Thank you for providing an early portrait of these two murderers, and history will not be kind. These were experienced agents, I imagine those with minimal training might think this is a good idea. ProPublica does it again.

Jerri Peake's avatar

I hope the two of them never have a moment of peace for the rest of their pathetic lives.

SFGal's avatar

Yes, Mike, I am proud to also support ProPublica with what contributions I am able.

Still wondering why only 2 icemen have been named for the Pretti murder. All those other masked, badgeless thugs in the videos - holding him down, beating him, allegedly finding a gun on him and removing it- get off scot-free? And all 10 shots only came from 2 guns? And - both of the 2 have Latino names? Something is rotten and the stench is getting worse.

But at least it keeps us somewhat distracted from the Epstein files, I guess.

Might it be possible their demographics are representative of "club" membership? I have to wonder if anyone would take the fall (or be designated as one who should). Sure, pardons are possible for federal charges but people die or forget or think it might be "beautiful" to say no, not for you (for the reason stated in your post). Others who come after may dispense pardons more judiciously. Oh, and pesky state charges.

Take a look at Rubio to understand why there are so many hard right Hispanics. The term Hispanic is used to describe an enormous range of countries of origin, cultural backgrounds and temporal realities. Having a Latino name is no predictor of political or other beliefs.

What’s actually relevant is that CBP is notoriously violent and has been allowed to indulge the most horrible fantasies against human beings whose bodies won’t be recovered from the desert. I’m not saying they’re all bloodthirsty psychopaths. I am saying they provide an accepting environment for bloodthirsty psychopaths.

This information has been free in the world for decades but most Americans will say they never heard of such a thing, and a whole lot of those will say it can’t be true.

Facing historical truth needs to be a key part of education, starting as soon as kids meet publicly funded child care or education.

Amen Kirsten!

Fair point all. My reading of history (correct or not) is that despite the Great Depression, FDR did not want to push the U.S. into another save Europe from itself war just 20 years after The Great War ended. He intended for a long time to get the US into the war, but on his terms. He had to get Americans mad enough to be willing to send their sons to war. How? By using second-strike tactics. Lend-Lease kept the Brits going and a greater USN presence in the Atlantic reduced merchant ship sinkings. Cutting off Japan’s ability to obtain oil, rubber and other essential resources from Indonesia and nearby deprived Japan of necessary war-making materiel. Why send 8 battleships far from the West Coast with minimal air cover when the Japanese were saber-rattling? Why ignore warning messages from the Japanese Ambassador? Why ignore the mini-sub sunk close to Hawaii? Why suppress the related communications? Why? Because FDR wanted a devastating attack to get the US public mad enough (which it certainly became) to sign up and join in, by their choice, not by his dictate. It was not to benefit Europe, but to gain resources and establish the US as a first order of magnitude world power, all while creating the employment at home necessary to end the Depression. FDR was every bit the dictator this wannabe strongman is – but FDR was effective.

Camille, I see my “might it be possible” questions once again have placed me at sixes and sevens. They seem innocent enough (they are! they are!); yet here we are. I was thinking about hiring qualifications (Q: “Do you have a pulse?” A: “No, I’ don’t even have a traffic ticket.” Q: “Ok, sign here. Pick up your Cava bag with $50K on your way out.”) It occurred to me BLS data (Dec. 2024: https://tinyurl.com/mwysafd4) would confirm, as it did, that Latino and Black men are overrepresented in the ranks of the unemployed. From that, my club demographics question emerged, but solely as a counterpoint query.

Using undisclosed sources and methods, ProPublica apparently was able to identify and releases the shooters names today, 1-Feb-26. (https://tinyurl.com/4e5bvps2). If it is any consultation (I know in my heart is it not), I had to dig deeply for these data, as well. It seems both are CBP. ProPublica says in the article CBP was uncooperative. Imagine!

I agree with you about the interracial sellout and it brings to mind Jewish (traitor) Capos in the lagers (camps), often greater abusers than the Germans. My thought is that sign-up decisions mostly were based on which way they wanted to see the gun barrels point.

