I have no faith in the American people. The diesel bribe will likely work in places like Iowa.

EK's avatar

I’m not totally convinced it will. This is not going to really help prices. Farmers are still going to be really hurting. There will be some whose racism and bigotry will reign supreme, but many see their bottom line being destroyed.

Angie's avatar

I hope you’re right and I’m wrong.

Kathyt's avatar

Just earlier today, Mr.Global (Matt Randolf) was talking on his podcast about the oil/gas interests will push the republican puppets to nail us taxpayers with the bill to clean up and cap old and dying oil fields/ wells instead of forcing the oil companies to clean up their own messes. As usual, let the taxpayers foot the bill for the oligarchs.

Jeffrey Oswald's avatar

If it actually materialized, and I bet it doesn’t, it will be too little and too late to help any farmers. Crops are either being harvested right now or have already been harvested weeks ago.

Wendy Shelley's avatar

Earlier on MeidasTouch I learned that 300 tonnes of diesel was about 18 minutes worth, 500 tonnes was about a half hour. Don’t think this is going to bribe very many people! Felon is doing this only to help out Russia, especially against Ukraine. Sure hope folks don’t get too excited about this!

Jen Valente's avatar

What’s to say the US actually receives any diesel? This is likely more BS. Also, it seems to fly in the face of the new Lindsay Graham law sanctioning Russia.

Sarah's avatar

Correct and trump has basically bailed on the u.s.

Nancy Endersby's avatar

Jen my own opinion is that the Lindsay Graham proposal to sanction Russia was all for show to his base. Trump and many others in that regime are tied to Russia.

Boeing 777's avatar

Lots of US citizens can't do math, so expect that to go over their heads. Ukraine is already doing a good job of nailing Russia where it hurts, so trump got played, AGAIN.

Oaktown's avatar

I disagree. I think it's well established that Trump's closest ally is Putin, not NATO and not Ukraine. Putin is on the rocks because of Ukraine's constant destruction of their oil refineries and infrastructure, plus his sanction-breaking ships carrying oil. His economy is in free fall. He can't find enough soldiers and has taken to kidnapping drunk men on the street and forcing them to enlist.

*****BUT***** he has recently deployed much improved drones that are so fast Ukraine cannot reliably shoot them down as they had been doing so effectively until now; he's destroying their energy and power grids in an attempt to freeze them out this winter. This "deal" will help Putin achieve his goal AND put more money in his pockets, all while BoneSpurs continues to undermine Ukraine at every turn hoping Zelenskyy will cave and he, Kushner, and Nutlick can carve up Ukraine's resources between them and Putin. For now, Donnie Diaper can keep his MAGA base in the cult of deception with yet another false promise before the midterms, but that's not all.

Cap'n BS's next move will be to blame high gas and diesel prices on Zelenskyy for bombing Putin's oil refineries (Putin can skimp on providing the diesel because, as BoneSpurs said in his tweet, " ... based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel."

When Putin doesn't deliver, mark my words, Donnie Diaper will blame Zelenskyy for bombing Putin's oil infrastructure.

Boeing 777's avatar

The only problem with that is that Iran still has its thumb on the scale with a quarter of the world's oil supply being bottlenecked. And there's the fact diesel was rising long before Ukraine started hitting Russia's refineries, as it was directly tied to the strait being closed.

Oaktown's avatar

True, but that's clearly Trump's doing and he only has bad and worse options available now. You make the case that will put all the blame on high prices right where it belongs: on Trump.

Karen Jacob's avatar

Unfortunately Russia has been retaliating by bombing civilian targets.

Felon doesn’t care about ‘laws’ when it comes to letting Putin help screwing around with our elections!

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

I believe it’s all a lie. I thought Zelenskyy was hitting Russian refineries regularly. The amount is not believable either. And harvest season is almost over. Maybe I’m naive.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

I thought about that too, Linda. I hope this is all bullshit. No, you're not naive.

Paul Kaufman's avatar

We all know any initiative coming from Trump is almost certainly bullshit….

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

Right?! Probably why he reeks of shit.

Joanne - By Friday we all need to let all our frustrations and shock out. Thank you to Ron for tolerating us loyal subscribers,

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

I agree. A lot of fucked up shit this week, especially today. It just doesn't stop!

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

The Iowa harvest I believe is almost over. By the time the diesel gets there, if it isn’t another big lie, it might help a little with the snow plows I guess.

DeBurgh's avatar

The Trump-Putin diesel deal confirms that the United States and Russia are allies. We have been since Feb 2025 when Trump ordered our UN ambassador to vote for Russia and against Ukraine.

This diesel fuel deal won't help Americans. It's a deal to help Putin! Our farmers and truckers will financially support Russia in its bombing of women and children.

The Press and Congress are behind the times. They still think the US is against Russia and North Korea when they are our allies. Our enemies are Canada and Europe. Please catch up.

Oaktown's avatar

Agree, except Trump and Putin have been allies far longer. How can you forget when, in Feb. 2022, he lauded Putin for being a genius after invading Ukraine? How can we forget Helsinki in Trump 1.0? Democracy is a threat to Trump because he can only succeed as a criminal in an atmosphere where trust has become a fossil of the past and criminals rule.

