Whatever the case, it is disturbing to hear that there were no secure checkpoints set up at some distance from the event. Ohio has the most corrupt statehouse in the country, and the takeover has been going on for many years. They just passed a bill requiring a 24 hour waiting period for abortions, doing all they can to weaken the constitutional protections the voters passed.
You’re correct. Ohio Democratic leadership hasn’t come up with effective tactics in countering the Republicans’ moves. I say this even though I am a registered Democratic voter.
Not likely to happen in CA; Dems have a supermajority in both state house and senate legislatures and are killing us with Prop 13 efforts to snuff out property owners' protections against raising property taxes: mine is over $6 grand a year now, up from $2500 in 2000. When I croak, my kid will inherit it and its value will jack up the rate to well over $10k.
