SPEAKER 1
We are seeing some major people in the Trump administration saying, I quit. Donald, you and your corrupt Department of Justice cannot order us to engage in illegal or unethical acts. Perhaps you will find other fools who will engage in such behavior. but not us. This is principally coming from the Department of Justice, Maine Justice in Washington, D.C.,
0:27
which is now run by the corrupt Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Deputy Attorney General Emile Bove. They're basically serving as Donald Trump's personal law firm out for nothing but retribution and unethical quid pro quo deals. But other top prosecutors who have worked in the doj for a long time have had enough and
0:51
they're very publicly quitting and also in the southern district of new york after their top federal prosecutor the acting united states attorney danielle sassone was asked to dismissed the charges against Mayor Eric Adams despite a ton of evidence of crimes committed, bribes taken, some of the worst behavior because Donald Trump wanted Eric Adams to turn over

Top Trump Officials Abruptly Quit in Protest

Top federal prosecutors are walking away rather than participate in Trump’s lawless retribution machine.
310

I’ve covered a lot of Trump corruption, but what we’re witnessing right now is on another level.

We are seeing career prosecutors resign in protest because they refuse to carry out Trump’s lawless orders. These are top officials at the Department of Justice and the Southern District of New York (SDNY)—people who have spent years upholding the law, regardless of politics. And now, they are walking away rather than become part of Trump’s personal retribution squad.

Here’s what’s happening: Trump’s DOJ, now led by his corrupt Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Emil Bove, ordered SDNY to drop the corruption charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams—despite overwhelming evidence of bribes, criminal behavior, and clear violations of the law. Why? Because Trump wanted Adams to start handing over money to his administration and pushing MAGA talking points.

This is straight-up mafia-style corruption. And the prosecutors weren’t having it.

Danielle Sassoon, the acting U.S. Attorney for SDNY, resigned in protest. Then others in her office followed. And when Trump’s people tried to shift the case to the Public Integrity Section in D.C., the acting head of that unit, John Keller, and his boss, Kevin Driscoll, also resigned.

This is a mass exodus of legal professionals saying, Enough is enough.

And here’s the kicker—Trump’s goons literally admitted to the corrupt quid pro quo on Fox News. Former ICE Director Tom Homan basically threatened Adams on air, saying if Adams didn’t do what Trump wanted, they’d “revisit” his case.

This is open, brazen criminality. They aren’t even trying to hide it anymore.

Now, Trump was asked about all of these resignations during an event with India’s Prime Minister Modi, and his response was classic Trump. First, he pretended he didn’t know anything about it. Then, realizing that the Supreme Court has essentially given him absolute immunity, he changed course and claimed he actually fired Danielle Sassoon.

It’s the same old Trump playbook—deny, then pivot to childish bravado.

But let’s talk about who’s actually running the DOJ now. Pam Bondi. Yes, the same Pam Bondi who was one of Trump’s impeachment lawyers. The same Pam Bondi who took illegal campaign donations from Trump’s charity and then conveniently dropped an investigation into Trump University. The same Pam Bondi who is now faking “charges” against New York’s Democratic leaders, including Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James.

Let’s be clear—these so-called “charges” Bondi announced? They don’t actually exist. It’s not a real indictment. It’s just a frivolous civil lawsuit that wasn’t even properly filed when she made her big announcement. This isn’t a functioning justice system. This is a banana republic.

And I’ve got to give credit to the prosecutors who resigned. They could have kept their jobs, taken their paychecks, and just gone along with it. But they stood on principle.

Just look at what Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten wrote in his resignation letter:

“If no lawyer within earshot of President Trump is willing to give him that advice—that what he's asking is unlawful and illegal—then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool or enough of a coward to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

That is integrity. That is courage.

Image

And here’s the bottom line: This is how authoritarianism takes hold. This is exactly what happens when you let a criminal run the government—he replaces competent professionals with bootlickers who will do whatever he wants, no matter how illegal.

But here’s what gives me hope: these resignations show that not everyone is willing to bend the knee. These prosecutors took an oath, and they are refusing to break it for Trump. That matters.

