So pathetic that Blanche failed so miserably, including the integrity test, and it’s in the hands of 1 vote. It should’ve been a landslide against this awful inappropriate choice.

Dave from California's avatar

Regardless of how Cornyn votes, Dems need to put a spotlight on every Banana Republican who rubber-stamps Blanche.

and Banana Democrat, aka fetterman.

Many of the others want the Epstein files opened. Tillis, Cleghorn Leghorn John Kennedy, maybe even Grassley. Meidas should question them. Even Marsha Blackburn, who asked for them and was frustrated by her own party, and my otherwise MAGA cultist senator, Ashley Moody who was a prosecutor who prosecuted or as a judge heard Florida rape cases

On July 15, 2025: H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act was introduced in the House by Representative Ro Khanna.

According to reporting by Haberman and Swan, top officials held a secret, chaotic damage-control meeting in the White House Situation Room on July 17, 2025, to manage the political fallout from unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files as detailed in Regime Change. Read the full story at The New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/10/magazine/trump-epstein-files-white-house-vance-doj.html

"Vice President JD Vance took a seat at the head of the table in the John F. Kennedy Conference Room of the Situation Room complex. “This is a huge problem,” he told the group. Arrayed around him were the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles; the White House counsel, David Warrington; the press secretary, Karoline Leavitt; the deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich; the communications director, Steven Cheung; the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche; the associate attorney general, Stanley Woodward Jr.; and the deputy chief of staff James Blair. Attorney General Pam Bondi and the F.B.I. director, Kash Patel, joined on speakerphone."

.... "Blanche laid out what he saw as their best options.

Option 1 was to petition Federal District Courts in Florida and New York to unseal the grand jury testimonies — the secret transcripts of prosecutors’ presentations of witnesses and evidence in their efforts to obtain indictments in past Epstein-related cases. As those were almost certain to contain no significant new information, everyone agreed that this option was a good idea, and not only because a release was unlikely to damage the president.

Under the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the secrecy of grand jury materials is regarded by most federal judges as almost always inviolate, and the bar for any release is exceptionally high. If the courts refused to unseal them — as Blanche predicted — they could shift the blame for withholding the Epstein material away from the Trump administration and onto the judges. And all the better if the judges had been appointed by Democratic presidents. Blanche’s suggestion would make it appear that the White House wanted the materials released, when it was almost certain not to happen.

Option 2 was to have Justice Department lawyers question Maxwell and publicly release the transcript — a twist on the idea proposed earlier by Vance. Blanche offered to interview Maxwell himself.

“What if we got her to talk to Congress?” Vance suggested.

Blanche raised the possibility that Maxwell’s lawyer might expect something in return for her candor.

Warrington, the White House counsel, responded by laying out the available choices, without advocating any of them. Maxwell could be given a pardon, he said, or she could have her sentence reduced.

At that, several around the table spoke up to register their strong disapproval."

In his testimony, Blanche said that the FBI had control of the records and that they determined which to proffer and they blocked production at their discretion before he received them. about 2.5 million documents remain unreleased or heavily redacted. Blanche maintains that the withheld files are largely duplicates, unrelated to the investigation, or protected by legal privilege.

The Epstein Bill wasn't signed until November.

The elements of obstruction of justice, and conspiracy should be familiar to Blanche. Senators should have them entered into the record along with the news article.

Potentially, Blanche is at least a material witness regarding the allegations.

The senators could have asked him to testify about the role of the FBI in manipulating the records.

In the SDFL case, he failed to provide a log explaining the basis for each record withheld. The senators could force him to produce that log. Same in the Pfang case. Senators could ask to see the withheld 2.5 million records ASAP.

