I agree that consumer spending is our "persuader." If an organization wants to use the tool, it should announce a time period--maybe week or two. It should be at a time other than when non-discretionary spending is likely--as during Back to School preparations. Perhaps the last week in September or the first weekend in October. Effort should be made to get independent news on board to have the widest possible publicity. The messaging should be stark. "Let the Big Business know that Americans will not tolerate this unfair economy! Consumer spending is 68% of the GDP, so we can send a message! Spend only what is absolutely necessary. When you must spend, do it with local businesses or those that have stood up for ordinary Americans like Costco. Try to avoid sycophants like Target and Amazon. If we are united in this, we will be heard."
The best prosecutors are the ones who are those who already know the answers to the questions they ask the subpoenaed person. Often, unknown to those being questioned, they may have hard evidence Granted, we expect liars to always lie, and the "deflectors" to always hide. Sometimes, " lwe the people" will catch them in lies under oath. The point of Oversight Committee investigations is to get the facts on the public record as well as expose the perps and enablers for their role. It is for that reason, why I think we especially need sitting Senate and Congressional members in 2027-2034 to go torch earth (no softball questions) with their prosecutorial skills to back these rats to our republic into a corner.

They can't do much, if anything, as long as they are in the minority and Repubs also have the Presidency, SCOTUS, and many of the appellate Judges.
So they are somewhat forced to disclose what they will do if they can get voters to the polls so they can be the majority.