Now, it’s up to us. We can’t let this slide. We have to talk about it. We have to expose it. And most importantly, we have to make sure we are doing everything we can to stop Trump’s illegal acts—and highlight the heroes taking a stand.

Many have walked away rather than cross their personal limit. They finally chose integrity over corruption. Trump does not know how to stop pushing.

My hope is that eventually there will be enough pain, enough horror, enough hate and enough corruption that the country will rebel. If the reaction is not strong enough we will not have enough national will to fix all of his sabotage and to install protections against another such president.

Been doing some research into the roots of letting the US destroy itself. Nikita Khrushchev is credited with saying (in translation):

"We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the US. We will destroy you from within." (1956 Nov. 18)

But it turns out, Hitler was there earlier, and Kaiser Wilhelm may have laid the groundwork. Rachel Maddow's 2024 book Prequel quotes Hitler (obviously in translation) in 1940 as saying:

“Our strategy is to destroy the enemy from within, to conquer him through himself.” Viereck had literally written a book on the subject in 1930 (dedicated to Dr. Sigmund Freud of all people), assessing the weakness of the kaiser’s propaganda campaign in America during the first great war. “We were pikers,” . . . . "

"Viereck" is George Viereck, a paid German agent under Kaiser Wilhelm. By 1915, the German government was spending $2M PER WEEK on propaganda and actions to keep the US out of WWI. Viereck went on to work with the Nazi regime during WWII.

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend PREQUEL, by Rachel Maddow (2024). I started reading in in 2024 before the election, and it was eye-opening. I'm re-reading now, and in the unfolding of Project 2025 by the book, it is downright terrifying.

[It's also coincidentally interesting that Viereck's name literally means "4 angles/corners" and could be taken to refer to the hakenkreuz -- but surely that's just a coincidence.]

If that resignation letter by Hagan Scotten doesn’t fill you with pride to be an American, well nothing will. To Mr. Scotten the rule of law is everything and he stands by his principles no matter what, even to the point of giving up his livelihood. That my friends is what we call a PATRIOT. If Senate Republicans had 1/1000 the fortitude, conviction and principles we wouldn’t be nearly as deep in this mess as we are today. Look at the clowns we already have in DT’s puppet show with Kash Patel coming up soon for his rubber stamp of approval. The time is quickly approaching where every day Americans will have to make the same commitment to the rule of law, ethics and to the basic “it’s the right damned thing to do”. Whether it’s a public protest, a strike of essential services, a boycott, or something even more creative. Decision time is coming for us all.

Musk stated he would be going back to "run" his companies after he finds the 2T. Essentially, with or without the 2T he's gotten the government to extinguish his investigations quashed and regs removed, which should freak anyone out with regard to national security, and gotten contracts so lets push for that.

When everyone asks WHY he is doing this or that it is important to remember and remind ourselves, we didn't hold him accountable, through the AG, that then represented, We The People, under Biden, but a jury, that did, on 5/24/24, I believe, in the election interference/hush money case, still passed the stink test for the SCOTUS to give him, as the R candidate for POTUS, immunity, officially for criminality, on 7/1/24.

What he is doing surpasses that ruling. It leaves open many questions for the SCOTUS. They are I'm sure, to an extent, watching in horror, because they wanted their unitarian executive theory advanced but not a reckless criminal committing criminal acts everyday.

Time for the cowards to define what is allowable as the two lower courts weren't given the chance and it still allows them to decide what he can be prosecuted for. IN OFFICE.

I agree the Congress needs a backbone quickly. Primaried won't matter because if, and that is a big IF, we have elections, in 2026, they will be rigged, especially if the SAVE ACT passes, and Musk is still around. So, if we vote they won't need a primary contestant as they'll lose no matter what, I believe, in either circumstance. I hope that makes sense.

Godspeed to Ukraine.

Re: “But here’s what gives me hope: these resignations show that not everyone is willing to bend the knee. These prosecutors took an oath, and they are refusing to break it for Trump.” I understand that they want to overwhelm us and make us feel helpless. But honestly, I don’t see why these resignations give you hope. Hope of what exactly? What do you think these resignations will do to change the course of events. Even if the entire justice department resigned en masse at this point, I’m not sure what effect it would have. At some point, it’s time to accept that things like resignations are never going to be enough to stem the tide. If you want to have hopes, it will depend on more desperate measures.