Paul Kaufman's avatar

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could see Hegseth executed for treason? It doesn’t even need to be streamed live.

“If Trump Steals an Election, Here’s What to Do

Nonviolent rebellion has proven again and again to be the most effective way of ousting even a determined autocrat.”

Neil Abrams, The New Republic, October 7, 2026

The following are excerpts:

“Leading experts agree that the U.S. has transitioned to authoritarianism during Trump’s second term. The days when constitutional checks and balances were enough to keep a rogue president in line are over. What’s more, defeating a Republican at the ballot box no longer guarantees that he will accept defeat.

Still, Trump is not some omnipotent demigod casting thunderbolts at will upon his hapless subjects. No dictator can rule without the people’s consent. Withdraw that consent, and he is just another guy with a spray tan and a chancy comb-over.

Nonviolent rebellion—the strategic use of protests, strikes, and similar methods—has paralyzed authoritarian regimes and forced despots from power the world over. It can work in America too.

If the conventional political process is not sufficient to restore democracy, nonviolent rebellion remains the most effective tool. To counter GOP election theft, Americans might have to mount a rebellion of their own. The good news is that our fellow citizens have already produced one such movement during Trump’s second term. When jackbooted federal thugs began forcing Minnesotans into unmarked vans, Minneapolitans responded.”

Yes it does need to be livestreamed. I'd love to see that! 🤭

Sarah's avatar

This country would fall in with the barbarians of Afganistán and Iran. The United States need not tolerare public execution. As it is the death penalty is pretty much off the books in civilized countries.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

It already is basically with the gestapo (ICE) but I know what you mean. It reminds me of ISIS. However, I would love to see Trump and the entire regime executed and I'm strongly against capital punishment. They deserve death for what they have done to this country and the world.

Penny Thibeaux's avatar

Yes that would be justified and awesome to witness

That diesel is not going to be delivered, if ever, before the election. Also, is it refined for American trucks? But most importantly, why is Russia the only source of supply? Or is it? Why is the US taxpayer subsidizing a nation that made an unprovoked attack against another country? Democrats should demand that Congress be called back into session to stop this absolutely traitorous deal Trump made with Putin. As for Ukraine, you know where you stand with the felon Trump. Go back home. There's nothing to talk about with this regime. And don't stop blowing up Russian refineries. We know why gas and diesel and heating oil costs so much more: Trump's War.

Sophia's avatar

Supposedly the Russians don’t even have enough diesel for their own people right now so how are they sending that much to us? I agree that’s is not getting delivered before the election

Oaktown's avatar

Part of Trump's win with this "deal" is he will claim Zelenskyy is responsible for the high gas/diesel prices Trump brought us with the Iran war and his refusal to defeat Putin by withholding aid from Ukraine. He's setting Zelenskyy up to blame for Trump's own disastrous and treasonous actions.

Sophia's avatar

Oh definitely. He’s been doing that for awhile and it will just get worse.

Oaktown's avatar

There's always that too.

Angie's avatar

I’m also embarrassed for Zelenskyy. I’m really not sure why he keeps letting them punk him. Is it because Europe is weak?

Oaktown's avatar

I am not one bit embarrassed for Zelenskyy.

I think he keeps demonstrating to blind and ignorant Americans—through participating in the Trump show's fake negotiations—that *he* is negotiating in good faith, but Trump, Nutlick and Kushner are NOT. I have no doubt whatsoever that Zelenskyy knows more about what's going on than any American does, but he is at a serious disadvantage given the dishonest and biased US media coverage and being squeezed by two much more powerful countries lined up against him.

Sarah's avatar

I agree. He knows what he is doing and he has a solid country behind him who believe in the sovereignty for their country.

Joanne Gatsis's avatar

I've often thought the same. How many fucking times does he need to get bitch slapped?

Paul Kaufman's avatar

Agreed. He needs to step down after the election and not run again.

Chuck's avatar

So Trump is helping out his ol' pal Putin by buying oil despite global sanctions on the genocidal war criminal regime? The SAME Russia who is giving satellite intel to help Iran target U.S. troops in the region?

Anyone ELSE see anything wrong with helping the country that's helping KILL AMERICAN TROOPS?

We're WAY PAST impeachment, here, my fellow Americans...giving aid and comfort to an enemy killing our troops is TREASON. PERIOD.

LHS's avatar

And he thinks he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, in part because "He is making best efforts to end the Russia/Ukraine war". AYFKM? He is cozying up to a murderous dictator and betraying Ukraine and he thinks he should get the Peace Prize for his "best efforts"? 🤬And what's with the third person in that statement?

Oaktown's avatar

The irony is he could very well have won the Peace prize if he had provided Ukraine and NATO with the support and weapons they needed to defeat Putin. If he had, the war would be over by now and one of the worst thugs and killers would be toast.

I love that they gave the Nobel to a woman who fought apartheid, was an ICC judge, and helped Palestinians; I think it was an intentional slap in Donnie's ugly gooey face—maybe Elon's too.
