On International Women's Day I am reading about the murder of a school full of girls by the girl and woman rapist Donald Trump. The horror never ends with this sociopathic-psychopath or psychopathic-sociopathy does it?There are protests in my city against violence against women and an Iranian singer is performing. Trump is just as hateful to women as the Ayatollah and anyone in Congress who supported this illegal war is just as hateful too.

Jean Conley's avatar

Yes. It is absolutely horrifying. I still can't understand for the life of me why so many support this terrorist. To me he IS worse than Ayatollah--mainly because we expect better from our presidents. And SHAME on all those stupid women for voting for him. If they hadn't, the MCP (Male Chauvinist Pig) would not be sitting in the Oval Office now. (Granted, that's only MY opinion......I obviously don't know for sure.)

Brenda Doherty, I feel like this too. Also, a disturbing “heads-up” shout out to our readership. Yes, it’s worse than you think. Today’s article by Eric Reinhardt writing for The Guardian finally sums up the MindF*ck we have been zombifided by. His article: “Americans aren’t facing a democratic collapse. We’re living in its aftermath. March 8, 2026. Here are the first two paragraphs that hit the nail on the head:

“Since Donald Trump returned to the White House, American political life has taken on a familiar rhythm. Each week brings another court ruling framed as a breaking point, another election cast as the last real one, another executive order described as the moment it all finally tips over the edge, another person murdered by a government that’s finally gone too far. Democratic party fundraising emails promise to “save the Republic”. Commentators warn that the guardrails are giving way. Anxious citizens refresh their screens, waiting for the collapse of American democracy.

This state of permanent panic rests on what Sigmund Freud called an illusion: a belief embraced not because it reflects reality, but because it satisfies a psychological need. The illusion in this case is that the United States still has a democracy to lose. The more unsettling truth is that Americans are not living under threat of future democratic breakdown; we are living inside the aftermath of one that has already occurred.”

https://www.theguardian.com/global/commentisfree/2026/mar/08/trump-democracy-oligarchy-policy

I alway appreciate Ron Flipkowski’s daily news round-up. But it wasn’t until someone said the quiet part out loud, that I felt relief. It’s much easier functioning in reality than dysfunctioning in a gaslit-zombified-distopia of collapsing. Now we can fight for the future. Blinders off.

Geri Cochran's avatar

I missed this article, so thanks so much for sharing. We've not been under a democracy for a while now. But so many independent news articles continue to write as if our country has continued our democratic republic; that it's really frustrating. The same with calling magas republicans...they are not republicans. Republicans believed in family, in keeping our debt low, in protecting and educating our children. Quit giving them the status of having a real political party. AND quit giving people like the VP the status of saying he's Catholic. He doesn't follow the 10 Commandments, and he does not believe he needs to care about anyone but himself and his nuclear family. He needs to be ex-communicated (along with his boss, Theil) from the Catholic Church.

Linda Weide's avatar

It is a dystopian reality. My book club just read "We" by Yegeny Zamyatin and then "1984" by George Orwell, who was influenced by the first book. We learned that these totalitarian leaders need to keep their countries in permanent war.

I have to say these books were very instructive and in some ways provide insights that non-fiction does not. I wrote a piece on the language "1984" and how the Trump regime uses it.

That photograph at the top of the five walking from the plane says it all; doddering, slumped over, decrepit, knuckle dragging, stinking senile old man wearing a baseball cap because the poor hairdresser who has to attend to that squirrel on the top of his bald head couldn’t make the trip. What a shit show this is. The devolution of man indeed. Put a monkey suit on him bringing up the rear and the imagery is complete. I wish to god they’d stop giving him whatever it is that keeps him going and let just the dementia do its work quickly. They better have plans for the day when he’s caught wandering around on the National Mall clad only in a soiled diaper talking to the pigeons.

Christine Karp's avatar

He has more wrong than dementia. His health is bad to begin with. Hoping every day that I hear a news bulletin that he has dropped dead. That seems like the only way we will ever be rid of this madman..

C Giza's avatar

The bigger problem is the spiderweb of his loyalists around the country that will still do anything to stop those of us who are now seen to them as "the enemy". Don't forget that Project 2025 was not his idea, but because he is both STUPID and SELFISH, he is being used by its creators to carry out their plot. Similarly, the Iranian Regime had many future leaders in line for their Regime to continue...It will take A UNITED FRONT to untangle this mess we have found ourselves trapped in.

This description was restacked today and I just thought it was the best use of the English language to describe trump.

“Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul—all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair,”

“Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn't but has always been—arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel. It is America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn’t just lose its soul—it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader.”

“History is watching. And this time, it’s our names on the line.”

“The Trump regime—this carnival of third-rate strongmen, grifters, sycophants, and sadists—isn’t innovating anything. It’s copying. It’s importing the authoritarian model wholesale. They’ve read the Putin playbook, dog-eared the best parts, and now they’re running it in real time. And the cruelty? That’s not a flaw in the system. That is the system.”

But wait, there’s more:

“Trump, a failed businessman and serial conman, didn’t stumble into power because he had a vision. He stumbled into it like a raccoon into a jewelry store: overwhelmed, opportunistic, and desperate to grab everything shiny before the lights come on,”

“He brought with him a gang of similarly hollow, self-serving goons—parasites in flag pins—who recognized that brute force and spectacle could serve as a perfect cover for mass-scale corruption. All they needed was enough boots, enough masks, and enough Americans too scared or too exhausted to resist.” Oliver Kornetzke

Declan's avatar

WH BLOCKING Intelligence Agencies from information law enforcement & the public?? Sounds like he WANTS an attack so he can do what he wants to....what would that be????

