Kilmeade and Fox is part of the problem. We need compassion and understanding all the time, but particularly now. He didn’t immediately apologize, he was forced to by his bosses. He should also have been fired but you know that would never happen. The people who say things that demonize people less fortunate than them are much worse than the people they demonize. And the President is leading the charge demonizing people. That’s not leadership

Brian Kilmeade was only giving voice to what trump has advocated for all along - killing off the unwanted. All of trumps policies funnel down to one thing, killing off all the people he finds "undesirable". Through lack of health care, lack of housing, lack of medicines, lack of food - that's where we're heading.

… CBS: “The Trump admin is sending a $58 million request to Congress to increase security for the executive and judicial branches in the wake of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. A WH official confirmed the extra funds would be directed to the US Marshals Service and would also include enhanced protection for Supreme Court justices.”

What about the Circuit and Appeals Court judges? Better keep an eye on the most prominent perpetrator of doxxing, persecuting, and threatening judges with weaponized lawsuits: Donald J. Trump.

Gee, he ignored the recent murders and attempted murders of the democratic legislators and their spouses.

He is normalising that aggression towards Republicans is illegal and to be widely and publicly decried, but aggressions towards Democrats is acceptable.

He is also normalising using companies to crack down on people who are not following the "mourn hard and deeply, NOW" command.

And the same on social media. Free speech is under attack.

While noone should be committing murder, Kirk was a hateful, bigoted man who widely spewed his hatred and fomented violence.

Using companies to punish free speech is the new secret police.

Utah governor now saying the shooter was "radicalized" by "leftist ideology". "There clearly was a leftist ideology with this — with this assassin,” he said, citing the suspect’s family and romantic partner as sources of that information." Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/us/kirk-shooting-suspect-ideology-partner.html I guess that Trump phone call to the Governor, right after the Gov tried to calm things down with a statement, did what DJT wanted it to do. Now the kid is a "leftist" and is supposedly in a relationship with a transgender person, according to the Governor.

I’m a little surprised that you didn’t point out that Bill Pulte’s play for Lisa Cook’s job actually rebounded on his parents, who had multiple “primary “ residences, both with homestead exemptions. One of the taxing counties pulled out the exemption and charged them with back taxes. GOOD.

Yup. According to Heather Cox Richardson's 9/13 post: "In contrast, Reuters reported last week that unlike Cook, Pulte’s own father and stepmother claimed primary residence tax exemptions for two homes in different states. The shooter's supposed motive was that his victim wasn't right-wing enough! Therefore the Dems must be blamed because facing the grim reality would force the right-wing cult to admit they are the extremists! Food for thought.

Love this person:

… A viral video on social media shows an activist in DC annoying National Guard troops by following them around as they walked the streets while blasting John Williams’ Imperial March, which was used in Star Wars whenever Stormtroopers appeared on screen. A Sgt finally turned around and said: “I can contact Metro PD to come get you if that’s what you want to do? Is that what you want?”

… The activist said yes, and the troops turned around and continued walking while the activist continuing following with the music.

That's the ticket: small, courageous acts of non-violent, mocking resistance.

I try not to pile on the NG troops. They do not have many good choices: go and patrol as they are told or refuse to go and be kicked out of the Guard and lose their benefits, including things like college tuition. They are in a tough spot.

Bad Bunny's avatar

Yeah, they're not following disturbingly illegal orders and they've generally been pretty chill. I talk with them when I encounter them unless the ranking member of the group seems hostile.

They basically don't have a mission and the way they're being used (picking trash, spreading mulch) is disrespectful to them and the Guard as a whole. The DC guard members are mostly not too upset because it's their town. The red staters would rather be home.

Well, all they have to do is get their leadership to file a lawsuit against them being used this way, and to demand that all NG troops have the right, with zero negatives repercussions, to refuse to be used politically against the people of the US.

Yeah I know that's harder than I make it sound, but they are being used to quell the freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution, to which they swore an oath.

The President swore an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.

He is breaking that oath every single day.

He is forcing others to break their oaths.

A tyranny is growing.
