This cognitive idiot doesn’t give a crap about the American people. He is making it harder for us to keep food on our table and gas in our cars. Trump is really a vial piece of crap.

SamanthaEnn's avatar

Doesn't give a crap about any people.

Douglas Gilligan's avatar

Well of course he does... Care about the very rich people owning the oil companies.

When Trump says "We" he means himself and other rich people like him, especially those who 'donate' to him.

Dee Joy's avatar

That's exactly who he is and who he's working for.

America getting richer means "Me and my buddies."

The Golden age of America is the same, him and his buddies, at the detriment of the American people and the world.

Dumpty dementia is kicking in again Article 2 Section 4, now he has put us in a war, and now it has gone out of hand, other countries are now fighting in this war because of him. He did this to deflect from the Ebstein files. It didn't work trump. The Ebstein files investigation still goes forward.

Nancy G Leveson's avatar

He keeps saying that "we are making money from the higher prices." Perhaps the oil companies are (but they are paying more for crude oil) but the US and its citizens are not making money from higher oil prices. Why doesn't anyone call him out when he tells such stupid lies?

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Right. He's speaking directly to Big Oil not us common folk. Just like he was speaking directly to the billionaires during his campaign rallies, "You're going to be so rich!" That's why the billionaires lined up to kiss his ass with their cups in their hands after he was re-elected! The stupid MAGAts thought he was speaking to them and voted for him! No one will call him out unfortunately as our media is now controlled by the regime; state media.

Not to mention these oil companies still have to pay for refining it. Different brands have different mixes in their brands. When a stations either hires someone or has their own driver get loads of gas to distribute at the terminal, the driver adds the mix into whichever section has premium, for example. My guess is very few people understand this. They believe it comes from the terminal this way. It doesn't. Big oil doesn't equal the corner franchise owner. Franchise owners haven't made a profit on gas or diesel in decades.

"Why", indeed?!!!!

Liz Cheney was so spot-on with her comment, "The single most important thing for the country is Donald Trump can't be anywhere near the Oval Office again."

I disagree - I think he understands exactly what he's doing to us and he loves it.

Terry's avatar

He loves it and doesn't care about others. When was the last time trump worked a full days work, received a paycheck, paid his own bills, swiped his own debit card to buy gas? Balanced a checkbook? Never is my guess.

If understanding exactly what he is doing means full awareness of everything inside the bubble (semipermeable enough to allow unceasing enhancement without any corresponding volume or pressure loss), created to secure what is his (everything of value) and to keep out all that is neither his problem nor his fault (everything that has a downside), I agree. In simple terms, he exists as the embodiment of all Four Horseman of the Apocalypse (Conquest, War, Famine, and Death), keeper of the sycophantic progeny of each, nominally designated as the Cabinet + GOP Congress + a 6-pack. He understands nothing except his hyperinflated crypto wallet, filled by mammon with what was or should be ours and, on the flip side, the well-bitten evil that guides his reptilian life.

Donald Trump really is the most out of touch moron in the entire World. He says that oil/gas prices going sky high was his goal all along because it will make so much money for the US! What for the billionaire Oil Companies? Certainly not for the American People, who are already suffering tremendously under Donald Trump's ignorance and asinine policies, he is now just making our lives even worse, even more expensive, not just costing us far more at the gas pumps, utilities costs will also go even higher than they have already been skyrocketing, and it will also cause all consumer goods including our groceries to also go up even more than they already have because of his moronic, idiotic, demented ideas and lack of care whatsoever for the American People, AT ALL! He can't expire soon enough or painfully enough to make any of this OK. I don't care if it's Iran, treason against the Country and the ultimate punishment for it, the Grim Reaper finally doing his job, Satan coming to take him home, or God smiting him down for eternity. Just make it happen and make it happen yesterday! And take his entire family, entire Administration and all of the MAGA Party down with him at the same time.

“But all the stories about the devil making a deal and then cheating missed the point. The real horror was that once the bargain was struck, the devil didn’t cheat. He gave you exactly and explicitly all that had been promised. And the price was your soul.”

