His comments are disgusting. He sounds guilty as fuck. Perfectly Moreno didn’t need to issue a statement. A lot of father’s statements would’ve been whupping Millers ass for putting hands on their daughter. Nobody should put their hands on a woman.

Adam's avatar

Moreno is scum. If he’s known for over 2yrs, why did he help miller get elected and/or not say anything sooner? Moreno was a used car salesman and it shows. Both are pieces of shit and need to be in jail.

Jerri Peake's avatar

Wasn't it also Moreno who used profanity in addressing Dr. Fauci? He's a real class act, too!

MM Harris's avatar

Yes. It was beyond disgusting, and spewed with such uncalled for anger. He ought to be apologizing for that as well. I won't hold my breath.........

Lauren's avatar

Yes. Moreno was totally disgusting to Dr. Fauci. Maybe he didnt come out sooner for his daughter and granddaughter is t h at he is just as bad. That is what his abusive behavior to Dr. Fauci shows.

Carole137's avatar

He's total garbage. Also has his own scandal to deal with.

The Progressive Movement Undone

From Encyclopedia Britannica

“The Progressive movement was a political and social-reform movement that brought major changes to the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, known as the Progressive Era, the movement’s goals involved strengthening the national government and addressing people’s economic, social, and political demands. Progressives saw elements of American society that they wished to reform, especially ending the extreme concentration of wealth among the elite and the enormous economic and political power of big business.”

From The Peaceful Solution:

The political right wing has been working to undo these reforms for over 100 years and now they’ve succeeded. It could take many years to restore our democracy, unless the citizens awaken quickly and take the peaceful actions of non cooperation, and economic disengagement.

How much do you want to stop His Royal Heinous and the fascist takeover of the country?

Enough that you’re willing to make a small sacrifice? Like altering your spending habits for a month or two or three? That could be all it would take to get the attention of the oligarchs (formerly known as The Robber Barons in the first Gilded Age, also The Fat Cats, The Greedy Bastards).

A brief demonstration of We, the People’s, power of the purse could persuade them to quit supporting HRH and the politicians who enable him.

We quit spending, except on essentials, businesses lose money, stock market goes down, Greedy Bastards pay attention to our demands.

Please: Resist. Stop cooperating. Stop spending. Stop the fascist takeover.

Thank you for restacking, and sharing, to help Spread the Word!

Worm Brain: " ... During covid we completely dismantled our rights."

So when Ebola comes to the US due to your drastic cuts and non-existing global strategy, *your* rights will be more important than arresting the rapid spread of this deadly disease into the general population? I hope you're the first to die. Humanity will be better off.

Julie's avatar

I will always be glad to (temporarily) give up my rights if there is a pandemic that requires it. And yes, they will be temporary because medical minds will figure out how to overcome the illness. This scenario has been played out a number of times throughout history.

Worm brain IS NOT one of those medical minds i would listen to. He is a quack and moron.

Kristopher Giesing's avatar

Framing the COVID response in terms of abridging individual rights has always felt to me like a category error.

Do we consider speed limits on interstates to be an abridgment of individual rights? Or the requirement to pass a driver's test before getting behind the wheel? Or, for that matter, the manufacture and sale of addictive drugs?

steve a's avatar

There is a difference between the law and a mandate which they wanted to convince people a mandate to ware a mask or to take the death jab was law. A mandate is not a law but a request that people would assume it's a law. This is how the government trick the US citizens.

Oaktown's avatar

Death jab? I've had 6 or 7 of those "death jabs" and I'm still alive and well because of them. I also know several young people who are still suffering from debilitating long Covid because they contracted the disease before vaccines were available, and I read recently that there are still *today* more Covid deaths than from breast and prostate cancers *combined*. When a deadly pandemic hits our country, overwhelming our hospitals and medical personnel as Covid did in 2020, the government has a *duty* to protect the vast majority of its citizens, and Covid vaccines did just that. And that mandate provided for exceptions in the case of the few people who had legitimate medical reasons not to get the vaccine.

