The same government that orders troops to patrol U.S. streets now cuts their healthcare, mental health support, and food assistance. Gratitude has become exploitation.
65% of voters who served in the military voted for Trumpty Dumpty. They've made it known that their oath is to TD rather than to the Constitution and the American people.
They have NOT made that known. They have believed he was in their corner and supported them, he and his jingoistic minions. But they are learning the truth. Let’s welcome them to the ranks of the awakened, with our eyes open, and theirs opening …
Nothing is universal. So? Dont paint the whole military with one brush unless you are trying to undermine the awakening of the country to the Trumpian MAGA threat. Recognize that the majority of people are waking up. Shown in the recent votes and most polls..
He himself raped several children ages 10-13, and not just little girls... Katie Johnson 13, Kelly Feuer 12, Michael Parker 10, Maria Olivera 12, Charles Bacon 11, Rebecca Conway 13, Kevin Noll 11. He was diagnosed by the courts with Pedophilic Disorder
These are groundbreaking claims! I'd love to write about it! Can you reply with a link to where you found proof that Trump was diagnosed with Pedophilic Disorder? And where did you get the list of names of these victims? Please reply with that link too so I can site it in my writings! Thank you in advance! I too want to see Trump removed and tried!
I am embarrassed that WE have hurt our best friend and Our neighbor. I am Brokenhearted for us all, this FOOL in Office has made a mockery of us all and to all our allies. And I will stop now because I won't be able to stop myself here.
But seriously, Tell Everyone you know that we are fighting and that most of us are very sorry.
Does anyone remember Trumps 1st term he told a family he would pay to bury their daughter who was Spanish, who lost her life serving our country. Someone in the Oval Office handed Trump the bill for $8000.00 dollars, and said quote "it doesn't cost $8000.00 dollars to bury a Fucking Mexican". He was caught on tape saying this. This came out while Trump was running for President in 2025. That's how much this President thinks about the Military. Disgraceful.
Yes I remember and it was a disgrace and you wonder if any Republicans ever served and what do they about their Felon? I didn't vote for him for right threw his lies as well those cowards spineless disgusting disgraceful Republicans. To our military men, women and veterans Thank you for your brave and service and God bless you.
They need to replay it for all to see again and again. But our News media kisses trumps ass now. And yes I had forgotten about it probably because it was so damned disgusting. That's what he thinks about all of us, make no mistake.
I am Keeping this as a reminder of just how fucking evil this all is. I might even get a T-shirt made with this statement. This just cannot be forgotten.
Don’t you know we have to use those funds to Rehab that jet for $1 billion and pay for Trump’s golf while our veterans suffer and our people are starved and they refuse to swear in our congressman and pardon all their cronies and spend millions of dollars on frivolous, stupid lawsuits
Trump doesn't love anyone but himself. Not his children, wife, grandchildren or even the people he considers friends. He is simply incapable of caring for others. He is a deeply, dangerously flawed person who should be in prison.
Conversely, none of them give a damn about him. Imagine going through life without loving or being loved, or even knowing what the meaning of it is. That is why he is an empty shell of person, that no amount of billions, crypto or power can ever fulfill.
Trump’s Negative Remarks About the U.S. Military and Veterans
Fact-Checking and Contextual Analysis
Prepared for Alexia Vitalia by AI Lumielle — November 2025
I. POWs and John McCain
Donald Trump’s comments about Senator John McCain, a decorated Navy veteran and former POW, are among his most criticized remarks about U.S. service members.
At a 2015 campaign event, Trump said: “He’s not a war hero.
He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
He also called McCain a “loser” and later continued to disparage him even after his death, saying,
“I was never a fan of John McCain and I never will be.”
These statements drew outrage across the political spectrum because McCain symbolized resilience and sacrifice for the nation’s veterans, making the remarks deeply offensive to POWs and their families.
Citations: Des Moines Register, July 18, 2015; Associated Press, March 2019; CNN, March 2019.
II. Fallen and Wounded Service Members
In 2020, The Atlantic and other outlets reported that President Trump referred to fallen U.S. service members as “losers” and “suckers” during a 2018 trip to France for a World War I commemoration.
He allegedly questioned why Americans would volunteer for military service and asked aides to keep “wounded guys” out of parades because “it doesn’t look good for me.”
Though Trump denied the comments, multiple officials later corroborated them. Veterans’ groups described these remarks as demoralizing and disrespectful to the sacrifices of those killed or wounded in service.