I think the Hennepin County DA’s office will keep this open until indictments are issued.

I was trying to be humorous with the first 2 sentences, and am sorry it did not come across that way. I thought you would recognize that from past conversations. I'll stick to my day job. I did not know how the information was initially obtained and I now know. Thanks.

This Texas special election is so exciting. I’m a SD-9 resident and voted early for Rehmet. The maga candidate who lost is extreme, she spent $2.4 million to Rehmet’s $200,000. Not sure what she spent all that money on, but she still lost by 14 points.

Thank you for highlighting this race, Ron!! And thank you for all you do, from a Daily Bulletin reader 😎

They are still out there, KNOWING they could do this again and again and again if they so desire, and get labeled as 'heros' by their own government. And they get mad when sane ppl refer to them as Gestapo, SS, Nazi's. 😤

Humorous headline from the NY Times: "Kennedy Center to Close for 2-Year Construction Project, President Says". DJT never admits defeat, does he? He sure was a loser with that plan to take over the Kennedy Center, which suddenly "needs" to shut down for 2 years. (So he can remake it in tacky gold, I suspect.) He would never admit that major artists were telling him to GFY and cancelling appearances. The audiences were getting smaller and smaller.

How to Save a Democracy

By Laura Gamboa, Assistant Professor at Norte Dame University

Published in Foreign Affairs

The following is an excerpt.

“For democracy to survive, it must be protected. In the past few decades, in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Poland, opposition groups pushed back successfully against leaders with authoritarian tendencies early in the process of democratic backsliding, when they still had institutional levers to pull. But in other cases, such as Bolivia, El Salvador, Turkey, and Venezuela, oppositions either failed to act with sufficient urgency or used tactics that lost them their institutional levers, gradually hindering their ability to resist.

In the United States, the opposition’s response to the threat so far has been underwhelming. Reeling from electoral defeat and shocked by the blitz of the Trump administration’s power grabs, politicians and civil society groups are uncertain about the path forward and hesitant to take bold steps.

This delay is costly. If American democracy is to prevail, pro-democracy forces must follow the handbook that has enabled oppositions to stop would-be autocrats in other countries. They should coordinate to defend and expand their institutional powers while they have them, wield them to obstruct Trump’s authoritarian agenda, strengthen grassroots resistance efforts, and protect the activists, officeholders, and other individuals exposed to retribution from the administration. The alternative may be that democracy slips away while they wait.”

From The Peaceful Solution:

A Bold Step

We, the people, still have the power of the purse. No one can control our spending, or lack of spending. The other peaceful options are failing. Time is of the essence. We must go on a spending strike until the business community stops supporting His Royal Heinous and the politicians who enable him.

Stop participating. Nearly 70% of the U.S. economy is driven by consumer spending. You and me. Hobble the economy and the stock market.

Economic warfare is the only thing the oligarchs, the business community will understand and act on. Call it a Surreptitious General Strike (Quiet Quitting). Go to work, do as little as possible. Stop spending money except on essentials. Quit feeding the corporate beast that supports HRH.

This is how we can stop the fascist takeover.

Untrump's avatar

Yes! It will take personal sacrifice. Are your families, your kids worth it? I hope so!

The Peaceful Solution-Plan B's avatar

Sacrifice is Necessary

Defeating the fascists in WWII did not happen without sacrifice from the citizens of the Allied countries. We will have to sacrifice to stop and reverse the fascist takeover of our country. We can sacrifice a little now or a much greater amount later. What kind of world will our children and grandchildren live in if we allow this to continue?

How much do you want to stop His Royal Heinous and the fascist takeover of the country?

Enough that you’re willing to make a small sacrifice? Like altering your spending habits for a month or two or three? That could be all it would take to get the attention of the oligarchs (formerly known as The Robber Barons in the first Gilded Age, also The Fat Cats, The Greedy Bastards).

A brief demonstration of We, the People’s, power of the purse could persuade them to quit supporting HRH and the politicians who enable him.