~ James S.A. Corey

And so it would be with him if he had had one. His bargain with the devil was illusory - trading nothing by way of a soul because, in truth, he had not to bargain. What awaits him is more special and certainly more suited to his unrepentant treachery.

Dante’s cantos XXXI to XXXIV of Inferno present Cocytus, a frozen lake in which are punished those who betrayed people with whom they had a special bond of trust (treacherous fraud). It's the most disgusting BS I've ever seen in my life!! DT stole $10B of taxpayer money “to fund Board of Peace” he's made up to protect himself, his corrupt traitorous criminal 1st family and regime from ever being held accountable for any crimes they've committed or continue to commit. Check it out cause even if we get him out of our WH he will be protected under the rules of his BOP along with the 1st family, Kushner, Witkoff and at least 10 World Leader's who have bought in for $1B each and have committed military armies to protect BOP. Gotta wonder how many of them are named in the Epstein file's that they are refusing to release?? BOP Members have Diplomatic Immunity and an army bigger than most Country's have. It will be built in Gaza on 350 acres of land cleared by Netanyahu's bombing and his genocide there. Which Netanyahu's continued on into Lebanon today dropping White Phosphorus over the people in Lebanon. That is a war crime being committed in real time and DT let's him get away with it as DT continues killing civilians in Iran. Linsay Graham touts “we're going to make TONS of money from the Iran War.” Who we?? This is wrong and RepubliCONS are complicit in all of it. They won't hold him accountable for any of the destruction of our Country or his crimes!! Why??

No doubt Gianni (Brown Nose) FIFA has more tricks and trophies up his, um, sleeve. Why would any nation put or allow its citizens to be placed at risk here? I understand how important it must be for the competitors to participate - this is their specialized quasi-Olympics. Just average the scores from Ca/Mex or play make-up games 50/50 in each and have playoffs in both of them. None here. If people did not buy game tickets or premium TV passes, then travel, restaurants, entertainment and hospitality would suffer. Consider it a patriotically-imposed boycott. Sometimes some must pay the price for all (see, Soldiers, Dead, 7 so far).

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

A USAF KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq on 12-Mar-26 killing [edit: all] 6 crewmembers on the aircraft. It just keeps getting worse and will continue to do so. Military planners (it is hard to discern if any strategic planning was done; tactical planning alone, if even that was done, tends to get you nowhere better than here, and it likely will get worse) gave far too little credit to Iran's military capacity and the lengths and extent to which it has gone and is willing to go. We only are two weeks into this and it will get worse. As Dear Leader observed banally and stupidly, "When you go to war, some people will die.” So far [13] US lives have been destroyed (in addition to the traumatic brain injuries and shrapnel injuries, one of which may require a limb amputation). [13] families forever changed. None of these lives nor any of the lives in Iran and regionally needed to be forfeit solely because 47 and Bibi decreed the sacrifice of other people’s children to be an incidental cost of their war.

With American military aid potentially drying up, European nations may have to rapidly build up their own military capabilities—an unlikely scenario given their long-standing reliance on U.S. protection since 1945. The continent is left with two primary alternatives: align with Vladimir Putin’s vision of an expanding Russia or turn to Xi’s growing economic and diplomatic reach. As U.S. influence continues to recede, the global balance of power is shifting. While it may not resemble a Cold War in the traditional sense, the reality is clear: China is filling the void left by America’s retreat, and Europe may soon find itself at a crossroads, forced to choose between military independence or economic dependence on Beijing. https://intpolicydigest.org/the-platform/a-shift-in-superpower-status/