I give them credit for making a stand! Hopefully reigning is not playing in their hand? NY Gov should show that Mayor the door? Who's taking his place though? Or has that person resigned? Donald the prices on chaos! Tom the boarder Czar? "cop talk?". He does not sound very intelligent to me!! Likely why the Donald choose him as Donald does better with less intelligent people!! He's said that!

I'd love to ask Don Jr. If his Dad is playing Putin like the last time Donald ignored intellegence! Its well known Donald can't read a financial spread sheet! His same company had two bankruptcies!!! Now that is Stupid!

Civil and Constitutional Rights of Convicted Felons

NCJ Number 103775

Author(s)

N Pease

Date Published 1984

Length 58 pages

Annotation

This memorandum reviews State laws denying convicted felons their constitutional or civil rights and discusses whether Alaska could pass a constitutional amendment denying convicted felons such rights.

Abstract

Most jurisdictions deny convicted criminals specific rights rather than all civil and constitutional rights. The rights most often curtailed include the right to vote and hold public office, employment rights, domestic rights, and financial and contractual rights. State statutes and local ordinances are the traditional means for abridging the rights of convicted criminals.

The United States has broken free of monarchy in the past and the United States can break free of fascism. Mid terms are coming up and we have to think of how to protect our farmers, the health and education of our children and their freedom and rights. Alot is at stake and lets get real...does the richest man in the world really need 400 million for armored tesla vehicles when you can take out a car by the tires. Really. Musk and his muskrats need to get day jobs and stop living off the poor of this country. People are watching these oligarchs and will exact a toll on them . What they have done can be recreated and surpassed.

It pleases me there are people of integrity, however, the resignations are now an open invite for unscrupulous unqualified denizens to usurp more power for the Orange brigade in our judicial system. Might look like the number of "fools" (real serious idiots) and "cowards" (real serious spineless miscreants) in your politics is reaching a critical mass. There seems to be quite a supply of them. Randy Travis had it right in the song "Point of Light": if you see something wrong and you make it right, you become a point of light". And if you have no moral compass and no spine, well, you don't. Those lawyers in New York that have resigned in defiance of fools and cowards are "points of light" for sure.

It will be interesting when the DOJ has to appear before Judge Daniel Ho and try to justify dropping the charges, particularly when they've been shooting their mouths off about the brazen quid pro quo. Judge Ho may refuse to allow the charges to be dropped, given the stink of corruption. It's time for Governor Hochul to get on the stick and remove the dirty cop; if she's stalling because Jumaane Williams is a progressive, she should be howled down.

"We must stop this.

Ben. I love your work. when I can access it.

I love all the activist substack material that I can access.

I'm a person on a ridiculously low income.

I live in this once great country. I am a citizen. I am endowed by the creator (whoever that was) with certain inalienable rights.

I want to do something about all this..obscenity. I can't financially support all of you brilliant writers *informing* us of the End Times coming, but without information about *effective* and organizational ACTION.

I especially can't support all the people who have declared they need money for the next campaign. I have written and called the one craven Rep from my district that I am granted access to many times and both of my craven Senators many times with no valid response. I did get a response today from one of them blaming Biden for all the problems. I am not making this up.

What's an American to do? I am festering here in an ever roiling brain stew of terrible ideas involving pies in the face with grenades in.

Damn. Is there no alternative? Doesn't look like it.

And sings the tune without the words

That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land

Yet never, in Extremity,

Incredible! But surrender and flight must be wrong. Orders to break the law must be illegal and indictable at least as obstruction of justice. What prosecutor has the courage to handle this properly, have the perpetrators arrested, charged and tried? As seen from across the Atlantic, this is beyond tragic!

Scotten has guts. Not only did he resign, his letter was basically a big F you. He was not mincing words, and called whoever would do what Bove asked as a fool and a coward. I am just furious that DOJ is losing so many experienced prosecutors just because a criminal president is trying to do a quid pro quo with a criminal mayor. You know how many years and how much resources it takes to train prosecutors to that level of seniority? All of that has gone to waste.
