plunder the country for his own gain, and beyond anything else need a party to defend against this plunder with strength and determination, not the weakness we've been seeing since 2016.
It's easy enough to understand why Trump wants the SAVE bill passed.
He is thinking that disqualifying enough women, POC, and poor people will save his party during the midterm elections and save his butt from the justice that is long overdue.
Yes! I’m a female Veteran and it took me many months to get my enhanced driver’s license due to changing my name when I was married, divorced, and married again, and moving around with the military. A man does NOT have to go through this.
Not my call, but maybe it's time for women simply to keep their maiden names upon marriage, or at least go with hyphenation. Name children as you like, but you are still you after you marry--not an appendage of someone else--and you shouldn't have to turn somersaults to prove you're you.
There once was a time in my memory when women wouldn't even be blessed with a first name when they married. They became "Mrs. John Smith," obliterating their identity completely.
I do genealogy. I remember that. Also, Scandinavian women came over with “datter” at the end of their names. US immigration changed it to “son”. Example: Jonsdatter became Johnson.
I didn't know that. It's just more proof that women have been treated like property for too long.
We women have had to fight and claw just for the right to be heard. And we hear very little about the sacrifices of the suffragettes -- especially those in England who were beaten, fired from their work, deserted by their husbands, imprisoned, force-fed, and even died fighting just for the right to vote.
That right was dearly won, and we've had to struggle ever since for the God-given right to be able to achieve the objectives that our individual gifts deserve. The SAVE Act is just another way to keep us quiet and under the thumb of the patrimony.
So what about the women who took their husbands' names when marrying? It's great advice going forward but does nothing for the millions upon millions of women, who according to the Monday morning quarterbacks, should has just somehow known better.
I agree with you. Most women took their husband's last name, as they have done for generations.
If the SAVE act goes through, I'm going to pull every bit of documentation I have -- my birth certificate, my current and expired driver's licenses, my marriage license, and my past and current passports -- and carry those with me to the polling place.
I've been married 49 years and have no idea where my marriage cert. is. I do have a license and birth cert. We've lived in this town since 1985 and have been voting here since 1985. It's disgusting that, all of a sudden, I many no longer be able to vote. Our eldest daughter is divorced but kept her married name due to the expense and hassle of changing it. Women shouldn't have to spend precious time and money acquiring all of these documents. It's also expressly illegal since it's not only discriminatory but in essence is a poll tax-completely forbidden by the Constitution. If the a-hole in chief would ever bother to read it. I have doubts he would be able to comprehend it though.
I would like to take all of those government-issued documents that I've kept -- even the expired ones -- and throw them all on the table in front of the poll worker if I'm required to show ID. I'll ask them which ones in my pile they would like to see first.
A lot of women are in the same boat you are when it comes to putting their hands on these government-issued IDs ("Your papers, please!").
My cousin's widow not only doesn't have a marriage license, but we can't find the courthouse or notary where the marriage was performed. She has no proof that she's even married, but she does have my cousin's last name. She's been voting by mail ever since her husband died, and she doesn't drive. I worry about her and about other people they are trying to catch in this net.
I appreciate and share your outrage, and I agree with you !00%
That's all well and good going forward but it's totally unhelpful for those of us who did. I've been married and voting for 49 years! Who could have predicted things would come to this? As always, hindsight has 20/20 vision. And, as always, it's totally irrelevant and, seemingly, blames the victim since it implies we should have just "known better".
Who makes you think you should have known better"? How, indeed, could anyone have known it would come to this, and that we would have a president, Congress, and Supreme Court who would take away our rights as women instead of expanding our rights as a real democracy would?
Those of us who kept our maiden names or hyphenated our names are the exceptions to the rule. Most women took their husband's name.
This is the only reason why these reprehensible people want to pass the SAVE act.
It sure seems like Judith M believes so. Had we been able to foresee the future we probably would have thought twice. As I wrote hindsight has 20/2o vision. I don't know anyone, even those decades younger than me who didn't take her husband's name when she married.
I took Judith's remark to mean that from here on out women should consider keeping their last names when they marry.
I agree with you about the long-established practice of women taking their husband's last names when they marry.
Frankly, if I had been in my 20s when I married instead of my 50s, no doubt I would have taken my husband's last name, especially if I was considering having a family. However, my husband and I understood the rationale for keeping my maiden name, and I did take his last name as a courtesy; they know me by his name in his country. After 50 years living all my life in the USA under my maiden name and building a life and career as a single woman, no one would recognize me by my married name.
I have two very close friends who kept their maiden names, and they are both Boomers who are younger than I. There have been a handful throughout my life, but very few, and all my age or younger.
But what little integrity the GOP had when Reagan and Gingrich transformed the party has totally been exploded with Trump. We can't trust them going into the mid-terms because winning is more important than their constituents or the Constitution they took a vow to.
Donald Trump is pure, unadulterated evil. That cannot be argued. Case in point, whenever he and his horrifying voice come on the tv, my dog goes bonkers barking and growling. Dogs have more sense than some people.
Very true Geri. Also, there is NO SUPPORT from elected trumpthuglicans. They dont care either. Fetterman and Mc Cormick are teaming up. Bad news for PA
By dropping dead, Lindsey Graham really did do something to "save America".
May Trump, McConnell, Grassley, Bannon, and all other Trump supporting Banana-Republicans follow his timely and patriotic example - the sooner, the better.
Fetterman may want to do the same, just to make the effort bipartisan.
I'm sure you are right, but I still hope that inside somewhere, an old or older Republican remembers life before trump and his cult. I am also hoping that things going on at the moment beyond our control will effect the larger entity we call Democracy. Thanks, Doc, for replying.
This is why we cannot trust the Republican Party. They must be made to wander in the political desert for forty years before they can ever be considered fit for office again. That should purge them of the horrific choices they have made for our country.
I had a long conversation in my grocery store with the produce manager (who I am pretty sure is a trump supporter) about strawberries yesterday! He was furious that they could not order enough from their distributor because customers won't pay what the tariffs are causing in sky-high prices, and those coming from California cost more due to fuel increases!
Also, PLEASE pass the following paragraph about the SAVE AMERICA ACT along to those who are less well-informed than we are, or who are on the fence!
"... why is Trump so hellbent on passing this legislation that he would not only exploit Graham’s death, but even try to sacrifice his own housing bill? It’s because, as Trump himself says, passing the Save America Act would enable Republicans to “not lose an election for 100 years.” Trump will claim the Save America Act is about voter ID; it’s not. At its core, this bill is federal control over how all fifty states register and verify voters: there would be a nationwide proof-of-citizenship mandate, where the Trump administration would be the arbiter of who is or is not a citizen; states would be forced to hand their voter rolls over to the Department of Homeland Security, where they would decide who stays on those rolls; and there would be a functional end to mail-in voting outside a narrow list of exceptions, which disproportionately impacts the Democrats. It would amount to the federal government consolidating authority that has sat with the states for the entire history of this country, and putting it in the hands of an administration that has already shown exactly what it wants to do with that power. Again, Trump said it: Democrats wouldn’t win another election for 100 years. And for posterity, nobody who genuinely believes in free and fair elections tells you the payoff is a hundred years of uninterrupted control."
Sympathy for you! I live near Oxnard California, the strawberry capital of the USA. The berries are sweet, juicy, and delicious now. Strawberry's are sold by the side of the road, fresh picked from the fields!
I’ll be buying your book on Tuesday. The reason the Save Act is so important to Trump is that he knows Republican policies are hated by the majority of Americans. Tariffs, no healthcare, cutting regulations that keep us healthy, needless war with Italy, etc. Republicans cannot win an election without cheating or putting major restrictions on voting,
We will all return the favor when donnie dementia meets his fate. He won't be able to find but a few people to even attend his burial. Those that do will be there to make sure he left.
If the Trump Arch is completed by the time a Democrat President and DC Mayor are in office, I hope they issue orders to NOT remove any graffitti from the Arch! Let the public express their opinions withs spray paint!