Citations: The Atlantic, Sept. 3, 2020; Military Times, Sept. 2020; The Guardian, Sept. 2020.
III. Gold Star Families
During the 2016 campaign, Trump attacked the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, a U.S. Army officer killed in Iraq.
After the soldier’s father, Khizr Khan, spoke at the Democratic National Convention, Trump implied that Ghazala Khan, the Gold Star mother, remained silent for religious reasons, saying she “had nothing to say.”
This comment was widely condemned by veterans’ organizations and political leaders for targeting grieving parents who lost a son in service to the country.
Citations: ABC News, July 30, 2016; NPR, July 31, 2016; Washington Post, August 2016.
IV. U.S. Generals and Military Leadership
Reports from Trump’s presidency detail confrontations with top U.S. generals and Pentagon leaders. In a 2017 meeting, Trump reportedly called senior officers “a bunch of dopes and babies”
and said, “I wouldn’t go to war with you people.”
He also suggested that generals were “losers.”
These statements undermined morale within the military’s leadership ranks and contributed to friction between the White House and the Department of Defense.
Citations: Washington Post, Sept. 2021; Rolling Stone, Oct. 2022; Business Insider, Nov. 2022.
V. Summary and Context
While some of the remarks above are recorded on video and others come from multiple-source reports, each instance sparked public concern about presidential respect toward those who serve. Veterans’ organizations, military families, and bipartisan lawmakers have consistently emphasized that reverence for the armed forces transcends political differences and is foundational to American unity.
“Respect for those who serve is a national duty beyond politics.”
I believe Sinclair Lewis said the following. I am not sure of the exact words but basically he said, when fascism comes to the United Stares, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a Bible. We have seen examples of t/rump doing both of those things. Bottom line: if someone doesn’t thing t/rump and the Rethugs are all about fascism, then those who think they aren’t are not paying attention.
I’m almost 80 years old and live on Social Security, mostly. I wish I could afford to support all the people and causes that are fighting this good fight. If my fortunes take a turn for the better, I certainly will. For now, all I can do is read, and comment, and support with energy and assent.
Hoping your finances are better than mine. For the present … Onward.
Thank you, dear Melissa! I share your sentiments and cherish the sacrifice of all our veterans. Trump is not worthy of stepping on the hallowed soil of Arlington. I fervently hope the "best thing" will come sooner rather than later. Take care.
My sweet friend SFGal. You know my feelings. I hope his ballroom becomes his tomb. They should embalm him like Lenin or Evita, and charge entrance fees for his MAGA faithful to stand on line to view him until they make enough money back to fumigate and de-gold (is that a word?) the White House then tear the ballroom down with his body in it. Or Elon can do humanity a favor and drop a Starlink Satellite on it like Donnie Darko did to the East Wing. One drop and it's done. Dust to dust. 🙏 Arlington? He is not getting Arlington with an eternal flame.🔥 He's got a flame in store for him, but not on the hallowed ground of Arlington. More like fire and brimstone and sulphur on the elevator down.
I love hearing from you with your bold clearly-stated sentiments and perspectives that resonate with so many of us, Robin. Maybe Miller will be his bunk buddy in that version of the eternal flame. Oh, BTW, since you mentioned Evita of Argentina, as Melei was at MAL's latest hot weekend partay, the future DT crystal coffin could permanently lay in state in Buenos Aires. They could charge admission and pass out hats. Thank you for sharing.
That would really be something. No one is a bigger sycophant, suck up and ass kisser to him than Miller, so the thought of the two of them going down that flaming escalator...oooh..it just gave me such feels 🤣😂🤗 Oh, by all means...that Argentinian President with the bad wig owes us something for $40 billion. Evita's glass coffin would be an even trade as long as he's immediately in it!
Didn't know Milei wears a wig. Now that you mention it guess it should have been obvious were I more observant. Yeah, glass coffins all around, part of $40 billion better spent. I love the vision of a flaming escalator going down!
My Dad was a proud WWII veteran. 39 months as a navigator in the Army Air Corps (there was no Air Force until after WWII and both my uncles also served in the Pacific) and 9 months in the Mighty Eighth Air force based in England. European Theatre. 35 missions where you never knew if you took off if you were coming back. I miss him every single day but I am grateful he is not alive to see this. He knew Donnie Darko and his father Feeble Fred and absolutely despised both of them. I always trusted my father's judgement of people's character and he was right on the money with these two. (Every morning and night I check to see if he's dead yet. What a way for us to live.)
