Trump Praised General John Kelly Multiple Times, Even When He Left

Trump is now attacking Kelly for exposing his admiration of Hitler’s generals and disrespect for soldiers

Trump is attacking General John Kelly, his former Chief of Staff, now that audio has been published of him stating Trump expressed admiration for Hitler’s generals and disparaged soldiers who lost their lives during WWII as “suckers” and “losers.”

On Truth Social Wednesday, Trump called the story “made up” and attacked Kelly, “a total degenerate,” a person with “hatred,” a “dumb” person, who had “weakness,” “Jello,” “a lowlife,” “a bad general,” and someone he stopped seeking advice from while in the White House

However, Trump’s past Twitter messages contradict his attacks. Kelly was Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security for a little over 6 months until Trump named him White House Chief of Staff, a position he held for nearly a year and a half

In July 2017, Trump tweeted that he named Kelly his new White House Chief of Staff, and called the general, "a great American," "a great leader," and "a true star," who "has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security.

In August 2017, Trump said General Kelly was "doing a fantastic job" at Chief of Staff and called the White House a place of "tremendous spirit and talent."

 In September of 2017, Trump said Kelly was "doing a great job" and "could not be happier or more impressed.

In October 2017, Trump called Kelly, “one of the finest people I know” who “is doing a fantastic job” for Trump and the USA

In January 2018, Trump thanked Kelly and again said he was “doing a fantastic job.

In July, Trump congratulated Kelly for his first full year serving at his White House chief of staff. Trump posted a picture of himself with Kelly

Even when Kelly departed the Trump administration months later, Trump tweeted that the decorated general had “served our country with distinction.

However, now that Kelly’s revelations that Trump praised the loyalty of Hitler’s generals and attacked fallen soldiers have resurfaced with audio, Trump and his MAGA followers are on the attack. Trump said it himself: Kelly is a great American and one of the finest people he knows.
