It seems like we should be preaching to the choir. All elected Democrats should be trained on how original Medicare is beneficial (opposed to the privatized Advantage plans). Medicare pays 80 percent. You can buy a private plan to cover the other 20. It works for me.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t be talking to dems, I agree with you. I just wish they could package it a bit differently. I know personally that when I click on some dramatic title and picture, I expect to read that exact thing. It really makes me angry when I click on something and it really doesn’t have any connection to the story or has made me think it’s one thing when it’s going to be another. I used to share their stories all the time, which I feel is part of why they have grown so well… they produce well thought out information and news. There are people out there, though, that aren’t as deeply involved in, or even understanding what’s happening right now. When I am trying to talk someone into a more open space of mind, I don’t slap them in the face with an inflammatory statement to begin with! I just feel like they are beginning to look like some of those channels that I stopped following because I kept getting click-baited. If you can only get followers by doing that kind of thing, then maybe they aren’t the right kind of followers. As a movement, we are bringing on new people that are finally seeing the light, but I don’t personally feel that they will be attracted to this kind of title, even though the article inside it is great.

I totally agree. The content is better than the packaging, but I suppose they want a younger generation or the less politically informed to click on it. I’m retired now and I have the time to research and know what I want. If you’re working full-time, you don’t have that luxury.
I’m 58 and in the last ten years, I’ve lost FOUR phenomenal doctors who left practicing medicine because of the nightmare that is healthcare insurance. Another important reason this has to happen, the healthcare professionals are suffering in this system to the point that it breaks them.
I lost my outstanding doctor because of COVID and the idiot patients he had that would not follow any medical advice. He'd been my doctor for over 20 years (longest relationship I ever had with anyone except my kids and dentist!). I am in a very red area and most of his patients were maga supporters..maybe not real radicals, but enough that they believed trump when he said take ivermectin or bleach. Ther e will be more and more loss of competent health care professionals as the US demonstrates such hate for foreigners (about 25% of our doctors are foreign born..think any of them would come now, or will stay for long). And as you say, the over all shortness of personnel makes it hard on those who stay and those who can leave will.
I live in Eastern NC, very red country. I have had 4 primary care docs in the 10 years since I moved here from North Jersey. The last doc died, and has been replaced with a physicians assistant; she's nice enough, and haven't seen her enough to know about competency. So, I'm getting to just another part of the problem with our current system: medical school costs so much that, unless one is wealthy, the loan costs are onerous, and docs need to either specialize or practice where they can make enough to pay off those loans (a dear friend is a physician, and finally paid off her med school loans in her mid fifties!). Add to that, the AMA and med schools keep enrollment static, so there "won't be toomuch completion". Medicare for all"!!!!
Yes, good point - I was assigned a PA and then a Nurse Practitioner after losing my primary MD. They’re fine people but I often wonder what the downside is to that.

The judicial, not legally spoken/written, in the constitution or elsewhere, are nonetheless fiduciaries for those their Oath demands duties which are legally binding. They are ruling on ideological lines.
Hope they use their time, in deep deliberation, to decide whom their accountability, is owed, as fiduciary is the highest trust a person can place in another. Theirs doesn’t belong, in totality, to the president. Nor does it give them the right to write laws like criminal immunity.

This is the best summary of single payer health I have yet seen. It needs to go viral. I have been a proponent of single payer since 1990, when I researched it for graduate school. Unfortunately, I was a lonely voice who was seen as a Socialist, a Communist, or just anti-American. Bernie Sanders has been right all along. And maybe before he and I both die, we will get to where every other modern nation in the world now lives with health care.

Thank you, Max. That was very good info. Healthcare does need improved and there are a lot of other government functions in need of improvement. The problem with what has happened is that Trump came in and he wants to fix everything now. He and Musk just came in and completely destroyed all government functions without any plans on how to fix anything. They fired/retired everyone! You need all types of people to run a business...the educated person/s to run the jobs and educated people who can do the jobs, and then you can hire. Trump/Musk came in said to get rid of everyone and start over! It doesn't work!! They did that with every function of our government. He could have taken a few at a time, develop a plan, maybe make tweaks, then move on to other government functions. Our whole government is messy and out of control. Personally, I could never work like that!!