What a fascinating piece of history, Robin! Theirs was indeed the Greatest Generation! I sadly share your final parenthetical statement, indeed unfortunate we've been reduced to that state of mind.
Aloha. From the COCONUT WIRELESS. ............................... MUCH MAHALO for honoring the veterans today on your page..I will wear the uniform proudly again if asked ...................................................... These are the eight Democratic Senators saving Donald Trump and MAGA.
Reading the words of our anguished soldiers made me cry. They should not be put in this type of situation. I feel relieved for myself and my fellow citizens, though, to know that our armed forces still understand that their oath and loyalty is to our constitution, not to a felon.
There is an old guy, my age, who lives down the road from me who is a Veteran. He is probably the most racist person I know. He came by one day and we were just talking and he brings up trump. I thought, "Here we go". I decided I might as well get the argument going and said that I had no use for him. The old guy agreed! He basically said that trump was disrespectful to the military and he couldn't stand him.
A week or so ago I stopped by his house and he and his son, same age as my son, 50 years old were outside on the porch. Found out the old guy has cancer and the son has been looking for work for 2 years and only recently found a part time job. The son worries about leaving his father alone. I suggested he see if he could do home care. He said no because his father is a veteran.
The son said that he had applied for home care from the vets; but, not heard back. He then got the paperwork out and said that he didn't understand it. No damn wonder, I had a time figuring out what they wanted him to do. I told him that he had to call this number and get someone assigned to the case. He said that he had done that; but, that was a month ago.
I asked him if there was someone like a social worker at the vets. He said yes and in fact she had changed his dad's 70% disability to 100%. I told him to call and schedule an appt with her and have her help him navigate through these 6 pages of instructions that he could barely read.
I'll bet there are hundreds if not thousands of vets who have run into the same roadblocks and are not supportive of trump.
Looking at this from the 20,000’ view, capitulation made things worse (or will) and accomplished of benefit to the people who trusted all Democrats and now have no reason to trust at least 8, including the Minority Leader:
In caving to 2 shutdowns, Dems proved to be spineless, confirming they can be out-waited and will surrender: D-ACO is far worse than TACO 47. Trump will be emboldened by this victory and will make further abuse of reaffirmed power to proceed with impunity. In any dispute, it always is best to get your opponents to fight with each other (or against themselves) since it takes no effort. Nothing was achieved. It would be as if 1 day short of 40 years Moses told the flock, "Oh Heck, I'm lost; let's go back." So close but never there. Dem leadership must go, but who is qualified and able to step up? Schumer and Jeffries are [fill in] but who wants the lights shining on them? The defectors: Source: Time https://tinyurl.com/5n87zm2b; other sites were consulted. Some is JMO but by an odd coincidence may be accurate:
• King (ME): clueless - “Does the shutdown further the goal of achieving some needed support for the extension of the tax credits?"
• Durbin (IL): ~81 and on his way out of the Senate who either lost whatever ability he had to be Dem. #2 or never really had that mojo.
• Shaheen (NH): "This was the only deal on the table.” If the GOP asks all Dem Sens to resign as their only offer, would that be okay?
• Kaine (VA): worried about how many VA Fed. worker constituents are hurt. Is VA blood the reddest? Is his base likely to return him to office if he runs again?
• Hassan (NH): a MAGA Congresswoman suited up as a US Senator.
• Fetterman (PA): while a broken two handed clock is correct twice a day, a broken one handed clock never displays the correct time.
• Cortez Masto: (NV): Poor people can't fly to LV to lose their money in casinos. Beyond the Mustang Ranch how will tax-free NV survive?

We can seize on the means to make Rs VOTE IN PUBLIC on the ACA now … We can seize on making them bring the country back from the brink. This vote is a tough one … but it can be made to benefit the Democrats and the Left if we STOP CHEWING OUR ENTRAILS and seize on the opportunities to make the Rs perform IN THE LIGHT OF DAY … Swear in Arizona’s Rep. Grijalva … MAKE THEM VOTE ON THE ACA IN THE LIGHT OF DAY, not the dark of night. Make them TALK to DEMS about the ACA, instead of freezing them out.
It’s a chance to take some different action … Stop bitching about it, and do what’s presented. THIS IS WHERE WE ARE. USE WHAT WE HAVE, not what we wish we had.