We quit spending, except on essentials, businesses lose money, stock market goes down, Greedy Bastards pay attention to our demands.

Greedy Bastards own most of the politicians of both major parties. GBs start losing money, then they tell the politicians to change course and do what We, the People want.

Spending Strike, Spending Freeze, Spending Suspension, Spending Pause, Economic Disengagement, Economic Warfare, Stop Spending!, even Boycott. Choose your favorite but Do It, and Spread the Word!

If a single dollar doubles every day for 30 days, it reaches a total of over $536 million ($536,870,912) at the end of the 30th day.

So, would it follow, that a single voice that doubled everyday would become 536 million voices after 30 days? That seems doable.

From Mark Mansour:

Sacrifice has always been the price of renewal. Democracy, if it is to survive, cannot be the cheap luxury item of a populace too comfortable to fight for it. The Trump regime can be resisted through civic courage, legal challenge, and organization. But it can also be starved—one deliberate, withheld dollar at a time.

Well the two Texas wins are an indicator that even Texans are fed up with whatever this regimes goal really is, but again I think it's all a moot point because they're going to rig cheat and completely destroy the 26 midterms and the 28 election. I know it's a negative view but I'm looking at it as a realists view these people cannot be trusted as far as you can spit on them... my 2 penneys

Oaktown's avatar

Here's how you might prevent what these crooks are up to: get out the vote, and focus on those who turned 18 since 2024 and the millions of poor who never vote because no candidate bothers to talk with them or campaign in their neighborhoods. That will add a lot of new formerly non-voters, who will not have their voting records available to Musk, Donnie Diaper, Peter Thiel, and Shady Vance to target them or sabotage their ballots.

Plus, lawyers must do something useful and volunteer to work against the unlawful tactics of these cheating MAGGOTS.

SFGal's avatar

And put full support behind Marc Elias and Democracy Docket along with Skye Perryman and Democracy Forward, Oak.

RobWhitH's avatar

They undoubtedly will try; heck, they are doing it already. Mid-decade gerrymandering is a first; get the voter rolls; allege fraud everywhere. The Democrats have to be in the counties educating the people that run the elections in each one to know the law, protect their computers from Musk et al from the count to the transmission to the recordation at the state, be ready for the shitstorm that is coming. The days of retired people running these elections as their civic duty is over. The count is the battleground now. I can't get out of my mind how easy it was for Musk's DOGE people to set up servers in their offices and takeover the official servers. People didn't know at first. If it is that easy, how many county election office servers were spoofed back in November 2024 so the tabulation was changed? Who would know except those who would never talk? Trump got all 7 swing states. What were the odds? Trump talked about how Elon did his computer magic in PA. What did he mean? The media never got an answer.

What the actual f—-! He is truly demented if anyone believes it absolves him! Not only are there sworn affidavits as to him being a pedophile but now we find out that he’s also helped to cover up murders of children! Could’ve even participated in that! Who knows but I sincerely hope these statements get corroborated and every single person involved gets brought to justice!!! Ideas for your next protest sign:

"Trump made 3- 4 billion in the last year off of his presidency. How are your finances doing?"

Democrats need to start push messaging that trump et al are looking to restrict gun carrying rights. Distraction, drama, give it all right back. Make them make statements that incriminate themselves and can be used against them with Alex Pretti's murder.

At this point, everyone believes trump was a pedophile and rapist, so while the democrats shouldn’t let go of this, hopefully they have a plan B. I am also wondering if Karoline Leavitt’s asshole ever get jealous of all the excrement that gets to come out of her mouth?

"We will not allow our Courthouses, Federal Buildings, or anything else under our protection, to be damaged in any way, shape, or form.” Only the President gets to do that.

Second protest sign idea: "Trump uses the DOJ to sue the government he controls so he can pay himself a judgment from your tax dollars." Donating it to charity? Sure, says the man who defrauded a children’s charity. He's trustworthy (cough, cough, gag, puke).

And the circus continues.