Quantum Kitty's avatar

The last four days I have had to take a break away from all the news. I have been following this since before the election, and I’m exhausted. I’ve gone to the rallies, I’ve contributed to my favorite candidates and causes, I posted daily, but I can’t sleep at night. I feel hopeless. I detest this Nazi regime for all the cruelty and fraud. I worry that all the money will be stolen. I worry that our country will never be looked at the same again. My eyes have been opened to the insanity that has been part of our country for so very long. We have been the war mongers. Throughout history we have committed the genocides – and now our leaders on both sides have supported the genocide in Gaza. Our leaders took AIPAC money – took corporate money to vote against our interests. The people we sent to Washington have not been voting for what we wanted for years now. Even on the left, they have thrown scraps to the working men and women, while voting for corporate welfare and wars, and regime changes in other countries. Now we have come to a place where we have a president who doesn’t even bother to follow the law because he doesn’t have to follow the law because this is what we have created. I’m so tired of hearing the jokes about how crazy Trump is – it’s just not funny. I’m so tired of hearing Democrats & my favorite new progressive media post on social media about all the problems and how horrible Trump & his regime are, and not telling me what the solution is – because they don’t have a fucking solution besides go and vote and send more money for the cause - thats the solution??? I have been voting my whole life - I worked my whole life – I supported all the right causes. Obviously it’s not fucking enough. Even people on my own side don’t want to talk to me because I am trying to tell them that the people we put in office have screwed us. They have been screwing us for years – they have been lying to us for years. Bernie Sanders is the only person who has been steadfast enough to stay on the message that it’s the wealthy who have all the power – it’s the wealthy that get all the breaks. I want to start hearing these progressive media tell me the truth – tell me they see what I see – yes the other side is worse, but are they? Haven’t we been lied to by both sides? Is it worse that they did the deed or that they stayed silent about the deed?

Camille Kelly's avatar

You are not alone. Trump is creating a selfish, miserable world where we are all increasingly unhappier and exhausted each and every day with little positive progress and no end in sight.

Susan Troy's avatar

Trump is capitalizing on the last fifty years of praising winning at all costs, no matter who it hurts, destroys, or disables. Money, money, money, and praise for the "selfish gene." And this is what we reap. I look outside my window and see a garden full of the promise of spring. Daffodils, lavender, tulips, and birdsong. When it rains, I see dew diamonds on tree branches. The world is full of wealth that exists beyond markets. In Biblical terms, we have become a nation that worships the Golden Calf. That is coming back to bite us. Nature is generous, but under this regime, the culmination of years of greed, we are destroying it. Unless we stop it, we will destroy ourselves completely.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

“The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It's bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price per paper clip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it. Now you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you buddy? It's the free market." The Gordon Gekko character, portrayed by the actor Michael Douglas, in "Wall Street" (1987 movie)

Susan Troy's avatar

💚your reply is so interesting, because as I was writing my post today, I was thinking the only thing that I can depend on is the beautiful nature that I love so much. I walk around my city lake as often as I can. it’s a little over 2 miles and it’s so beautiful and it’s the only thing that centers me and makes me feel connected. I get immersed in the beautiful trees and the ducks and the geese and the turtles and the squirrels and the deer. And now spring is coming and all the trees are beginning to bloom and the dog woods are so beautiful and the Easter lilies are coming out and I cling to that - nature that I can always depend on. Thank you for your reply – it made me cry.💚

I'm at a loss to reply well. If you found value in it, you are welcome. I certainly did not mean to cause a cascade of tears or even one to trickle. Let me try to set it right in the wonderful spirit you project from deep within your clear-eyed soul:

In Time of Silver Rain (1947) by Langston Hughes

In time of silver rain

The earth

Puts forth new life again,

Green grasses grow

And flowers lift their heads,

And over all the plain

The wonder spreads

Of life, of life, of life!

In time of silver rain

The butterflies lift silken wings

To catch a rainbow cry,

And trees put forth

New leaves to sing

In joy beneath the sky

As down the roadway passing boys

And girls go singing, too,

In time of silver rain

When spring

And life are new.

thank you for your message 💚I haven’t thrown in the towel and am still planning to attend our No Kings rally this month, but I just had to break away & vent today. Actually I vent every day in my posts 😹 but the last 4 days felt heavy. I truly believe that electing the right woman is a wonderful idea. Other countries have elected women as their leaders And I honestly can’t think of one that has been as cruel and underhanded like our last GOP presidents - of course trump is the most evil insane creature of all of them.

Susan Troy's avatar

Be careful what you wish for. I just learned that the Prime Minister in Japan is a woman and she is a right-wing warmonger. But we have two excellent women governors in Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger.