I love what you wrote
I am sorry about your husband and the painful journey that is. I am very familiar with that too
I feel you, I see you I agree with you.
The entire administration of lies and deception are so obvious to the entire world.
The end is coming for all the traitors
We know exactly who they are
Karma, black dark horrible Karma is coming for each and every one of them.
We, Americans must stay united, screaming louder in red states....
Nothing is going unnoticed now
Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words—I’m right here with you.💕💕

Just pure evil
Pure madness
Pure hatred. The world sees
We see, never to be fooled again
I have had no sleep in 11 years
Health issues from this nightmare
Worried for our world, our children
Suffering is coming for him
We pray he's in agony every moment of every day.

No, Janice Darling, he was absolutely born this way. It was genetic. Nature, not nurture.
Even Jeffrey Epstein once said. "DT has no scruples."
His mother was no charm either. I read a book on the making of a sociopath. A key factor is lack of bonding with the caregiver in early infancy. Yes, I tell everyone this, not just the women
I hypenated mine when I married, and two of my best friends kept their last names.
Hypenated names became popular with the rise of the women's movement in the 70s, but people still do a double-take decades after.
The societal conditioning is strong.
I just hope the POS lives long enough to face justice. He slips out of all accountability. It is maddening!
After all the machinations the right wing will do the Dems will have VERY LITTLE room for error.
But the Party knows that's not going to work.

Donald Trump is pure, unadulterated evil. That cannot be argued. Case in point, whenever he and his horrifying voice come on the tv, my dog goes bonkers barking and growling. Dogs have more sense than some people.
Dogs do NOT like DRUmpf....they can sense something wrong.
Great article, but Trump’s motivation was not a secret or a surprise.
To us Trump's motivation is clear, but I think there are too many other people who need it pointed out.
They still don't believe. And they still want to harm non-magas. If you live in a deeply red area, it's dangerous to point it out.
Very true Geri. Also, there is NO SUPPORT from elected trumpthuglicans. They dont care either. Fetterman and Mc Cormick are teaming up. Bad news for PA
Trump is sick
Trump can't make the money he and his family make doing anything other than the wholesale robbery of this country.
Trump is a sick-o
Trump is evil.
Sad part is this bastard is such a narcissist he honestly doesn't realize he does anything wrong. Still thinks everyone loves him.
I don't think he expects love. I think he expects servitude. There's a difference.
Hell no to the Save Act.

Thank you, Brian!
Sympathy for you! I live near Oxnard California, the strawberry capital of the USA. The berries are sweet, juicy, and delicious now. Strawberry's are sold by the side of the road, fresh picked from the fields!
Buy the book! Just don’t buy through Amazon.
After a period of time "Autographing" the Arch, they could tear it down on say the 4th. of July.
BTC!! Great to see you here.
So maybe Jake can write a book about Trump's mental, physical, and moral (can he go lower) decline?
