I was having this discussion with my husband yesterday about the rights' constant attack on "underbabied" women and men. We have five children. I was a stay at home mom, which was MY choice, my husband worked enough for both of us, but I did run a doll making business from home for many years to bring in some extra money. I was very fortunate to earn money doing something I loved.
But to these clueless, arrogant a-holes here's my proposal- the fathers also work full time but tend to ALL child rearing, getting up several times a night to feed the baby, then getting up at six in the morning to make the mom's and children's breakfast and lunch then getting the older ones dressed and ready for the school bus and the younger ones ready for daycare. Dragging your tired ass to work. When the school age children return helping with homework while trying to make supper in between putting laundry away.
Tending to all the "husbandly" duties, cooking, cleaning, caring for the young ones, shopping while trying to stretch that diminishing dollar, paying the juggled bills. Tending to this either nightly or over the weekend. No softball, no golf league, no bowling league, no night out with the boys. No playing video games until bedtime. Getting up again four or five times a night to tend to the baby while the mom sleeps peacefully beside you. And doing all this while WORKING full time like so many mothers do! Rinse and repeat for however many times the right wing crazies want to promote this madness. Ten, twelve... It’s a shame that the customer service appears to be non existent which results in less subscriber sales.
I had the same problem, but figured out that even if I signed in to Substack, then read the bulletin by clicking on it in my email account, it required me to log in AGAIN before I could see the whole bulletin. If you decide to try subscribing again, always check the upper right of your Substack window to see if it's asking you to sign in. If so, you can also click the "sign in" button, and it will automatically complete your original sign-in for that particular Substack account—and even then, I'm sometimes required to enter a six-digit code that they send to email in order to comment.
I hate that bothersome six-digit code thing too, Oaktown, trying to understand why maybe it's a security protocol to protect from bots or whatever, but the process is a real pain in the ass.

I shared these with Brett who deals with Substack. It really is an issue with Substack and not us. We will raise the issues with them about this being too much of a problem. This is the first time I have seen this complaint. Maybe it was made previously and I didn't see it - I obviously spend a ton of time as an employee of the company researching and writing and am not the customer service rep for the substack site, but I passed the info on.

You should contact your credit card company to dispute the charge. Your bank will credit you because when they try to contact Meidas or Substack, they won’t respond to your bank so your credit will remain and become permanent.