Dee Cee's avatar

He once asked why we had nuclear weapons if we didn't use them. I think that's a clue.

SFGal's avatar

Dee, reference Hegseth's ICBM Minuteman III unarmed missile test from Vandenberg this past Monday, March 3rd, sent 4,200 miles over the Pacific to the Marshall Islands atoll. If nuclear armed it would be 20 times greater than what was dropped on Hiroshima.

The Pentagon described the purpose of the test to "verify the effectiveness, readiness, and accuracy of the ICBM system," incidentally coinciding with ongoing U.S. military activities in the Middle East. A clue indeed. I put nothing past these inmates having escaped the asylum with the MAD nuclear codes

ramonaj's avatar

Verify effectiveness. Interesting. Like most of us don't already know? We all saw the horror of Hiroshima. These old people are playing fast and loose with the future of our young people. They must be stopped . We are not safe.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Yes, and with us, too!

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Maybe they had to clear the silos to make room for the next gen missiles? Blow off the dust? Ensure they still fly? Make sure they did not explode underground here? Lethality. “The Air Force diverted what it says was excess funding from its delayed new nuclear missile program to modify a former Qatari royal jet for use as President Donald Trump’s Air Force One. Northrop Grumman is building a new generation of land-based nuclear weapons to sit on alert in underground silos across the northern United States.” ‘Excess’ Nuclear Missile Funds Used to Modify Trump’s New Air Force One; AIR & Space Forces; 27-Jun-25 https://tinyurl.com/msyu8he4 Paging Dr. Strangelove; ER stat; Dr. Strangelove

Janice Darling's avatar

Handy that we have excess nuclear missile funds but no money available for SNAP benefits, health care insurance, education, scholarships and student loans, investigating the Epstein shit show, clean air and water, science research, etc etc etc. Strange that DOGE didn’t find that bit of waste, fraud and abuse. Or that the admin uses the excuse that it was already allocated by Congress for the purpose of defense, but other money allocated by Congress for science research, foundation grants, public broadcasting, FEMA, USAID, etc etc can be snatched back and used to buy Qatari jets and such….

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

All so true. DOGE has two purposes: (1) dismantle the administrative state as Vought decreed; and (2) compile and set Palantir's table with data that were ripe for integration, ready to be used against all who parted with it in trust

SFGal's avatar

Well, Kelvin, you're in the zone as part of the rationale offered was a "regular, long-running evaluation program to ensure the safety and reliability of the aging Minuteman III fleet before it is replaced by the LGM-35A Sentinel system." So yes, "blow off the dust."

But I see what you're saying about Sentinel funds diverted for the Golden Goose and other nuclear "options" being "explored." Thanks for the reference. I just don't like the seriously maladjusted with itchy fingers on the buttons.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Thank you, SFGal. I appreciate your kind words. It is reassuring that someone of your competence and knowledge shares many of the conclusions I reached

Dee Cee's avatar

Coincidence I'm sure. Not. Scary.

I absolutely agree with you.

Declan's avatar

Dee...is that another reason he's working on his nuclear proof bunker....below his ballroom? His gushing over ballroom is an act.

Dee Cee's avatar

ramonaj's avatar

What is he expecting to find after that. Nuclear winter when his fat ass crawls out. Idiots are not thinking this through. WTF is wrong with them.

… Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on CNN: Tapper - “You know that if you vote against an additional $50 billion of funding for operations in Iran, that vote will be cast as you voting against the troops. Murphy - Come on. The American people do not want this war. If you support the troops, you should be voting against this war to get them out of harm’s way.”

Thank you Senator Murphy! My letter to my congressional representatives and to Congressman Hakeem Jeffries:

Senator/Representative ____________:

It is being reported that the White House is expected to ask Congress for emergency funding in the amount of $50 billion to support the war in Iran.

Some Democrats (Slotkin, Reed, Peters) are on record as saying they will consider it, based on the fact that "we're in it" (Slotkin).

Republicans such as Susan Collins are framing their approval as necessary "to support our troops."

Supporting our troops means NOT sending them to their deaths in an illegal, ill advised, and poorly strategized war that has already been characterized by incompetence (Minab Elementary School) and disregard for the rules of engagement (strike on Qeshm Island freshwater desalination plant). Or, as Hegseth put it, this war is not going to be "politically correct," apparently justifying the killing of civilians, including children.

Too many innocent civilians have already been killed due to the actions and incompetence of this rogue administration. Americans are at risk for retaliatory terrorist attacks on our own soil. Please don't allow it to escalate!

Please vote NO on any supplemental spending package and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

Sincerely,

/s/

If you agree, please consider contacting your legislators. Feel free to copy my letter if you are so inclined. Thank you!

Christine Karp's avatar

No way my Senator Tammy Duckworth would support it. She lost both of her legs fighting in Iraq and she knows what war is all about.

It's clear to me that his HAT is required outside because otherwise his hairdo, long and contrived, would blow in the wind. Picture one of the old troll dolls. Trump has had scalp stretching and scalp flap surgery, and who knows what else, to keep the semblance of a flop of hair. In order to trick us into thinking he is young and virile, what hair he still has must be carefully arranged around his head, and some of it is 8 inches long. He is not able to switch to a shaved head, unfortunately, because it would look like Edward Scissorhands has had a go at him. His vanity trumps any protocol. But maybe he will look into some different hats. A fedora, a bowler, a top hat, a beret, a pith helmet, even one of Melania's more masculine numbers.