Susan Troy's avatar

Oh, Kitty. I didn't mean to make you cry, but the beauty of nature does that to me as well. We live on a hillside, and every year I plant 200 more daffodil bulbs. Daffodils return every year, require no water in the summer, and the deer don't like them, but I do. This year, I'm planning to plant 500 as a personal protest against the vanity of overprivileged, overpaid, and self-entitled folks who destroy everything they touch just because they can. I love the picture you painted of your lake.

Quantum Kitty's avatar

Oh how wonderful!!! I love daffodils - In October I put in a new yard of mini clover with a mix of fescue, kentucky blue grass & one other that skips my mind, and now I have to choose all the beautiful perennial flowers & blooming bushes to go around my house - daffodils will be a big part of that selection / they are the first to bloom & they proliferate beautifully. Btw the mini clover lawn came in green & stayed bright green all winter even with 12” of snow & below freezing temps for over a month. When everything else died the clover mix stayed green. It is so nourishing for the soil & it will attract butterflies & bees which I am thrilled about. Thanks for the mind visual vacation💚

Susan Troy's avatar

Hi Kitty, this sounds beautiful! One thing I have done is let Oxalis (with clover-like leaves and a beautiful yellow flower) spread across my hillside garden. It is sometimes considered a weed, but I call it my oxalis snow because it comes up when everything in California is turning brown and, like your clover, stays green all winter and blooms with yellow flowers even earlier than daffodils. Bees and butterflies love it, and it outcompetes some of the weeds I truly do not want. Then, poignantly, it melts into a nice organic thatch that shields emerging plants when the weather warms. No need for pesticides! Happy Friday and happy gardening. Encouraging beauty is a wonderful way to counter hate. ❤️

Trump is the worst - but we must have a clear vision of who we really are - who we have been electing to office who have not represented who we are. We must be honest about where we came from if we want to move forward - otherwise we are just lying to ourselves, only to end up right back repeating our same history

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Dear Mama Schrödinger, I gave some thought to your notion of who we are and were and were, focusing our elected presidents (ignoring Ford, who was not elected) over the last 50 years. It made me sick: in effect, Faulkner’s the past is never dead or even past

• Carter failed 52 Americans for 444 days in Iran and the rest of us for four years

• Reagan. A yahoo who favored beating Berkeley kids in the ‘60s. Never improved.

• Bush 41. Thought it would be fun to help oil pals with our the troops in Gulf War I

• Clinton. The man has some issues.

• Bush 43. Warred against 2 countries which were not home to any 9/11 monsters

• *Obama* - a shining start in this constellation of dimwits

• 45. The unheeded warning shot.

• Biden – good man, just 20 years told old to start and 25 years to old at the finish

• 47. The promise made by 45 now being kept with sprinkles and a cherry on top

By my count, in 50 years, we enjoyed 8 under a brilliant leader (Obama), 8 under a brilliant but misguided man (Clinton), 4 under Grandpa Joe (Biden) and 4 under a man who was far better as an ex-president than a sitting one (Carter). 26 years of GOP hate.

So, if forward looks like our debarkation point, what’s the point? We did not have a political party in office for more than 12 consecutive years (RMR/GHWB). The pendulum never rested, nor has the world or the American people be able to rest. Forward can neither be a return to the status quo ante nor an extension of the status quo. It must be based on flawed but certainly more moral leaders such as HST/DDE, without the baggage, but with the ability to earn and deserve the respect it takes to lead.

Geri Cochran's avatar

The elected that are backing him are magas, though they continue to call themselves republicans; but they are magas only. They do not deserve to call themselves republicans, imo. Most of them are cowards, too scared to say no to their new savior. Some however have swallowed their pride and chose to become like the felon. Those leaving apparently still have a bit of conscience left...but they will never wash the taint off themselves, both in this life and in the next, imo. It's sad. I'd like them to all go to the middle east and put their lives on the front lines. In fact anyone who votes for war MUST send one of their nuclear family members - or go to the front lines themselves. When their own ass is at risk, they'd be less likely to allow the felon to go to war, imo.

Terry's avatar

There are so many in Congress still backing him. I don't know why, since so many are leaving, quitting, retiring, giving up, understanding that trump has trashed their careers and they, ever so willingly, went along with it all. They're all disgusting. Some, like Graham and Johnson (Mikey), are no better than trump.
