She needs to take her own advice ("You don’t get to change the facts just because you don’t like them ... we don’t pick and choose which situations are in which laws are enforced and which ones aren’t.”

Then entire first half of this bulletin was pure Orwellian BS from Noem and Homan. If they ever tell the truth, it will be a cold day in hell.

The corruption is no longer hidden—it’s operating in plain sight. Trump and his allies are openly serving themselves from the public treasury, and we will regret every day of this lawlessness.

The killing of Renee Nicole Macklin Good shows the collapse of oversight in real time: state investigators barred, federal silence, a family left with grief.

The law calls this depraved indifference. But this is worse. It’s exuberantly depraved indifference—the celebration of impunity itself.

Kristi Noem’s CNN performance made it unmistakable: facts declared even an before investigation, loyalty replacing truth, and a double standard laid bare when January 6 attackers were pardoned by Donald Trump.

This isn’t public safety. It’s power exempting itself from consequence.

The past two weeks feel incredibly chaotic. However, I suspect this might simply be the Trump effect. Every two weeks something even more absurd happens so we forget the last one. Just two weeks ago Trump said Russia wants Ukraine to succeed but it’s lost in the tide of new craziness.

carolbert55's avatar

To your point, I was just thinking that it would be valuable for Ron, HCR, Aaron Parnas, Meidas Touch folks etc to make it part of each days report to swing back on the chaos from a week or so ago. Like, are the National Guard troops really gone from DC and the other cities? What’s up with SNAP? We hear things and then they disappear into the abyss…

He said the videos were being sent out via Starlink even though the internet was down, and he showed a lot of comments from viewers around the world. They seemed all in for Trump and confident he would save them. We'll see about that. A lot of them were chanting in support of the former Shah's son and waving the flag of his father.

And -- really?!?! -- the House has nothing better to do than vote on shower heads???

Expand full comment
Bob's avatar

That was the very first bill that was up for consideration. Some dope from Florida sponsored it. I’ve lived in four states, visited a couple dozen others. The only times I’ve had an issue with a shower was when the water was cold. No shower I used while living in California for over 25 years lacked pressure or volume. Maybe the Orange Idiot doesn’t know how to work a faucet.

Expand full comment
Karen D's avatar

There may be some regulations on shower heads but actual water pressure comes from a water regulator at the meter. Some municipalities regulate what that should be. My point is that just taking off regulations for a shower head may not solve the pressure problem. Not that this should be a hot topic considering the stew of other problems we have.....

Expand full comment
sharon's avatar

We have a well so pressure varies all the time. We also have septic. Water bills and sewer user fees are astronomical in many states. Septic field repair cost is also astronomical. Why would anyone with a single functioning braincell want to use more water than necessary.

And this isn't even addressing the serious drought issues that many states are facing and that will only become worse with all the AI data centers being built. I never knew how totally ignorant a vast number of Americans are until they elected trump. Not once, but twice.

Expand full comment
Bob's avatar

Pressure regulation as part of building codes isn’t new either. You’d think the expert of all experts in building would know such things.

If it isn’t the chaos he’s cooking up, there’s the chaos beyond America’s control, which he foolishly thinks he can fix.

On a side note, in contrast to ICE agents not wearing body cameras: cashiers at Walmart now have body cams. They’re little yellow boxes attached to their ID badges. If Walmart cashiers can wear body cams, why can’t ICE? And, as a bonus, the cashiers aren’t masked and haven’t killed anyone either.

Expand full comment
NatureBear's avatar

But, by not having body cameras, ICE thereby retains their current ability to provide their untruthful version of events unless there are independent videos of what actually happened.

This is why "citizen journalism" is of the utmost importance in order to prove the reality of every situation so that the "Brownshirts" can't deceive the American People.