The fear is real. NM AG is hitting every roadblock from DOJ in his quest to obtain unredacted Epstein Files in the investigation regarding Epstein's Zorro Ranch which was the alleged scene of trafficking and abuse. Carte Blanche committed perjury in his Confirmation Hearing claiming that DOJ is cooperating in the NM investigation. Jay Clayton, in his Confirmation Hearing, said he can't release the files because "the documents are subject to several protections, including a protective order.” So which is it? "Democratic Washington lawmakers now demanding the USDOJ release un-redacted Epstein files to NM" https://www.koat.com/article/democratic-washington-lawmakers-now-demanding-the-usdoj-release-un-redacted-epstein-files-to-nm/72879654

Indeed, should be a landslide!! That being said, until the vote is done, maybe it might still happen. What they say today doesn’t mean they have to do it in the end!! Just take the example of President TACO, and despite what he wants, just know you can back out on him right up until the votes are cast . . . and maybe . . . even then. Just get it done

Karen Rivera's avatar

Inappropriate to most of America, perfect choice for Donny Dumb Dumb because Carte Blanche is loyal only to Donny and gave up his integrity, if he ever had any, when he became Donny's attorney.

Bri's avatar

I would never bet on Cornyn, the loyal mouse, to do anything that required courage. However, maybe his scorn will emboldened him.

D Cit's avatar

You are correct. In the end The spineless bastard will most likely vote for the idiot.

MM Harris's avatar

makes one wonder if there's some possible huge financial deal coloring the decision..

Dr. Brenda's avatar

Cannot trust anyone and definitely NOT Cornyn or Tillis. Tillis is pathetic. All talk and no action.

Rosann's avatar

Couldn’t agree more about Tillis. He has nothing to lose and still can’t do the right thing.

Leanne Garcia's avatar

I thought he’d vote no for sure. So disappointing. 😢

Cynthia Jensen's avatar

🤣🤣 And you support thus administration that's full of liars and sexual abusers. You really know how to pick em

Annieb's avatar

Anyone who votes for Blanche is demonstrating that they have no regard for the constitution, rule of law, democracy or the American people.

Jan's avatar

Blanche would be just another criminal in the crazy Trump cabinet

Edward mead's avatar

You got that right about Donald Trump's cabinet: all are Trump Crazy, and none are qualified to be doing the job they are doing.

The USA is in a hell of a mess with a communist Donald Trump as President, and his cabinet has no balls of knowledge to do the job. But all of them have puckered lips to kiss the dirty ass of Donald Trump when he throws a fit at them.

sharon's avatar

Communism in its intended ideology per Marx is a wonderful concept: "Common Ownership: All major means of production (e.g., land, factories, resources) are collectively owned by the public rather than private capitalists". There are several employee owned business that operate on this concept. Major ones include, among others, Green Bay Packers. It is fan owned. King Arthur Flour Baking CO. is another that is employee owned. AMICA Insurance is member owned. The problem isn't communism, a word sorely overused to the point of no longer having meaning. The problem is trump and the republican party are fascists. There is no redeeming concept in fascism.

Mary Lou Williams's avatar

I happened on CSPAN after Trump talk last night. International terrorism was the topic at an event hosted by Rubio, Besset, and Steven Miller. They are targeting “the left “ organizations as supporting Antifa etc. No mention of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and J6. Such hypocrisy. Who was in the audience I do not know but definitely trying to resurrect the 1950’s scare of Communism.

sharon's avatar

It's truly surreal. People OPPOSED to fascism are now seen as terrorists. Organizations that want to protect our race, our gender, our ability to have a voice in our government are named as terrorists. Organizations who want to make sure our Constitutional laws apply are named as terrorists!

We now have Amnesty International openly engaged in the USA! We have countless organizations hoping to protect our vote! trump disparages "third world" countries. he needs to look in the mirror. he and his sycophantic republican toadies have turned the USA into one.

Dave from California's avatar

Disagree that he is a communist; rather the flipside of that coin, a fascist. He sure likes spending taxpayers' money, though, example... giving or loaningv😉 was it $40 bilion? to prop up Argentina's fascist government.