Dems need to stop the bitching and start acting with some savvy!!!!!!
There were 7 + King who caved in by choice or were "volunteers” sacrificed by Schumer primarily because none is up for re-election until 2028 or 2030, or will be retiring. I agree with you, but how do we find and then shine the light you suggest must be ambient?
"Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman." (Supreme Court Justice from 1916-1939) Louis D. Brandeis, writing in Harper's Weekly, December 20, 1913, page 10, the second sentence of the article. https://tinyurl.com/2nccu6dd
My point is … we need to use the tools we HAVE and stop turning the unschooled and unaligned population against THE LEFT, which they too often equate with the Democratic Party. Stop shooting ourselves in the foot, and stop chewing our entrails! OK, we got mad at EiGHT damned people! Now let’s look at our options …some of which are STRONG!…and be PROactive instead of stuck in gripe mode. Just STOP the griping gridlock and use whatever opportunities this presents…and it DOES present some … not the least, putting the Republicans on the spot to TALK ( or refuse to in the bright light of day, and try to defend that!)And then they have to vote on the ACA IN PUBLIC, with the whole country focused on them. For the luvva
Pete, that is powerful! How about we keep bitching about “caving” and throw away a chance to put the Republicans in the dock! So much more fun to be self-righteous and pissed than to take some savvy action with whstever we have to work with!? Gad! We have to MOVE on…hold onto the people who voted against the Trump agenda last week, OR turn them against us and shoot them over to some vague third option that will siphon our strength and deliver next year to the Rs again.
GAD, STOP DOING THE WRONG THING. Stop savaging, and start being savvy.
(Respectfully), you speak of "opportunities." Voting is a clear one, but others? Most of what you mention are actions by politicians. It is we the people who must act to change this as it is we the people who somehow created this.
Boycott Black Friday and Cyber Monday (and may before and after) and shop locally such as on Small Business Saturday? What is the Mag 7 without us?
Refusals to participate such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955-1956?
Marches often and with the determination of John Lewis in Selma in 1965?
The Woolworth ((assertion of rights) Sit-Ins in Feb. 1960 in Greensboro, NC?
The Freedom Rides to force integration in 1961? Freedom Summer in 1964?
The Memphis Sanitation Workers' strike in 1968 (at which MLK lost his life)?
What I hear you asking is beyond our control until we can vote. Correct me.
Right now, WE, and those on the Left, need to pound it into people’s consciousness about how Trump acted during the shutdown, how hes behaved in public at the UN and other official events, and how the Congress is treating the upcoming vote on the ACA. WE do have to do the kind of things you speak of, but we also need to stop our stupid inter-Left sniping and get the word out that the Rs are seriously destroying democracy AND sucking up all the air {and money} while they do it. People voted last week. We need to keep those thoughts going …
I was 30 years in the RCAF before resigning my Commission and taking a job with an airline. The job only lasted four years as the airline was brought out by a larger carrier and they fired all Senior Management. I would not have treated my military service for any other job. My time in the Air Force were the best years of my life. Call Rowan 30 years. I
and my family moved 20 times.
You can tell from that that my wife was a trooper!

After what Bush did to them, that is hard to believe. 😯

These statements undermined morale within the military’s leadership ranks and contributed to friction between the White House and the Department of Defense.

All of my family served; Grandfather George from Poland. He worked the PA coal mines at the age of 6 after his father died.
My Immigrant father Andrew from Romania. He arrived here at 17 fleeing fascism and worked in a hotel kitchen.
All my US born Uncles served. Lastly and most painful, my 17 year-old brother who volunteered for Vietnam before he could be drafted.
I am glad none of them are alive to see the subhuman monster whose name is won't speak. The best thing he can do for the country is die.

Fetterman was not the same after his stroke. He should have never come back in office. I will be voting against him on '28.
You are missing Jeanne Shaheen.
Reading the words of our anguished soldiers made me cry. They should not be put in this type of situation. I feel relieved for myself and my fellow citizens, though, to know that our armed forces still understand that their oath and loyalty is to our constitution, not to a felon.
I don't understand why veterans support him!
I guess I should have said why MANY veterans support him, or did support him. You are right - there are probably many who don't support him.
After what Bush did to them, It's hard to believe that they still support republicans. 😯
• Rosen (NV): Poor people can't fly to LV to lose their money in casinos.