Richard Bonds's avatar

I don't understand a word you're saying.

SusanB's avatar

some do consider those limitations to be abridgments of their individual rights.

no “we” in their thought process i guess

Teresa G's avatar

He is also not a shred of medical

steve a's avatar

I refuse to buy into the system of control. Never wore a mask and never will. Never got the death jab and never will. A lot of people were tricked into this by thinking a mandate was law in fact a mandate is only a request and can't be forced on anyone but people don't know that. It's important to know your legal rights.

Oaktown's avatar

So let's let murderers, thieves and rapists roam the street without accountability since you can't buy into any "system of control."

Apparently this is the first time "everyone" in the Grifters On Parade party has realized what they have unleashed upon our country and the world. I hope the Dems remind them of that every hour of every day by plastering that quote on everything, everywhere, and all at once.

It's not that I'm wishing death and horror upon anyone at all, but damn, am I waiting for the next pandemic.. because it ain't gonna be as wussy as covid.

For those who want to come at me for calling covid wussy, that's the point. It wasn't.

ramonaj's avatar

Just the opposite. PROF. Sipwell. IMO The North East US was the first to experience full on disaster covid. No one knew what to do. Trump wouldnt help NY. He also dumped all the responsibility for supplies on the governors. KUSHNER said it was only effecting blue states so who cares. We saw the body count go up. The graves being dug. The situationa at ALL HOSPITALS.

They want us to forget.

So NO. I agree . The next one will be worse. Because they aren't learning from covid. It is just a game .

Bernie Moreno had 2 years to call out Max Miller and he decided to do so today? He only did so after the huge backlash. He didn't do it for his daughter and granddaughter, he did it for his political career. Let's hope this ends his career and Max Miller's as well. Disgusting and vile pieces of shit they are.

ramonaj's avatar

I really wanna know what the hell drives these disgusting men to be this way. It is money of course. But there is more to it. Mentally disturbed by something or someone.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Well, he's a MAGAt, his ex-wife is a MAGAt and her daddy Bernie Moreno is a MAGAt as well. They got married at Trump's golf course in Bedminster for fuck sake. That should tell you something of their mindset.

ramonaj's avatar

That is all very obvious. I mean they must be deranged even if the never entered politics. A mental disorder that everyday men act out in the worst ways. Just sick.

Dee Cee's avatar

When Moreno was running against incumbent Sherrod Brown, I remember reading that he was a used car salesman with no experience in politics (or much else). Just a trump crony.

Once he was elected, mainstream media started referring to him as being from the automotive industry, as if he was the next Lee Iacocca or something.

So even in very subtle ways, mainstream media is distorting and revising the facts to align with trump's agenda.

Disgusting.

Moreno and Miller families -- they are all disgusting. I feel sorry for that 2 year old girl that was born into the family from hell.

They're all fucking nuts. Watching these puffed up asses talk shit about Iran like some adolescent on steroids is going to come back and bite them. Iran isn't scared. They're not backing down. They remind me of North Vietnam during the Vietnam war. Every day politicians were talking body bags and bombing successes. But North Vietnam knew all they had to do was outlast the US. Every Republican should be dropped in the middle of Iran. Beyond that watching these low life bastards attack Dr. Fauci outraged me. Then today worm brain Kennedy looked like he was going to stroke out at Dana Bash. The sooner the whole thing collapses the better. Like Elvis, Trump can drop dead on the toilet.

Yeah, but Bash made worm brain look like the lying idiot he is.

RFK Jr’s physical intimidation towards Dana Bash seems similarly abusive to Max Miller’s cited abusive behavior. And just serves to remind us that RFK’s dear wife died by suicide after years of his abusive behavior. He isn’t even fit to clean up roadkill. He is roadkill. A vile and angry man.

ramonaj's avatar

Yes Leah. Physical intimidation. Another common thread that drives these abusive people to be the scum they are.

