Trump Supporters' Death Threats Against Meidas

Yesterday, the MeidasTouch Network reported on the funeral of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, who were assassinated on June 14. In response to our coverage of the funeral, radicalized Trump supporters sent us some of the most heinous messages, including death threats. For example, one Trump supporter said to us, “The country will be lucky once you’re in one of those [caskets] soon. Whole family actually. Couldn’t happen to better people.”

This reminds me: we are not living in normal times. Trump and his supporters are not capable of empathy. It’s why I often refer to it as a death cult. When Trump was asked if he would call Minnesota Governor Walz or attend the funeral, he responded, “I’m not calling him… he’s whacked out… he’s a mess.”

Cruelty is the point with MAGA.

Case in point: today, Donald Trump is spending the day on a remote airstrip in the swampy Everglades of Florida that he and DeSantis spent $450 million to convert into a concentration camp. They are calling it “Alligator Alcatraz.”

The camp will be filled with 5,000 migrants. There is no air conditioning, the weather will be over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and it is infested with alligators and pythons that could eat and kill the migrants.

Trump’s Department of Homeland Security has been publishing AI memes of alligators dressed in ICE agent hats, prepared to eat migrants.

There is no way around it. These are truly sick people.

That often means we are the subject of MAGA death threats and harassment. It’s fine—they don’t scare us, and we are prepared for it.