Edward mead's avatar

Dave, Trump calls Russia Putin each day. For what advice or orders?

Karen Rivera's avatar

I don't think Donny Dumb Dumb is a communist, he is a Racist Fascist

sheryl jeffries's avatar

Blanche needs to go. I hope that John Cornyn is angry enough to follow through with his threats. Normally I wouldn't put my faith in him.

Pamela Horter-Moore's avatar

This is the federal government we have right now?

The Senators know Blanche is a partisan, unqualified, corrupt POS and they are OK with voting "yes"?

And pundits wonder why Americans have lost trust in their government?

Ida N. Zecco's avatar

They are all scum. Tillis should and won't, Collins should and won't, Murkowski should and won't and Cornyn should and won't. Why? because they are money-grabbing pieces of $%^&. They all want to be lobbyists, speakers on the road, etc. They are looking to make big money even after they leave office (if some of them EVER do). The Guardians Of Pedophiles have shown their colors since January 2025. We cannot count on a regime change unless there is an overwhelming blue wave in the November 2026 election and the Democrats/Independents have taken both Houses. There is a deragnged, incompetent Felon in the White House. We are long passed reasons for invoking the 25th Amendment.

bLUEduRham's avatar

You nailed it!

Karen Rivera's avatar

Removal under the 25th Amendment is a non-starter. Donny Dumb Dumb has everyone necessary frightened and painted into a corner: The process must be initiated by the Vice President acting in tandem with a majority of the principal officers of the executive department; This group must transmit a written declaration to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House stating that the President is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."; The President can reclaim power by sending a written declaration to congressional leaders stating that "no inability exists."

If the President contests the removal, they resume power

Ann Harding's avatar

A vote against voter suppression is not “throwing the middle finger” at anyone. It’s simply a man of integrity voting with consciousness.

Please we must refuse to follow his examples of bad behaviour and stoop to his level (as if that’s possible). Whoever we put in positions of power will set the moral tone. This is only a tiny example but we can resist influences that are destructive to our moral fabric.

Nancy Wagner's avatar

In jeopardy! 😤no shit, Sherlock!

We the People have been in continued jeopardy with this corrupt and vile administration for too long. The mental anguish and robbing our tax dollars is a slow wife beater. That's what this administration and little minions surrounding him have done. Blanche is only one.

No consideration in his nomination, period. Republicans in Congress have a duty and obligation to we the People.

--Not to this imbecile OR anyone around him.

Lisa East's avatar

I fervently hope so.

Susan Swan's avatar

I think the same message should go out to Susan Collins

MM Harris's avatar

Collins must be in a real dither. She's facing removal by ballot, which has never been a problem she had to worry about before, and has to appease a big chunk of voters who want other than blanche...

GREGG PLAPAS's avatar

No one should be on the fence post about Blanche's confirmation !!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY NO ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He must NOT be confirmed...........PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JVS's avatar

Cornyn wasn't even supported by Trump in his re-election. He owes Diaper Don nothing! Yes, this absolutely should John McCann momment. He can then get some glimmer of human decency and a place in history of doing the right thing for the good of the people. To please the orange orangutan 4 year old big fat baby currently in office, who wouldn't give a rats a__ about you would be the nail on your coffin if you're concerned about your legacy. I think more people would look at you like John, who had the guts to stand up against the crap in DC and he did the right thing. VOTE NO! VOTE NO! VOTE NO! VOTE NO! VOTE NO! VOTE NO! VOTE NO!

Edward mead's avatar

Call and write to your Congress and Senate; vote NO to TODD Blanche as Attorney General. Todd has already done a lot of damage to the Citizens because of Trump. Stop HIM NOW>>

Don Rob's avatar

Whenever these decisions come down to one vote, I immediately think of Senator Collins. It’s like the scorpion said to the frog it’s my nature.

Mary Lou Williams's avatar

Am I an eternal optimist in hoping Collin’s is finally defeated? Voters in Maine please kick her out.