Carol Stayton's avatar

The story of Mary R. - his first wife is absolutely the saddest family tragedy I have ever heard. R F K drove her crazy and turned her kids against her. Search the web of the history of her suicide.

Rita Parker's avatar

Moreno only made a statement supporting his daughter and granddaughter after Miller released a sleazy denial. Every female of every age recognized an abuser's claims of innocence. Moreno was only afraid Miller was going to politically hurt him. To hell with both Miller and Moreno.

“… A senior GOP congressional staffer: “Everyone knows what the problem is: The organizations that bring young staffers to DC have spent the last decade prioritizing blind ideological loyalty instead of competence or intelligence. We have a generation of rabid, incompetent idiots.”

Well, nice to see someone in the cult recognizes the truth, but I don’t think this will have any more effect on change than Bobby Jindahl’s declaration years ago that the GOP was “the party of stupid.” Stupid then, even more stupid now. And their tinpot god is the very definition of stupid.

DeBurgh's avatar

Today the battle is not Left vs Right. It's about money. The Trump Family is stealing from us. Either you are on their side (like the 272 GOP members of Congress) or you are against them. The Trump Family doesn't care about Project 2025 or Federalism or Conservatism. All they care about is using the Office of President to take money for themselves. Obvious. (Someone please tell the DNC.)

joni's avatar

Of course the trmp crime family doesn't care about "Federalism" or "Conservatism"...or any "ism", only so far as it benefits them in their relentless greed. Gaza ? Albania ? WTF??? They are insatiable and need to be thoroughly investigated because despite his name, Kushner is not Kosher!

Oaktown's avatar

Huh? Tell the DNC? Start with the RNC.

DeBurgh's avatar

Recent beg from the DNC. Have you seen any mention by the Democratic Party about the Trump Family stealing from Americans in their pitches? "Corruption" is as close at they get. Weak sauce. At least they could tell the obvious truth and try to attract Independent voters. Instead they are marching around in circles.

Forgive us for being so direct, but to be completely transparent, this isn’t the time for subtlety.

We’re officially in the homestretch of the midterm elections and every single day is mission-critical if we want to take back Congress and put Democrats back into the majority.

Steven, the DNC is the organization best positioned to move make-or-break resources to the places they’re needed most. We’re building the largest midterm election operation in Democratic Party history, and we need your help to cross the finish line.

It’s time to put an end to Republican corruption and chaos. So, if you were waiting for the right time to step up and help defend our democracy, this is it. Please chip in $7, or whatever is meaningful to you, to help us elect Democrats up and down the ballot and build the future America deserves:

Oaktown's avatar

I haven't given a dime to the DNC for several years and removed my name from their mailing list. I agree their "messaging" is abysmal, not to mention their "strategy." However ineffective they are at focusing on the important issues, though, the true enemies of the people, democracy, the economy, and our national security are the RNC and their entire party.

“If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office …”. Hasn’t this been answered in 2016 … then again in 2024, Senator Moreno? Let alone yesterday?

Carol in Maine's avatar

I live in Maine so it is nice to see you enjoying it. The wild blueberries are definitely the best!

Oaktown's avatar

Do you know if there are any frozen wild ME blueberry brands available on the west coast? I tried some that claimed they were "wild," but they were small, dry, and worse flavor than Earthbound Farms organic blueberries.

Carol in Maine's avatar

If you can get Wymans, they are very good and grown in Maine.

Oaktown's avatar

Thanks for the tip. I wondered if they were really wild, or it was just a marketing ploy to sell wild berries sprayed with pesticides because they don't say "organic" on the package.

Carol in Maine's avatar

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that the wild ones don’t use the pesticides like the high bush berries. I live on a road when there is an apple orchard with peaches, plums and raspberries on one end and about a mile and a half away there is a high bush blueberry farm with raspberries as well. I think the wild ones taste better.

Oaktown's avatar

I still don't get why the package wouldn't say they were organic too.

Michele R's avatar

Well that is just unfair having to look at this sweet dessert. I will now crave this forever
