The spectacle at the military graduation merely demonstrated Donald’s lack of respect for his audience, the institution, and American values. Speaking about trophy wives, Al Capone and his electoral victories do not constitute a meaningful speech to our best and brightest. It’s time to put a 72 hour hold on this guy for a mental competency exam.

Mainstream Press is sane washing Trump. They are not reporting on what he actually said, they are summarizing, editing out all the craziness and writing their version of what they think he meant, not what he actually said. I hope we get the foreign press to get more visibility over here stateside. They seem to to a better job of reporting when it comes to Trump.

For the truth? Check the Guardian. They didn't mince any words about what that demented soul was doing on that stage. Have lost respect for West Point and the support of the maga party. Always looked at West Point as one of the best facilities for grooming women and men for leadership roles in America better than most. Mr. trump has certainly added a stain on West Point - like on all trump touches.

It is NOT a private university, it is a government base that happens to be a univeristy training future officers and others to have leading positions in running this country. Don't blame West Point. They didn't on their own remove books and ask him to speak, or babble. They were and are told what to do. They do not have a choice. You want to blame someone? May I suggest you channel your anger to the wet-brained alcoholic? Hegseth is the one calling the shots. Nothing like a two-bit actor destroying our armed forces.

47 has gutted US defenses and intelligence. Hegseth, Patel, Gabbard? Just waiting for act of terrorism or conflagration - 47 and Christian Nationalists will harden their power and play out their agenda / fantasies. Unclear how this plays out? Clearly, Trump supporters, South African oligarchs like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel continue to parasitize the US Government via corporate shelter, tax breaks + contracts. Brilliant billionaire business minds who gamed US elections and Republicsn party in a broken dysfunctional system. Add an impotent Supreme court and very weak democratic leadership = disaster on all levels.

I wouldn't say they are trying to gut the country. The jury isn't in yet. I was responding to the West Point question. It will be interesting to see how many choose to NOT attend West Point or the other academies after the games that are being played. The incoming classes may be smaller.

As for the comment about "weak democratic leadership." It's pretty damn hard to exercise any kind of "leadership" when one is in the minority in Congress. But you know what? They are rallying - to name a few of those who are keeping the spotlight on the cosplay cabinet, Cory Booker, Chris Murphy, Jasmine Crockett, Jim McGovern, AOC, Bernie Sanders, Liz Warren, would you like me to go on? They are carrying the torch. There are lots of others who are using their time in committee meetings to make sure that this faux administration is on the record for being less than capable of running the country.

The three you mentioned? One is an alcoholic and the other two are running to the title of village idiots. Of those two? One is bankrupting her agency and the other is a chronic no show. The spotlight needs to be kept on them and their antics. The engagement has just begun. Don't throw in the towel, that is their plan. One Neville Chamberlain in history is enough.

A Call from One American Grandma to Another: Stand Up for Our Families

My fellow Americans,

Especially my beloved grandmothers—

We’ve seen hard times before, and we’ve held our families together through them. We’ve rolled up our sleeves, dried tears, baked bread from scratch, and made every dollar stretch. But now, we’re facing a new kind of hardship—one quietly disguised as policy: devastating tariffs that will cause prices to skyrocket and shelves to empty. And who will feel it most? Our children and their children.

These new tariffs aren’t just numbers on a trade spreadsheet. They are a direct hit to the kitchen tables of young families already struggling to make ends meet.

A bag of diapers could cost more—while wages stay the same.

A can of baby formula or a pack of wipes might become harder to find—because components are stuck in a tariff trap.

Everyday basics like pasta, beans, or a box of cereal will creep up in cost—while young parents are told to “tighten their belts.”

This is not just policy. This is pain at the register.

And while millionaires and billionaires won’t flinch, the single mom pushing a cart with a toddler and a newborn will.

I’m asking us—the grandmothers, the wise ones, the anchors of our families—to raise our voices peacefully but powerfully. We know what sacrifice looks like. We know how to stand up when something isn’t right.

Let’s write.

Let’s call.

Let’s march.

Let’s post.

Let’s share the truth that’s being swept under the rug.

Because these tariffs aren’t about strength—they’re about control.

They’re not making us safer—they’re making our groceries more expensive and our future more uncertain.

We must remind this country what democracy really looks like.

It looks like grandmothers speaking up.

It looks like families standing together.

It looks like peaceful resistance for the sake of those yet to grow strong enough to fight for themselves.

We are the memory keepers and the truth tellers. Let’s be the protectors now.

With fierce love and unwavering hope,

Clarissa Bartolini Toro—an American Grandma

United by faith, family, and freedom.

and others, all I can is repeat what I already said - tRumputin is tasked by terrorist putin of russia and his generally antiAmerican, antiModernWest, anti-human satellites to make a largest extermination camp in humankind's history of USA where especially mass rapes will have been perpetrated before sadistic murders!! that might sound unthinkable but it's not at all - if you allow that bestial, unspeakable, monstrously perverse evil of tRumputin-his entire cabal of terrorists to go on any longer!! All the NONtRumputinist and ANTItRumputinist Americans, you simply must rise up and topple the murderously quisling terrorist tRumputin&his entire reign of terrorists, before it gets too late!!

