Sometimes it's hard to know what the right thing to do is...when there are limited funds, as all nations have, is the right thing to do to spend say $24 an hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to keep a person with serious psychological disabilities, who is unable to be without constant supervision because he/she is a danger to themselves or others, in their own home, (so that would be 24 X 24x 365 or about $210,240 a year) or to give much of that funding to an elementary school class where many children will be helped and provide housing for the disabled person in an institution where the cost would be maybe around $77,000 (I got that figure from AI). But other issues are very clear...it is wrong to withhold food from people who are eligible for it (and I feel wrong to withhold food from anyone, but that's not what our laws say). It' wrong that persons who victimize others according to the law get off scot free. It is wrong to bomb innocent fishing boats that could never ever make it to your shores and may or may not be carrying drugs. In the US it still is wrong to detain person just because of their color. And as we all know the list is much longer. I hope soon we can get these easy rights and wrongs settled and then figure out how to address the much harder ones.

I have a strong belief. I've become disillusioned by the megachurches. I grew up in a town of 300, and belonged to the Presbyterian Church there and did confirmation classes at age 12. I loved my church family. But I can't find one in Wheeling WV

I don't know how far Wheeling is from Bloomery (WV), but my sister goes to a presbyterian church in that town and she loves it. It's small (well--Boomery is a small town!) but is great. You may not be close enough to try it out but if you are, try it!

I watched a video where a pastor said he was doing a social experiment. He asked his congregation, if a neighbor had run out of formula for her new born baby and knocked on your door for help would you help her? Not one person raised their hand. Thank you for your service in active duty and your continued service now! Stay strong and encourage others to be strong too! Sometimes it's hard to know what the right thing to do is...when there are limited funds, as all nations have, is the right thing to do to spend say $24 an hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to keep a person with serious psychological disabilities, who is unable to be without constant supervision because he/she is a danger to themselves or others, in their own home, (so that would be 24 X 24x 365 or about $210,240 a year) or to give much of that funding to an elementary school class where many children will be helped and provide housing for the disabled person in an institution where the cost would be maybe around $77,000 (I got that figure from AI). But other issues are very clear...it is wrong to withhold food from people who are eligible for it (and I feel wrong to withhold food from anyone, but that's not what our laws say). It' wrong that persons who victimize others according to the law get off scot free. It is wrong to bomb innocent fishing boats that could never ever make it to your shores and may or may not be carrying drugs. In the US it still is wrong to detain person just because of their color. And as we all know the list is much longer. I hope soon we can get these easy rights and wrongs settled and then figure out how to address the much harder ones.

I saw Nuremberg last week. The thing that ultimately brought Goering down was his psychological inability to abandon Hitler on the witness stand.
