Trump Family THREATENS to SUE MEIDAS?!
By Ben Meiselas
Friends, the Trump family is now openly threatening to SUE the MeidasTouch Network after we highlighted reporting from the Financial Times about a new investment involving Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. This is the same tired playbook they learned from their daddy: intimidation, bluster, and empty threats.
The Financial Times reported on a deal involving a company backed by Don Jr. and Eric tied to a major tungsten mining project that received significant U.S. government support. Our Editor-in-Chief, Ron Filipkowski, posted the article and added his commentary:
“Suddenly Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumber just can’t stop making big bucks off shrewd investments in companies making big bucks off connections to the government. They are experts in every industry now.”
In response, Eric Trump jumped in with a warning, telling Ron to be “very careful”:
“@RonFilipkowski i would be very careful Ron. I had no involvement in this transaction and have always been a passive investor with no management role in this vehicle. Any suggestion to the contrary would be both inaccurate and defamatory.”
Let’s get something straight.
Posting and commenting on a Financial Times report is not defamation. And it is an undisputed fact that the Trump family has profited to the tune of billions off the presidency.
If the Trump family thinks they are going to intimidate us and this community, they are badly mistaken.
We’ve dealt with these threats before. They’ve come after us. Trump has sued our hosts. Trump family allies have sued us. And they’ve failed every time.
So go ahead. File the lawsuit.
We welcome discovery and would look forward to taking their depositions under oath.
This community has our back. Your subscriptions help us continue reporting and allow us to keep fighting back. So if you ever thought about becoming a paid subscriber, consider doing so now.
We’re going to keep doing our job.
And we’re not backing down.