Let me say again - tRumputin is a 34 counts convicted criminal, felon, rapist and close to 60 additional counts more indicted criminal of even worse crimes against USA and the world who, unprecedented in the entire history of USA and the world, ran the scam of second “presidency” through the "elections" of 2024 which he stole, only to avoid the prison that was awaiting him!! We have to keep these ugly facts about the criminal tRumputin in mind whenever referring to him!! Therefore, he must be always morally and psychologically delegitimized, disempowered from any other title than - the chief-criminal-felon-and-quisling - and never ever to be called “president”!! We must break him and make his every moment of existence the nightmare for him&his cult of death until we also formally oust him and punish him!! Also, good NONtRumputinist and better yet ANTItRumputinist Americans, know that the tRump's-eVIlonmusk's-jdvance's-mikejohnson's-petehegseth's-stephenmiller's-pambondi's-russvought's-tulsigabbard's-kashpatel's-oz's... entire reign of terror is/are terrorists' putin's-mbs's-taliban's-netanyahu's-kahanist-ramzankadyrov's agents who are explicitly tasked by these terrorists to, literally, destroy USA! USA is like the American airplanes of 9.11.2001 hijacked by alqaida terrorists i.e. tRumputin reign of terror. This is the sense of urgency all, I repeat, all NONtRumputinist and better yet ANTItRumputinist Americans must have, so, act accordingly, I repeat, act accordingly!

Like I've said already - the quisling pos tRumputin is NOT a normal American president (I mean - he's unthinkable of a concept to be even called potus, his terrorist-serving mush of the brain is even crazier!!) and he must NOT be normalized in any way!! his only ID photo is the prison mugshot of him taken at Fulton County Jail, GA and his only number is the prison inmate code-number issued to him at Fulton County Jail, GA!! Therefore, good NONtRumputinist and better yet ANTItRumputinist Americans, act accordingly!!

d.j. trump is already diagnosed by the World Mental Health Organization experts as extremely UNFIT for office, extremely malignant narcissist, extremely sociopathic. he is the most dangerous yet the most senselessly over-empowered individual in the world!! OUST him&his entire reign of terror from power NOW!! And, INVESTIGATE AND AUDIT the nov. 2024 "elections" because that 2024 "election" was the real steal!!

the neo-nazi-fascist-stalinist so-called "russian traditionalist world" of aleksandr dugin-stalin-putin-their western quisling satellites of death cult called "rapture" combined with jihadists and kahanists-netanyahu, again, combined with the crazy big tech broligarchs is - the only single thing that tRumputin&his cult like, love and care about!! it is the deadliest ever cult in the history of the world - a coalition of end-of-the world apocalyptic suicide and homicide religious terrorists WITH the nihilist kakistocratic big tech crazy quasi-"entrepreneur" maniacs such as eVIlon-thiel-yarvin etc... who think they can conquer the Milky Way galaxy!! Folks, you must nip that totalitarian-religious-nihilistic evil in the bud!! Folks, you must disempower with all and by all means that monstrously evil autocratic terroristic quasi-religious and quasi-technocratic alliance of the end-of-the-world apocalyptic maniacs!!

Why aren't any of the new weaponized protections of the President, available to Joe Biden. Since they cant just leave him the hell alone ,maybe he should sue someone.

When Jim Henson was eighteen, he constructed Kermit from a spring-green wool jacket of his mother’s. As a one-time poor kid who’d sewed from remnants, I recall that Jim created this beloved classic from a castoff garment. Riley Gaines never made an individual podium finish for Kentucky. In her famous swim against Lia Thomas, they initially tied for fourth.

Maybe Riley Gaines’ British husband really isn’t all that into her (“Bye, luv!”). She tried to squeeze pathos out of the fact that his green card was delayed by his refusal to get a Covid vaxx.

It is all so depressing and since I live in Delaware, I can't begin to imagine what it is like for decent people living under red oppression. And that is exactly what it is Putin style oppression.

I'm a former Delawarean...well I'll always be a Delawarean who now lives in the politically godforsaken state of Missouri. I grew up near Claymont (had friends who went to Archmere just as Biden was graduating. When I got out of graduate school I moved to PA just over the state line and I used to drive by the intersection where his wife and daughter were killed on my way to work for the Great State of Delaware). I grew up loving horses, and land was cheap in Missouri so I moved. But I am homesick most of the time, even though Delaware today is not much like the Delaware I left 45 years ago. I will tell you how it is to live under red oppression....I am in a 99% maga county where folks consider violence a fine reaction to a situation they do not like. I cannot express my discontent with trump for fear of retaliation. I now have a horse sanctuary and have to rely on the local vet and if I were to "come out" as a Democrat he would suddenly be too busy to see my horses and there are no other vets within 50-80 miles and I don't know if any of them would see me and for sure they would not make farm calls. I have overheard conversations about burning down the barn of a Biden/Harris supporter and/or shooting their livestock. My grandchildren have heard classmates threaten to beat up anyone who supported Biden. Fortunately I'm a bit of an introvert and am sort of ok with having no friends. But part of my being ok is because of Meidas Touch and being in touch even just through the computer with like minded persons. I cannot afford to move anywhere else (as I said, land is cheap here). Weirdly when I moved here this was a democratic area. As jobs became scarer for educated persons I think they moved out and the uneducated evangelical christians moved in. I made a promise to my horses that I would always keep them safe and even though many would say they are "just" horses, to me a promise is a promise, so here I stay.

What you describe has happened before. Timothy Egan wrote a book about it: Fever In the Heartland," as did David Zuchinno (Wilmington's Lie: The Murderous Coup of 1898 and the Rise of White Supremacy).

Very, very scary times. Your horses are more worthy and decent than so many human beings.

Just knowing you elected Sarah McBride makes me very very proud! I get very homesick when I check out her posts on facebook even though Delaware is nothing like it was when I left (or at least Wilmington) and I know I am mostly "homesick" for my past and the wonderful life I had till age 29 when I moved here. For me a really weird thing is that I've been gone longer than about half the folks in Delaware have been alive (and likewise I've been here in MO longer than the majority of folks in the county where I live).
